Authentic German food in New Braunfels! Just loved the small restaurant with parking in back. Good selection of appetizers and entrees. Cute interior. Service was friendly and attentive. We ordered the pretzel with fixings to start. The HÜHNERBRUST GESCHNETZELTES was very hearty and enough for a few meals. Red cabbage was delicious. Yummy chicken schnitzel and Spatzel. Biggest disappointment was no strudel or alpine delight... skipped the Black Forest cake... Overall, a great location for German food.

Lunch @ the Alpine. I ordered the Reuben sandwich, which came with complementary rye bread, and a soup or salad. I opted for the onion soup, and you could clearly see the thinly sliced onions--even after I'd already enjoyed half of it. It was delicious! The Reuben was incredibly filling, perfectly toasted, and full of flavor. The German potato salad featured hearty chunks of cooked potatoes and tasted absolutely divine. The service was excellent, loved the atmosphere and German music.

I think this may be the best schnitzel we've ever had. A very authentic, German restaurant recommended to us by some of the locals. As soon as we walked in, we are greeted with the smell of the food in the air, the staff, and a gentleman in lederhosen playing German songs on the accordion. The only way it could get more authentic is if they handed you a full bier mug and screamed "Prost" as you walked in lol. It looks like it was once someone's home that has since been renovated into a restaurant. Very cozy and homey. Baylee was our very attentive waitress. We never wanted for anything. My husband got a Duvel, and I got a weihenstephaner Hefeweizen, both delicious and refreshing. For food - The starter salad was nice and light, covered in a house made dill vinaigrette. Unique, light and refreshing. I dipped our bread in the extra dressing left in the bowl. Then the schnitzel! I got the Jäger Schnitzel and my Husband got the Ziguener Schnitzel. Mine was savory with a mushroom gravy sauce that had the right amount of thickness to it. Perfect for the potato dumplings to be soaked in. I could've done with less mushrooms on mine, personally. My husbands had a nice bell peppery flavor to it, not spicy at all. The spätzel was tasty too. We were so happy we chose this place, we don't have a lot of good German food out by us. Both our dishes came with sauerkraut as well. I'm not super into sauerkraut. But it had a yummy tang to it. It was perfect when used as a garnish for every bite you take. Kinda like how you put a bit of sliced ginger on your sushi roll before you eat it. Only bummer is that they didn't have their dessert menu available at the time we went. So if your interested in their dessert, maybe call before you go to make sure it's available!

We drive from Fort Worth several times a year to visit our trusted dentist Dr. Adam Gentry at Cole and Gentry in New Braunfels and make a little three day outing of it to visit restaurants in New Braunfels and San Antonio. Have looked at Alpine House before but something caught my eye this time and we decided to visit for lunch. So glad we did. This quaint, stone wall interior venue takes you back to a country inn in Europe. Such a welcoming and comfortable venue. Our server, Karin, was most pleasant, helpful, and attentive. We began with a bottle of a lovely German White wine to share and for me a Trappistes Rochefort beer which proved to be outstanding. Beer Advocate rates it 100. We decided to share the Reuben sandwich. It was accompanied by a potato and ham soup which proved to be absolutely delicious. Rich and savory. So enjoyable. The Reuben is everything a Reuben oughta be. Reuben perfection and their Reuben sauce here is easily the tastiest I've ever had on a Reuben. The side of German potato salad is packed with flavor and served very enjoyably at a cool, room temperature. I really enjoyed it at this temperature as compared with hot. This will surely be a regular destination for us on our trips to NB. We met a delightful (also retired couple) with whom we are planning to meet for lunch here on our visit this coming June. Prost y'all!

Just returned from early supper here. Had mushroom soup, Veal Jaeger Schnitzel, potato dumplings, & red cabbage. Good REAL German cuisine items. But, disappointed they were out of apple strudel. Good restaurant, super wait-service, even background .... . . . .classic German music. Unusual parking on large paved, partly-shaded lot on sides & to rear.

Everything was worth the drive to this NB staple. The Reuben and Potato Salad are so good. The Jager Schnitzel seemed as though it needed some salt or maybe it was the mushroom gravy. Either way, it was okay and red cabbage was decent. The ambiance, service (Karen) and Alpine Delight are worth the $101 bill we received.

This place has a very cozy atmosphere. The food is tasty, the beer was absolutely delicious and the service was great. A bit on the pricey side but good enough to go back.

Fairly authentic German restaurant! It is located in a historic house and the inside has a lot of character. They are pet friendly and it was a very quiet night so they let us sit inside with our pet. Our waitress was super kind and gave great recommendations on the menu. The dessert was good!

Salad with dill dressing and marble rye bread

My birthday dinner choice, and it did not disappoint. The Javier-rahm chicken schnitzel was perfectly cooked - golden and crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The sour cream & mushroom gravy was delicious on both the schnitzel and the spatzle. I always love the refreshing dill vinaigrette, because it is so light and flavorful, and the marble rye bread is so soft, fresh and flavorful. The German potato salad has a very light sauce on it, but the combination of bacon and pickles give it a unique flavor that I really like (it's not too mustardy like some German potato salad). My husband loves the crispy fried potatoes and the chicken cordon blue. Service is always friendly and professional and wait time for food delivery was very good. The German decor makes the experience feel even more authentic.

The service was excellent! Very quite low key ambiance. The food was fabulous! You definitely got a very good size portion. Very excellent wine choices. It's on the pricey side. Great for a first date or anniversary.

We used to love it. The last 2 times we ate there, the food was sub-par. Lack of flavor and over cooked Schnitzel.

I do not recall seeing a kids menu. Sorry.

Dress code? Dressy?

I think it would tend more toward casual. We wore business casual.

When I saw the mechanic shop conversion and industrial interior I got worried. The staff seemed a bit overwhelmed and a tad unprepared for shift opening. HOWEVER, I am always open to being proved wrong, which I was. The food was amazing and the staff was able to handle the five of us, three being boomers who had questions about EVERYTHING, but we love them, haha. The staff handled us with grace. When they didn't know the answer to the million questions we had they got it for us from the kitchen staff or manager. Zero pretension. All the kindness. I can't remember what we ordered; we ordered at least half the menu. Every single dish was amazing. We will for sure be back sans boomers for many date nights to come.

The waitstaff is wonderful and everyone is so nice. I get the same dishes every single time because I know they are very good...the hummus and their bread is amazing! Caesar is also super good every time. We love getting the meatballs and the shrimp dish...the shrimp one is probably my favorite item on the menu. I don't even love wine but the wines I have had there are great! The only cons I do have to say are I wish the menu had more options or when there are specials it's more than one day before they sell out. I LOVE tiramisu and that's the one dessert they do have but I've only been able to order it once because every other time they are sold out and I understand you run out but then there needs to be a second or third option to choose from. I look forward to ordering the tiramisu every time and I haven't been able to in months because they never have it. This is one of my go to places when I do eat out here and I'm happy with getting the same dishes over and over because they are good but I am interested and excited to see what else they add to the menu in the future!!

You go way to the back and down a steep flight of stairs. My son, his wife, and I left my wife and grandbaby in the saloon and headed down. When you get down there, you are suddenly in a beautiful Tiki bar with so many amazing things to gawk at. It sort of felt like waking up in OZ. We were the first people there, so we got to sit at the bar and watch our drinks being made. They have about 15 or so different specialty tiki drinks. Each one comes in a particular piece of glassware. I don't know how the bartender keeps them straight. He was constantly pouring different things into a shaker. Then he would shake it and pour it into the glass that was already filled with crushed ice. One of the drinks even had a smoking cinnamon stick. My drink was really good. It was the Three Dots and a Dash. It came in a barrel and was decorated with a skull toothpick that had three cherries and a piece of pineapple to represent the dots and dash. It was super strong! I was ready to risk it all and go for another drink, but it had gotten packed inside the bar. We could tell the bartender was stressing. They really need two for times like that. My wife spends the night at my son's house in New Braunfels every Thursday to give them a date night. Evidently, this is where they always go. I can certainly see why!
