Stopped by for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by this small restaurant close to Schlitterbahn waterpark. The restaurant is very small but they make up for it with BIG potatoes. The staff is very friendly and helpfully offered recommendations. I went with the Chicken Fried Steak Spud and my girlfriend had the Brisket Spud. Both were absolutely MASSIVE and delicious! Absolutely would recommend to anybody looking for a delicious lunch while at the water park!

Place was clean, service was kind and enthusiastic. And my potato was good- they had so many kinds to choose from. I just wish the tables had salt shakers, the little packets were killing me. I'd go back.

We stopped at this location after floating the river. It was a delicious decision! The baked potatoes were amazing. I got to taste a few flavors off my friends' potato dishes. The chicken Parm was good, the traditional tasted like your best baked potatoes from home should taste. I totally enjoyed a Texas Bacon Cheeseburger, which was pretty good and well deserving of its award recognition. Let me tell you, these guys know they've cornered the market on their baked potatoes - and they're pretty good at it. Spuds Ranch offers a kids menu... the usual, mac and cheese; grilled cheese, and chicken tenders. My kids topped off their Lili Russet meals with some grilled cheese sandwiches and fries. They went back for their assortment of Blue Bell Ice Cream for dessert. You put in your order, and you get your food quickly and with friendly service. Plenty of parking in the back. If you crave a baked potato, this is your place in New Braunfels.

This place is a gem!! I regret not coming here sooner but now that I've had a taste of the yumminess they serve, I'll be back... OFTEN!! The sweet girl who took our order was very helpful letting us know her favorites and popular items. It was very clean inside! There was a couple eating next to us and as soon as they left, the table was wiped. Everything sounded enticing while reading the menu. I couldn't decide what I wanted to try so I ordered multiple items. It was just my husband and I and we had the fried okra (which btw was AMAZING) served hot and fresh out of the grease was the perfect starter, the steak sandwich and fresh cut fries (the steak was so flavorful and tender) that were not processed and were cut from fresh potatoes, the chicken spud (it was HUGE) that packed with flavorful tender chicken pieces and the Texas cheeseburger. Everything was great but I'd have to say my favorites were definitely the steak sand sandwich and the okra. They also have drive thru for those who are unaware like I was. I'd definitely recommend this establishment to anyone looking for delicious food made hot and fresh. You will not be disappointed.

Chili Cheeseburger Spud was well done. A little pricy, but tasty.

Solid menu and stick to your ribs food. The meal was enjoyable and staff was friendly. Only drawback was the flies. Maybe it was because we sat close to the soda fountain, but there isn't much of a choice in the space offered. I know that bugs fly in and it can be expected, but to be hassled by flies during the entire meal was not appetizing.

Went on a whim with my friends who had already dined here a couple of times. The last time they…read morewaited in line for 1.5 hours after arriving 11:30am. We arrived 10:58am and waited for 2 hours. I've read of long waits but being with friends, chatting and anticipating wasn't that bad esp. watching the line move along and having awnings along the buildings provided much needed shade. Some window fronts had small ledges that one could sit if you wanted so we did in a couple of places. I brought a personal neck fan and a thermos with iced Coconut water so I was hydrated. If it was later in the summer, I'm not so sure how I'd fare? It's best to come early because some items were selling out by the time we ordered. The first was the Coleslaw and "The Blake" Brisket Taco that included the Coleslaw and BBQ Sauce. By the time I ordered the 1 lb of Beef Cheeks Pastrami to go, I was told that was the last of it. Lucky me! My friend wanted to order some but fini! I shared some with her and my other friend so they could taste it. It was so fork-tender, slightly smoky and cutting into it the color was a deep burgundy-red! We were fascinated by it. I love Pastrami and I know Beef Cheeks are tender when done right so I was intrigued on their take on it. I would order this again! I also ordered 1 lb of the Prime Brisket to go. It was a little drier, less smoky than the Beef Cheeks and I had to use BBQ Sauce for some moisture. The El Tejano Brisket Taco sounded well balanced with the Red Salsa, Avocado Crema, Pickled Onions and Queso Fresco. The Pickled Onions & sauces complimented the smoky, tender Brisket. I actually thought the Brisket in my Taco was more tender than the Prime Brisket I got to go. It was a generous 4-slice portion esp. for $8. I think the Flour Tortilla could be somehow toasted. I bet a Sonoran style Flour Tortilla would be great as it has those toasted brown spots and is flavorful! I have some at home so I'm going to use that tomorrow. The only side that was appealing to me was the Potato Salad. I wasn't sure how it would be prepared as some places drown the Potatoes in a mayonnaise overload. They prepared it with a light dressing with chopped Red Peppers, Pickles and I think some onions & something that made them yellowish so the Potatoes shined. I wanted to try the meats as is without BBQ Sauce so I could enjoy it for its purity. I was given 4 White Bread slices, a small plastic container with onions and sliced pickles, 2 Horseradish sauces & 3 BBQ sauces. I'll try the Horseradish another day. When you order and initially pay, they just take your order and you move down to the next station for sides and prepping your food. I didn't know about the "Garnishes Available" with Pickles, Okra, Onions, Jalapeños and Bread til I read the sign afterward. My friends both ordered the "Chinese Sticky Rib Plate" that came with a "Cucumber Smash Salad". The Ribs were a bit salty and mentioned that they weren't this salty the last time they came. They had me try it and after a few chews, I could see how the smokiness and salt could be a bit much after a while. The Cucumbers were cut in chunks in what reminded me of a Korean Chili Sauce type of preparation. I just showed my receipt for the clerk to put the styrofoam box full of goodies together. My friend got up later and asked for some Okra. The Okra had a masculine smell to it so I only ate one piece. Near the utensil station is an area where you could buy t-shirts and I think some frozen or refrigerated items/meat? I saw a SF 49er white plaque so I asked the employee if the chef was from the Bay Area but he said he's from Texas and is just a fan. I told him I'm from the Bay Area and am a fan too! The bathrooms are wide and use drying fans vs. paper towels. I prefer paper towels esp. if you're going to wash your hands w/BBQ Sauce or grease. We walked out in the back area where the smokers were located since we could cut thru to the back parking lot in the cross street. Happy to have tried this and happy they won 2 Michelin Bib Gourmand Accolades in 2024 & 2025 and won Texas Monthly's Best BBQ Restaurant in 2025!! It's exciting to see local restaurants being recognized esp. for their BBQ. When I first visited in 2007, there were only a handful of BBQ spots that people would recommend. Now they're elevating their game and critics are noticing and on the map!! Support local!! To note: While in line, we saw people walking out with bags of food to go. Best to go earlier as possible, otherwise later in the day would be fine if can't wait in line. It would help to highlight the directions on how to order & locate them near the Menu Boards.

The brisket was mediocre at best -- slightly under seasoned and the smoke flavor tasted a little off to me. The pork ribs were lacking flavor, and the bacon ranch potatoes were pretty much flavorless and definitely needed salt. The street corn pudding was okay, but it also felt bland somehow -- not really sweet or savory, just kind of there. I also tried the beef ribs, and they were just okay. They weren't nearly as tender as I expected, especially considering the reputation this place has. The highlights for me were definitely the beef cheek pastrami and the sticky ribs. The beef cheeks were melt-in-your-mouth tender and perfectly seasoned, and the sticky ribs had great flavor. For the amount of hype, long wait times, and "best in Texas" reputation, I left pretty disappointed. I honestly don't understand why this place is considered number one in the state.

I saw some white lady that just looked angry behind the counter I'm assuming is the owner. Now, I did have VERY high expectations for this place because I have been a long time follower of 90 West barbecue since they first began. I know Jesus and Robin moved to this location. With that said I had high hopes the food would have came along with them, which by visual plating, and taste it absolutely did not. I honestly felt them two would have easily been brought this place on the top 50 bbq list and that got me so excited to make the drive out to try it. I did ask for Jesus but they said he was off when we went by. That surprised me they always work! Haha I don't know if he will see this review since he is a manager but Jesus your very talented man with a heart of craft bbq we know your worth, your bbq was killer. I ordered 1 lb of lean brisket, and "lean" apparently translated to "dehydrated museum artifact." Dry enough that I'm pretty sure it absorbed moisture from the table. We actually ended up tossing most of it, which physically hurts me to say about Texas BBQ. The mac and cheese? I mean this respectfully... maybe let that item retire with dignity. Before everyone grabs their pitchforks, the Baby Back Ribs were REALLY good. Tender, flavorful, and absolutely part of the meal. The cream corn was solid too. And then there was the potato salad... whoever made that deserves a raise. Dill flavor, red skin potatoes, little carrot pieces, dill pickle tang and easily one of the best potato salads I've had anywhere. I normally take two bites of potato salad out of obligation. This one I kept going back for like it owed me money.
