The order was confirmed at 12:05 by the restaurant and then at 12:41 the order was cancelled and food Hamati had removed themselves from GrubHub entirely. Ghosted. It was like dating back in high school when you're texting and you think everything's going great. Then just before you're supposed to pick them up for a chicken dinner, you get a text saying that they "have a lot going on in life and can't go to eat chicken for a while." ...never to be heard from again. We went to Food Hamati after walking out of another nearby restaurant after 20 minutes without being given the opportunity to order our food. The server at that other restaurant did us a huge favor; we've found an amazing new place! We were promptly greeting with a genuine smile. We ordered quickly and the food did not take long at all. I had the falafel platter that comes with hummus, baba, rice, and tabbouleh. My partner had the chicken shawarma. We were both so pleased with the friendly service and fabulous food. Very yummy food. Really good portions. Great little place for lunch on the weekend. The grape leaves are amazing. Get a couple falafel and don't forget the hot sauce. So good! There are also a lot of little details that make this place seem fancier than lunch food: whole chickpeas on top of the hummus and delicious spice profiles and almond slivers in the rice. The reviews here looked so appealing. I was looking forward to this for a week! We walked in and could not believe how filthy everything was. Flies all over and dirty counters, flooring and who knows what else. We didn't stay long enough to even try! Very disappointing. read more

I had high expectations from Hamati after reading all the reviews but was rather disappointed. The mix shawarma platter was delicious (particularly kefta) were delicious, but the portions were very small - not good value for money at all (when you spend $15, you don't expect to stop on way home to buy something else too). But what really frustrated me was the amount of time it took - 30 minutes for a single order, when there are only two other occupied tables on a weekday evening, is too long. I love this place. The food is generously portioned, well priced, and just delicious. The Hamati burger and kofta wrap are our go-to orders. They are busy and take a little more time to prepare the order but are very polite and accommodating, and the food always hits the mark. read more

We were looking for a place for lunch and found Food Hamati on Yelp. We were pleasantly greeted by the owner who took our order. The menu is on a modern big screen which is very easy to read. Our food was brought to the table. The food was fabulous!!! My husband had the Lamb Kebob. He said it was cooked perfectly. I had the beef/ lamb shawarma wrap. It was very delicious. We also ordered a Tabouleh salad which was very refreshing. Overall, we were very pleased with the food, clean atmosphere and great service. Delicious food, definitely our new favorite in the area! The bread was incredibly tasty, as was the sauce for the gyro and shawarma was perfect (and homemade)! Went here for the first time and had Baba gannouj and lamb shawarma platter lamb was delicious and the rice was richly flavored. The Baba G was well textured and clearly freshly (but not too freshly) made. The tahini garlic and eggplant had had some time to meld. I also had the shrak bread which is a thin unleavened Jordanian bread. It is very glutinous and very sturdy for its thinness. An Arabic version of the Piada bread but much more resilient. Service was friendly and it was a pleasure to talk with the owner. The atmosphere is inexpensive minimalist and all drinks are self serve bottles. Very family friendly in attitude. We have tried several of their menu items. We enjoy the hummus, and Baba ganoush a lot. Their gyros are super filling and delicious. The only thing is service takes a while. They probably need more people working the kitchen. read more

Food Hamati is a hidden Gem! I had the Kefnet chicken wrap and was blown away but the ways the flavors came together. Delicious! The falafel is a MUST HAVE. I am by no means a Medditerranean food expert but the food here is great! It is a casual low-profile joint where most people get takeout. I've tried here handful of times and enjoyed their super gyros. But what I've noticed is that the size of their gyro has shrunk by almosy half after a couple times I'be got them. The price was obviously the same. Thought I found a gem but I guess not quite! Still would recommend for gyros for takeouts. read more

Loud noises I'm not sure from the fridge or the air conditioner, we ordered Shawarma over rice with kofta, and baba Ghanouj. The Shawarma comes in paper plate, the Shawarma taste nothing and dry, and the Kofta was cold, the baba Ghanouj you can only taste tahini. It takes forever until we get the food, the cashier never smile in his life. Not recommended. read more

This place is absolutely disgusting. My chicken shawarma plate was inedible. The grape leaves taste as if they straight up came right out of a can. They up-charge for everything and no sauce with food. Literally some of the worst Middle Eastern food I have ever had, and I am Middle Eastern. Hamati (mother-in-law translated) would definitely be disappointed. The bathroom was so gross. Water every where and seemingly urine. The lack of cleanliness in the bathroom definitely made it seem not hygienic in there at all. The state of the bathroom along with the food definitely makes me feel as if I'll get some type of food related illness. I cannot believe anyone actually eats here regularly. Save yourself the disgust and go to basically any other Middle Eastern place. read more

The food here was amazing. Very flavorful dishes that are truly authentic. The menu is simple to read and the prices are reasonable. The food is cooked to order so you have a 15 minute wait depending what you order. No precooked items on the menu. I would give it 5 stars except they were out of a few things on the menu and it's not a very large list of items to start with. I'd recommend It for a week night dinner for sure. read more

Unfortunately, this is an Arabic restaurant, where they started ok-ish and now they belly-flapped. We went there a few times, and a few times we ordered to-go. The quality of food decreased to something that resembles reheated food. Their kitchen doesn't look clean, and their cooks lack wearing gloves. (I peeked while I picked up a to-go order. Lastly, on another occasion, there was an older female trying to take our order, but her English was so bad, that we couldn't understand a word. I ordered the super gyro. It was lunchtime on black friday. Tables were open, so we ordered and sat down. It took about 20 minutes for tge food to arrive. My gyro was delicious! Im used to typical cold sandwich style gyros, lamb and tzatziki in a pita bread. This was different. It was set up like a wrap. The ingredients were standard, other than the wrap, and it was grilled and pressed, like a panini. It was absolutely delicious. I remember thinking that the food better be worth the wait. It was. I loved the bread for the schwarma. Thin and soft. Delicious! Got a chicken schwarma and will definitely return to try other things. What I would recommend they work on: a better hot sauce option. Discovered this fresh new Mediterranean restaurant and met the owner. We sampled quite a few things from the menu. The Hamati pie is a pita-textured bread with onion and spinach to be dipped in a side of tahini. It was delicious. We also had falafel with a mild creamy hummus. Baba Gannouj was creamy and Smokey and the best I've ever had. It is served with shrak bread, which reminds us of a very thin nan and has a lovely chew. The Kefta plate was a marinated ground beef carved from a kebab. It came served with fluffy long grain rice, toasted almonds, spicy pickles and olives. Everything was fresh. The dining room is sparse but welcoming and the accept takeout orders for customers who want fresh Mediterranean on the run. read more

I came here because of the high reviews. It should not be getting that high of reviews. The food was not great, I was served on paper plates. I ordered Meat Shawarma which was okay, Jerusalem salad was good, the Tabuleh was not very good at all. The young lady at the front was nice and accommodating. The atmosphere is terrible. So I was in the area and was needing to grab some lunch. Really glad I stopped. I had a side of kebbeh with a beef schwarma wrap. Both were delicious and worthy of a repeat visit. Except I'll want to give their other menu items a try. Everything tasted freshly prepared.
