Unfortunately, my food was totally and completely burnt. I called to ask them to take a look at the photo, and they said, "NO!" I asked them to fix the problem, so they took my phone number and hung up. Well, they are going to see it anyway, and so will everyone who reads this review. So been wanting to try this for a while. Came by for dinner on Saturday at 6pm. Not busy, only a couple of families were dining. We tried their Lamb, Filet Mignon & Kofta Skewers, Liver and the cauliflower salad. We were bummed that they ran out of basmati rice. When it was served there's 2 skewers each order a tortilla and a dollop of hummus with a few pickled vegetables. We thought these were small dinner servings.. Midway dinner a server checked up on us and realized they missed giving us all bread that came with the dinner plate in replacement for the basmati. Anyway, the meats were seasoned well. We liked it so we tried to Doordash a few weeks later. Again, they were already out of some of the food at around 5pm. How are they open until 2am and always running out of some of the food? Also they're right next to Krogers. Well, I guess on to our next Mediterranean find. read more

Fast and attentive service, great food! We got a plate of lamb, filet, kofta, and chicken skewers AND a dip spread. Way too much food for two people in one sitting but a great way to try everything! We dined in on a Sunday afternoon and were able to be seated right away. We picked our own table and our server took our orders. We got 2 kebabs (lamb liver and kofta). This came with hummus, pita bread, and pickles. The kofta was delicious and had a nice smokiness. It was slightly salty on its own, but great with hummus and bread. Ordered the lamb liver because it's not a common offering at other restaurants. It tastes like liver and would only recommend to those that like that taste. Drink sold separately (no cup of water like typically restaurants, but we didn't specifically ask). We also ordered a lamb shawarma "sandwich". This is a stuff pita pocket and came with a large portion of fries. Overall good. Fries were decent. The combo also came with a drink. There were a lot of tables that seat up to 4 and 6. First, to be fair, the food tastes amazing. Now onto the 1-star review. When we came in I told the cashier how many people we were expecting. We opted for family trays but he said he would make enough for 11 people. He brought out 3 trays and 5 arayis. These were not clear on the menu. (Like Olive and Lime and Lavash have family trays detailing how many people and cost up front.) We expected similar ball park of $250 for dinners in similar places. Our bill was close to $450 Never going there again. My biggest advice is to ask for the total price before making the order and adjusting accordingly to expected budget. Also, they were understaffed and forgot to bring plates and drinks. read more

I noticed Mashawee Stop as I was leaving Kroger's in Westerville. I put it on my list to try. I reviewed their menu online. Great menu, good prices, nice food selection. I stopped in a few weeks later to give it a try. When I walked in there was no one there. Not at the tables, not at the counter just a big empty dining room but very clean. Not sure what the process was I walked to the counter, grabbed a menu. A guy comes out said hello & ask if I was ready to order. I did have a few questions on about items on the menu. He answered as best as he could. A young lady appears at the counter and me if I am ready to order, would I be eating in. No, carryout. I ordered the chicken livers, I also ordered a lamb skewer, was told that would be served at lunch at 5pm. It was 3pm, usually end of lunch at most restaurants. I ask what is this called, she said breakfast. I work over nights it was my breakfast, not most people that work 8am to 5pm. That might be a turn away for many customers. As I stared at the menu, I ordered foul, the lady ask if I wanted spicy or not. I told her medium spicy. It took about 10 minutes for order to be prepared. Once home I sit down to eat. Chicken liver was very good, foul was a little more on spicy side than I would order, it was good. The food came with a pickled veggies, I picked out what I liked, tried the cauliflower it was roasted, it was good, it not something I would order, eggplant I did not try. The kicker was the Popeyes bag in my carryout. I thought someone had put their lunch in my carryout bag. I opened it and it was pita bread. I will try again and try to go after 5pm, so I can have lunch. read more

Food was good but fell off recently. Soggy, bread was old, sand which was slapped together. I used to go twice a week but not anymore.

I'm so excited to have this wonderful mediterranean restaurant conveniently located on Schrock Road and State Street. The food is absolutely delicious! And their prices are amazing. This family has put their heart into providing a beautiful atmosphere in addition to assembling scrumptious flavors! I have already made myself a regular... and highly recommend it to my Westerville neighbors. We need more great restaurants like Mashawee in our area, so I'm all about supporting this privately owned restaurants. read more

First time visit. Nice decor. Good food. My friend and I went for lunch. We were not greeted so we didn't know the process of the restaurant. Seat our selves, be seated, who knew. We spoke to a young lady behind the counter asking do we seat our selves? How do we order, she handed us one menu and pointed to seat ourselves. She said she wasn't very good with English. No one came to see if we had any questions but finally a server came by. We pointed to our choices and we were told we could only order from the "breakfast" portion of the menu until 5 p.m. so we tried to order and some of the "breakfast " items we could not have, not sure why. The server didn't have good communication skills but one of us managed to understand. We asked for a glass of water each. Our food arrived and it was just set on the table, not to the specific person who ordered. We asked for water, she brought one glass back. Asked for a second glass which she went and got. Then we asked what was what on the table. Our order plus a bowl of something complimentary which was good but didn't know what it was or how to eat it, she also said the water was free. The food was good. No problems. We then had to ask for take out containers and she pointed to the corner to go get it ourselves. We went to the counter to ask for our check, we wanted separate checks. She rang it all up together and told us a total. One of us put on credit card. We handed her a cash tip. Later reviewed the receipt bc we needed to split and found she rounded up the total, not sure what was charged, the glasses of water were not free but $1.99 each. No place on bill to add a tip either. Bottom line, food was good. All else failed. Sorry. read more
