Nice grocery store stocking all the usual items. Big parking lot and convenient location, but store is just a bit small compared to what we are used to. Back home in the Chicago area we like Marianos and Jewel-Osco, and we'd slot this store just a bit under those. Still and all, when you need a quick trip to pick up a few things, this Food-Lion will fit the bill. read more

Great store location! So I've been to a few Food lions around Charlotte to see which is the better store and this may take the cake. This store is clean - had all the products I was looking for and easy to navigate. One of the sections I really liked that I have not recognized in other store is there is a separate section for the salads/vegetables. It's almost like walking into a different part of the store and seeing different options for greens (salads, fruits, vegetables). Each time I came into this store, I would always see staff members keeping the shelves stocked and the floors clean. The location is right off a main highway making it very convenient for shopping. There is also plenty of parking and other stores to go shop in within this plaza. I would highly recommend this location for grocery shopping. read more

I was grabbing takeout from the near by Indian restaurant (give them a try! really good) and while they were preparing it, I stepped across the shopping plaza to Food Lion to grab some beers and other necessities. Clean and bright, unlike some other Lions I've shopped. Produce section was well stocked and it looked fresh. Prices were quite decent. Checkout took a bit (a sudden rush and then someone decided to wait until the end of the transaction to whip our her checkbook. I hate that!). Otherwise, all good. It's South Boulevard, so watch your six. I would return! read more

Nothing seems to work here (except for the people they're great). They have shopping carts that lock if you take them through half their parking lot, so you constantly have tons of loose shopping carts in the middle of the lanes. It seems like their system also has issues with Apple Pay half the time. I never have problems anywhere else but Apple Pay does not work for me at Food Lion. They're constantly out of stock of things and you CANNOT purchase any produce. It's usually a 50/50 shot if what you're getting is actually good, and I would strongly recommend against buying strawberries, grapes, or clementines, as they are always janky. Shopping here is generally anxiety inducing experience. Giving two stars instead of one because the staff is great. read more

While Food Lion is not my first option, it is my first option when I am not feeling like driving to the closest Publix or Harris Teeters, or Whole Foods, and feeling like I want a little more than Aldi (There's a WalMart near me... but fuck that). I've really not much to praise or complain about. Food Lion is really the only middle market chain left in the area after Bi-Lo vacated that space. They have everything I need, they are very affordable, they have a surprisingly good craft beer selection (way better than Publix's for sure). The store is clean, well organized, well stocked, and yeah... good stuff. Some of the cashiers can be a little... sometimes more than a little dry (almost borderline rude), but nowhere near the misanthropic hatred for humanity WalMart cashiers display. Most of the time, you'll have to begin and end simple pleasantries like "thank you" and "please". But really, that's just nitpicking, they're not there to be my BFF. haha! It's convenient and I don't hate it. It's a grocery store. read more

I'm sorry but I'll never feel comfortable when I'm shopping in a grocery store and there is an armed security guard by the door. Other than that it was close to our hotel and they did have a couple specials but nothing that would make me get over excited. The cashier was super nice and she is the only reason I give this two stars. read more

Doesn't have many brands to choose from, very small and disgusting fresh food. All the produce is about to expire or is expired, bread is moldy, and baked goods have mostly gone bad. I wouldn't trust fresh food from here. Canned goods are dented and busted open. Canned foods are probably the safest here. Additionally, the cheese section has a missing door and the cheeses are being kept at room temperature. Disgusting place that needs to be shut down by the health department. read more

Nice enough staff. Cute Assistant Manager. Ladies, he's married so he's just eye candy. That's about all. It seems smaller and they don't turn over produce rapidly so make out with what you need and keep on rolling for the things that can wait. Parking lot is nicely lit and next door to Doan's, a great Pho place. I would rather go to the once near Dilworth/Midtown than trek over to this one. Actually the Beatties Ford location has fresher produce and meat. Yet, again.... Nice staff and a true 2.5 star rating. Nothing higher. For walkers/commuters: 1) Not 2 full blocks from the Light Rail. 2) One block away from Little Casear's 3) Same strip mall has a laundry mat and Pho so you can accomplish a lot 4) Down the road from Aldi's. 5) Around the corner and down the street from Costco. 6) 2.5 miles from the Target on South. read more

I really dislike this store. The only reason I come here is because it's the closest store to where I live. I try to time my trips on the way home from work so I can stop at the one on Park Road at Ideal Way. My mom had to have some food for tomorrow so I had to come here after her doctors appointment today. It was 8pm when I arrived. They close at 10pm. Well because they were stripping the floors tonight, they had moved all the stands of items off the floors. I had to roam all over the store to find where they had moved the bananas. And they apparently had stopped restocking way earlier in the day....lots of empty shelves. Not one single carton of white large eggs. Gee you couldn't wait until you closed and there were no customers in the store??? read more

This Food Lion is always busy. I tend to only stop here when I need a few items, never to do my entire grocery list. The staff is always polite. Produce is generally fresh and in good supply. I have made the mistake of not checking dates on dairy items and have found several expired once home. read more

This simply is NOT a very good store. The ONLY reason I gave it TWO stars is because it's conveniently located to my house. That's it. This really is a one star store...Why? Their produce section is just not very good. Very small and limited selection. Their meat counter is equally lacking in quality choices. Just their overall regular stock of all selections is quite limited for a store this size. Wow, pleasantly surprised. Very clean and well organized. Plenty of staff and even a security guard. Definitely brought up mixed feelings, shopping with needed security. There's only one way in and one way out. I guess it's to streamline the flow or for safety. If you're looking for customer service, however, it is all business getting you in and out. They have popular name brand items up to a dollar cheaper than high end grocery stores. Also, their own brand is a great deal on the pocket book. Convenient location off of South Boulevard and shares a lot with other delicious restaurants. read more

Fatima, worst customer service manager ever. They were extremely rude towards me and acted like they knew it all. Treated customer like shit. They didnt explain anything and they didn't even know what they were doing honestly. Another manager did better than them at explaining to a customer in a calm manner rather than raising their voice and trying to make the customer seem stupid. read more

None of the employees are wearing masks covering their faces. They have a sign on the door saying masks are mandatory but the overarmed security officer who is under 5 feet tall doesn't enforce the legal order. I walked through the store and out of about 40 to 50 customers atthe time I could only find one other person wearing a mask and they were in their 70's. I will never shop at this store ever again, and will suggest the same to everyone I know. read more

This store has the NICEST empolyees, from the Manage on down; just so helpful and pleasant! On top of that, they have really upgraded the store recently and carry lots more higher end things, including my favorite beet juice. Produce section is vastly improved. Store brand items are excellant; just love their fat free Greek yogurt. It's become my favorite store; I only frequent higher end stores when I am looking for some obscure item. read more

I love shopping at Food Lion when I visit NC, they have excellent prices and this Food Lion was very nice and clean inside, employees were friendly but because it's so nice, it's always crowded, they could use some extra cashiers in the morning and near end of shift hours. Even when buying things like body wash here, it's fairly cheap considering it's being bought from such a nice grocery store. You really do save a lot of money by shopping here especially when using your MVP card. read more

I dread having to go into this store, the staff are very rude and are so slow. I only go into this place if I'm desperate.. The store is semi clean and shopping carts are always all over the parking lot. So be careful where you park, unless you want a dent in your car. The parking lot is very hectic to get into and out of so be prepared to drive defensively. Overall only go if you really need to. read more

This place is awful, they have gossipy and loud workers that are lazy and rude to customers and they pretend to be about serving the customers but really they just don't know how to communicate with people. They do have a decent selection of food items and good sales and savings but their employees are immature and unprofessional. I also see how they train others and they do not know what they're doing it seems like they rush people and talk behind their backs...I've heard and seen some things because I shop here frequently. read more

This Food Lion has gone through major changes this year. I am impressed not only with the remodel, but with the quality of produce and the variety of gluten free and organic food options. They have stepped up their game to stay competitive with the surrounding grocery stores. The staff has always been nice to me and there seems to be plenty of staff on the floor, which is great for when I have questions... someone is always nearby. Great changes and weekly deals will make this store my go-to grocery store now. read more

I recently was in this store in the evening during the week; it was not busy at all. I purchased a few things and went to check out. I noticed that two of the items did not ring up the price that was on the shelf and were about 3times more. The casher and myself went back to check the price of the item, there was no sticker on any shelf in the section for the price it ran up as. The casher took me to customer service for a price adjustment. When management came he would not do the adjustment because he stated that is the price on the self is incorrect. I spent about 30 minutes waiting for management to go around the store and come back to Customer Service without any intention on satisfying the incorrect price. Management admitted to not finding the correct sticker anywhere in the section but still stated that he could not do the adjustment. He continued to say that they just reprinted tickets that morning so knows there was a ticket there. My experiences as a professional Loss Prevention Specialist lead me to believe that the manager was implying unethical doings on my behalf. I asked the manager if I am being held at fault for a mistake that was not mine and he stated that there is nothing that he can do. In the end I had to ask twice to refund my entire order and planned on spending my money at a quality store that values their customers. That manager made me feel like the imperfections in his store were my problem, not his. read more
