And we did make sure to order it crispy like it said to and it wasn't. Looked like it was a little browned but even my young son said the fat isn't rendered. I think it would have been a lot better if it had been crispy like in other pictures on here. Disappointed. It's like $35. Not cheap. The beef with sauce (sauerbraten) was good, the sauce great, the beef ok. The special that was going on, the beef roulade. Nobody liked it at all. The stuff just didn't taste good together in it. Overall, it was a good experience. The waitress Rosie was amazing, most of the food was great to awesome. The ambiance was German and cozy. Our favorites: the curry wurst sauce, the saurkraut and red cabbage and the stuffed cabbage rolls.

For my entrée, I ordered the swordfish special. It was fresh, flavorful, and not fishy at all. The fish was incredibly tender and cut like butter. My only complaint was that the portion size was a little small. For dessert, we ordered the crème brûlée, muddy bottom pie, and cheesecake. All three desserts were excellent, but the crème brûlée was the standout. The creamy custard paired perfectly with the crisp caramelized sugar topping. Overall, we had a great dining experience. My wife tried the French Onion soup which she said was very good also. I asked the waitress to recommend a house specialty. She provided a few choices including the pot roast which I ordered. The pot roast came with mashed potatoes, cut carrots, and peas all covered in a very good pot roast gravy. I would recommend. My wife had the fried chicken which she said was very good. I tasted her chicken which I will have during a future visit. I look forward to returning to try many of the other available entrées.

The students we've interacted with on our visits always have been pleasant and helpful. The price is incredibly reasonable, and I feel like they could absolutely charge more than they do! The only downside, and it's a small one, is that I feel like some of the furnishings could be updated (new carpets, etc), as it feels a little dated. That said, it's a college restaurant, and it doesn't really make sense to update some of that stuff unless it's actually necessary.
