I can only really speak for their Happy Hour, but that alone is worth a visit. A group of 10 coworkers decided to head out for drinks after work one day, and after much contemplatio,n we decided on Brooks. Not only do they have happy hour every day, but they also have daily specials. I truly do believe we ordered two of every bite we could on the HH menu. It was all fabulous! It came out in a timely manner, drinks kept flowing, and it was shockingly affordable. , With all the items we ordered, we were quite surprised to pay under $40 a person, including a proper tip. This is definitely a restaurant we have at the top of our list for next happy hour. I'm also looking forward to experiencing a full meal here, if they do apps that good, I'm sure their other options won't disappoint. read more

Brook's Kitchen & Tap is an interesting spot that has, unfortunately, fallen prey to video slots - changing the whole feel of the place. The outside, entry, dining room, and even bar area are all outfit in an upscale dining experience feel. Sadly, the wall of video slots on the near wall of the bar sends the entire establishment down several notches. The menu, too, has options that want to be better than the character the are forced to embody. We enjoyed the options and the food itself, despite some painfully SLOW service..., and I certainly recommend it on that basis alone. However, be prepared for the downside. Between the ambiance downgrade and the slow service I will continue my hunt for new dinner spots around the area. read more

We were early so the place was pretty empty but the food and service were excellent so I'd imagine during normal meal hours it would be busy. They also have a large outdoor patio area off the bar. I came on a Tuesday for Happy Hour with a group of five. I started with an Old Fashioned off their Happy Hour Menu. Overall, it tasted good but wasn't your typical presentation. My friend got the House Marg and was happy they could add flavors to elevate the taste. Within our group, a couple of people split a bottle of their Freakshow Red Blend as it seemed to be the best value on the reds list. It was very tasty and I would definitely get it again! For food, we got quite a bit of different appetizers to share. Portions were appropriate to the happy hour pricing sections. Our group's favorites were the Classic Bruschetta, Steak Taco, Burger Sliders & Cheese Curds. Overall, this was a great spot to enjoy catching up with friends. Good portions, always fresh and priced fairly compared to similar gastropub type places. I do have a small beef with a recent fry change. They had these amazing fries that were like a curly fry version of a fat steak fry. Perfect portion and different from the norm. They've recently switched to a more typical fry, they're good...but they were perfect. Service is friendly and attentive and it's usually pretty calm inside. Looking for a new place the other weekend, we tried Brook's. We were there on a Saturday night (NCAA weekend) and it wasn't overly crowded during the 6 pm hour - which is concerning and I hope they're doing well. We liked the place. Our server was really good - very very friendly. Atmosphere of the place is quite nice - airy and several TVs to let you watch the games. Their outside patio is huge! I can't wait for warmer months. We would definitely be back - I'm assuming they allow dogs, but forgot to ask. As for drinks/menu - I have to start with my drink. Basic - but it was the raspberry martini. You're probably saying "why mention this basic drink?" It was outstanding! Beautiful glass and the drink went down so smoothly - that I ordered a second. As for food - we got the Garlic Shrimp Tacos and the Keto Bowl. The tacos were full to the max in them and I enjoyed it. My husband liked his keto bowl too. Dropped into Brook's the other night. It was not real busy, so we ended up in a section by ourselves. After about 20 minutes, we started wondering where our server was. Then he came running up and apologized for forgetting us, explaining that he was in the middle of something when we came in so he asked the host to get us water (which she did), and then forgot to follow up. An understandable mistake, and when he offered us a free appetizer to make up for it, we felt like the problem was well handled. The restaurant is bright and roomy, more so when not busy. Big TVs showed sports. They have a large selection of draft beers and cocktails, including non-alcoholic kid versions, which really tickled our little ones. The food came out promptly, and was good. We enjoyed the baked brie and pirogi appetizers, and our steaks and mashed potatoes were delicious. I was less happy with the broccoli side, which was just steamed and not especially seasoned, and the steak fries were a little mealy, like maybe they had been frozen at some point. Nonetheless our waiter was very friendly and made us feel like we didn't have to rush to order or eat our food. To drink i ordered the Raspberry Martini. It was very good and you can taste the alcohol. For an appetizer we order the italian beef egg rolls. OMG talk about delicious. The egg roll was crispy,the Italian beef was juicy and hint of giardinera with every bite made it soo good. I would definitely order this app again. For an entree I order the spicy chicken tortellini. Also very good. The sauce was good creamy and you can taste the spice throughout. We went on a sat night with 5 adults and 2 kiddos, rather early, 5:30 but it was perfect. Our waiter Anthony was awesome letting us know the happy hour specials and made sure the kiddos were also taken care of. Our onion rings and delish cheese curds came out after our drink order, birthday dirty tito martini, dinner, mix of buffalo chicken and margarita flat breads, burger, honey salmon and phily cheese steak were all very good. It's not that far from one of my favorite malls, Oakbrook. I tried the Truffle Fries with extra garlic aioli sauce and Italian Beef Egg Rolls with the au ju sauce they both were Phenomenal!! I love Italian beef sandwiches so I was glad I tried the egg rolls. I also tried the Purple Smoke drink which was really cute but not my cup of tea tasted like medicine to me. The lady manager/bar tender explained that this drink is an acquired taste, it has a smoky taste and I can't remember the exact ingredient that's in it. But there is one particular ingredient that she said you like or don't. I definitely don't!! So I switched to a Raspberry Martini which was amazing. The waiter was really nice. And when the official bartender arrived he was great too! They both provided great customer service. I'm sorry I don't remember the names. But we were there on Sunday Jan 28th 2024 about 2pm. So whoever was the server on the bar side and the tall bartender were great!!! Stopped in tonight for the first time. The decor lacked any ambience, but the food we had was surprisingly good. My wife had the salmon dish which she raved about the entire time she was eating it. It is now several hours later and she is still raving about it. I had the shrimp tacos, which were excellent. The shrimp was not overcooked, which is a rare thing , and the slaw, avocado, and grilled onions ticked off a number of buttons in the flavor profile. We will go back again read more

First and foremost the food was great, presentation was on point! The Summer Burrata was a fabulous starter to share, I'm like a broken record but this was really presented well and taste was amazing, very well rounded. You make your own bruschetta toast but don't skip any thing on the plate! My MIL and I both ordered the Short Rib Barbacoa, the mashed potato's flavor and texture was perfect the roasted peppers and onions cooked to perfection and the short ribs were falling apart with tenderness and yet holding together prior to eating. The rub on gave it the perfect amount of kick and savory flavor while the peppers onions balance it out with a slightly sweet reduction. My aunt got the Rosemary chicken, she said it was very good and it looked like it was. I will be trying that next. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. A couple of caveats that I'm sure will be noted for the future as this place deserves to stay. First it was lunchtime I almost didn't think they were open and the hostess wasn't at the reception desk, also the parking lot looked empty (1:30pm). Maybe parking some cars out front to look more inviting as we almost left based on it looking empty. The thought that nobody was there couldn't be a good sign. Second the hard rock/heavy metal music was too loud (we would've had to be yelling to talk to each other over the table to hear) and it gave more of the bar atmosphere. After asking a couple of times the volume was adjusted and music was changed. Lastly their were a few items that they were out of, that would be helpful knowledge prior to making our menu selections and being disappointed when we could t order them. I will definitely be back, I hope this restaurant succeeds as historically this has been a tough location for restaurants. read more
