Love love love the poke here! Our go to during our visit here, we probably came here 3-4 times in the week that we were here. The poke here is really fresh and they have tons of selections. Our favorites: Kpop salmon (slightly spicy/sweet, and even tasted almost meaty with the marinade) shoyu ahi, and the California roll ahi. Don't skip out on the seaweed salad and the Mac salad (from the hot foods section). I got both a half pound as well as their bowls, and they PACK the bowls with poke. Definitely a great option if you want rice. Lines were never super long during lunch. No outdoor seating, but there is a park right across the street. read more

Supermarket has everything you expect for it to have but prices are a little higher of course than sometimes Safeway and Walmart. Service is ok, not much to expect from the staff. This is a great place to stock up on souvenirs and food! The poke is phenomenal! Don't go cheap, the $15lb was from frozen. The fresh is closer to $30 but totally worth it! The line was down the aisle but moved fast. We also got some short ribs to grill which were ok and edamame that was really good! This Foodland is historic for me, as it marked my 100th grocery store rotisserie chicken of the year. It just worked out that we took a family vacation right when I was set to hit the century mark. I could sit here and gush about this whole journey and how much it has meant to me, how it took me from 2k IG followers to 111k, and how it genuinely did change my life, but I've done that enough on other reviews. I'm going to let it rest. A whole tissi ran $12.29 and it ended up landing at 8.8/10, which ranks it a respectable 16th out of 100 grocery store tissis I've tried. I also got the poke from here, which was PHENOMENAL. The spicy garlic ahi went insane. I never thought I'd be using these adjectives to describe grocery store fish, but Hawaii is built different. On my 3rd trip to Foodland in 10 days, I ended up trying every musubi they had as I've never seen another grocery store that sells musubis. It got me thinking about how much I love a regional grocery store, as they give you a granular look into the local culture. I learned a lot. I learned that spam musubis are so popular in Hawaii because during WWII, fresh meat was scarce as Hawaiian shipping lines were disrupted and the US Military brought in large quantities of spam. Hawaiians began creatively incorporating it into local cuisine... interesting facts like these always send me down the craziest rabbit holes. Anyways, shoutout to Foodland. I visited a different Foodland everyday on my visit to Maui. At this location, I grabbed a beet poke bowl for my plane ride home and I also tried the by the pound breakfast. I tried the rice, egg, and Portuguese sausage. It was average tasting, but I like the by the pound price as my breakfast was around $4.00 and I didn't have to worry about having left overs. Loved Foodland in Kihei back in July 2015, and definitely over multiple visits late August 2025 a decade later. Nice, well stocked store and used by locals and visitors alike. Pleasant staff too! Small selection of poke compared to the other two locations on the island. Either they ran out some poke already, or their counter just can't hold as much. They didn't have any FRESH spicy ahi. So I got the regular preciously frozen. Very good yes ? My wife has been getting the CA ahi poke , loves it. Oh and the mochi is great! Got the original version this time. This Foodland store is filthy and it smells. The prices are outrageous compared to Safeway. A $1.30 for a small single lime or $10.00 for a loaf of bread, what a joke. We are back again this year to purchase their coconut pie. I would like the crust to be a bit more crisp, but it's still delicious. The Chocolate Haupia pie was good too, but not as sweet as expected. This year we picked up a roasted chicken which we made several meals with it including sandwiches and toppings for salad. They also had some coconut chips for $2 per bag, a bargain compared what we've both elsewhere. They also have a good selection of produce. It looks like a kind of rundown place, but don't let that fool you. Check it out if you're needing groceries. read more

Easter to find off s Kihei road. Private parking lot which is nice. Be sure to grab a cart outside if you need one. Sign up for their rewards program there are bargains for being a member. They have a great poke bar in the back with helpful clerks to help you make a decision. On Fridays they have $6 specials-if you're a member of their rewards program. Great deals in the deli that day also, clerks there are super helpful if you have any questions. They charge for bags so you need to bring your own if you want to save a few cents. I came here 4 times before finally getting my poke!!! The first time, being tourists, we didn't know the poke was located in the back so I only looked in the front. Foodland has the best poke ever. It's a market and inside they have very fresh poke available. We had so many different kinds everyday and everything was so good. Foodland was closeby to our hotel so we probably tried about 6 different types of poke. The poke is perfection with the Ono giant shrimp chips. They sell it at Costco or Foodland. Don't let the outside fool you.... inside is a well run, clean store that was a great to get fruit & snacks. Stopped for fruit, ended up with cucumbers, tomatoes, drinks, crackers, cheese, cheese and salami & cheese. Was checking out when I noticed someone else getting a sweet bowl of poki. Guess what...a poke bar in the back of the store with different varieties. $13 for a lunch size bowl with rice. Loving their Fruday Specials! Foodland helps to keep us from breaking the bank with their weekly bargains. Last Friday we visited Foidland after the power returned (stormy night caused problems. We snagged a package of boneless skinless chicken breasts for $2/lb. That's a price that's hard to believe. We'll get a lot of meals out of that. The poke counter (which is always drawing me in) had imitation crab salad and imitation crab poke for $6/lb. We got a half pound of each. They both tasted very good but I did prefer the poke because it was spicy. From the deli, we scored a couple of mini plates of orange chicken with rice. The chicken pieces were small and the breading was thin, so it was to my liking. The orange sauce was tangy. Better than Panda, if you ask me. Great lunch serving for $6. We look snagged a couple of 8 packs of LA Croix fruit flavored sparkling water. We chose the passion fruit and black razzberry flavors. They were 2/$6. After a failed attempt to get fresh poke a the Foodland in Waikiki, we tried our luck at this Foodland and had great success. These poke were delicious and as fresh as it can get. We got two poke bowls, which we got to choose two different poke each, so four in total. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the choices. We got the California Roll Ahi Poke, Spicy Ahi Poke, Hawaiian Style Ahi Poke, and Wasabi Ahi Poke. All of them were fantastic. Just be careful with the Wasabi one as your nostril will burn. I also got a half pint of the imitation crab, which was also delicious. There were two different choices, which we couldn't decide which one to get, so the lady decided to just give us both. This was absolutely delicious and may have liked this more than the poke itself. read more

Came here for the poke and the first thing I noticed was how it was more affordable than some other places I went to. They have the option of both previously frozen and non frozen poke and I tried both. I noticed that I did prefer the texture of the non frozen and it reminded me of sushi a bit more. Fried chicken skin at the hot food counter. Just get it. They're more like chicharrones and less like KFC skin. Skip the prepackaged ones in a plastic bag/container on a table - those get soft and chewy waaay quicker than the freshly filled breathable paper bag from the counter, which has stayed crispy even a day later. Poke counter is a little small, but still has some variety of both fresh and previously frozen fish. Fork out for the fresh, or buy some of each so you can see for yourself.
