My friend told me they stocked a few overseas goods so I went in to check it out, and found quite a few interesting items, a little expensive but if you are looking for a treat you have found the place. Marzipan chocolate, British chutneys, Heinz Baked Beans, French cornichons and Italian pasta and pesto. There are a few deals on general groceries to be found, but mostly still more expensive than Costco. Great selection of Asian groceries, however IGD in Lahaina have a similar selection which is cheaper. I didn't buy poke as it was later afternoon and I like it fresh as possible. The ladies helping us out were quick and generous with the portions. I got the rice bowl with crispy onion poke (2 scoops). My boyfriend got the rice bowl with chili garlic poke (1 scoop). I didn't realize not all Foodland had the same flavors. I didn't to go another one down on Kihei to find out they did not have the crispy onion. Fresh poke on the cheaps?!? I'm totally down! Foodland has the poke dialed in at this location. Go to the very back of the store to find the poke station. We got a 1/2 pound of 4 varieties. It came out to around $6 per 1/2 pound depending on what you are getting. My hands-down favorite was the Maui onion crunch poke. So flavorful! You can also get rice as well at around $1 per scoop. We also got some cucumber salad from the deli and close out carrot cake for $.89. What a deal! One minus is that there is no place to eat the poke inside or outside the store. We had to eat them in the car. Take out only! Maui is extremely expensive to eat out but Foodland's poke can definitely save some cash from your wallet. 10-stars if they had them on Yelp! read more

We've stopped at foodland several times during our stay to pick up alcohol, snacks, candy and food. I also did my souvenir shopping here: guava and lilikoi flavored things such as, Hawaiian sun powder drinks, pancake mixes, jellies and jams, cookies, macadamia nuts, li hing candy, hurricane popcorn and among others. Also get your poke here from the deli counter. It's a must. So good and great to share. Some of the mayo based poke can be very creamy and saucy. We get a few tubs of it every time. Lots of variety. On a Saturday trip they were barbecuing in the parking lot and selling trays of food such as ribs and frying up calamari. Great for the beach and reasonably priced especially if split among your group. I don't recommend the spam musubi tho. It was a thin piece of spam with lots of bland rice. read more

They finally found my order but they forgot to make the cake! I waited while they called the baker to find out what happened . I ended up having to pick a cake that was already made and a worker (not a baker) tried to add the writing on the cake. They were very apologetic and tried their best to provide an alternative. This review is just for the Deli food I purchased for lunch today........I came to Foodland Kehalani today, to go to the American Savings Bank (which is inside the supermarket) to make an appointment to do some software/hardware upgrades. While I was in the supermarket, I decided to pick up something fast to eat today, and that's how I ended up in the deli department. I saw a bunch of pre-made mini bento's and decided it was cheap enough to give it a try............BIG MISTAKE! I picked up a mini bento that had a fried chicken thigh, with a piece of spam on white rice.......all of this for just $4.99 with a Maika'i Card..........I also picked up a 20 oz. bottled Dasani Water $2.19, and an extra piece of fried chicken breast $2.49 (I like breast) then the next thing you know...........the bill came out to $10.13. What was I thinking? I opened my bento and ate the spam...... and from there, I tried some of the white rice, this is where it all went downhill for me.........the bento I picked up was probably sitting under the heat lamp FOREVER! When I was trying to eat my rice, I noticed the bottom edges had a brownish tinge to it. When I scoped up the rice to eat, it was hard as a rock! I spit it out, and that was it for the rice. I then proceeded to eat my fried chicken, and when I bit into it.........although the texture was crunchy, I noticed it was excessively salty! YUCK! What a waste of $10 bucks for lunch! I could have gone someplace else and got a good plate lunch instead! Oh well, that will be the last time I will be going to the deli, that's for sure! I must say.......the new Foodland store is beautiful! It kinda reminds me of the new Safeway lifestyle stores. read more

So in the back, where the seafood is, there's any amazing selection of poke. You can choose from so many varieties and this time around I got the wasabi tuna, the aloha poke (staple) and spicy tuna (basically spicy mayo and green onions). You order it by weight and you can try allllll the samples you want before deciding on the ones you want. Make rice at home, enjoy some poke and watch the sunset. Mcdonalds is close by and also the coffee shop. The staff are okay I guess. Some what helpful at times when you need it. Bring your own reusable bag for 5 cents off your bill or 3 miles on hawaiian air. I always do the mileage. Eh every little but helps. Plus If you shop a lot and use your maikai card you will earn a reward which you can redeem for 200 hawaiian miles or a product of the week and/or I think 5% off your bill. I like to save mines so when it's double hawaiian miles you get 400 miles per reward. read more

I received 5 star treatment at the seafood department this afternoon. Lines are never long at Foodland so I was helped right away at the seafood department counter. The gentleman who looked experienced helped me with my poke bowl order. I asked if he could get me some onions in the scoop of kimchee mussel I was ordering and instead of just picking from the tray he cut up some fresh onions and sprinkled them in. What awesome service! I really have gotten used to Foodland's dedication to ending long lines and opening check lanes when lines get long that I can't and don't have the patience to shop any where else. Thank goodness this growing area finally has a grocery store of its own! After Ooka's closed down, there was only 1 grocer in the area for years, which is part of the same company, but was located all the way out nearly in Waiehu. No, it's not far compared to normal standards, but is for Maui! The inside looks, feels, and is laid out just like their Sack N Save brand in the aforementioned. They definitely have more inventory than the Kahului store, including a fresh meat counter, kimchee bar, fresh olive bar, and a bigger hot foods department. Another one-up is the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf with drive thru which is attached to the building. There's also an American Savings Bank inside. Service was quick and friendly, and parking was plentiful. OVERALL: Nice new digs for the grocery store that carries more local offerings than Safeway. read more

This is a pretty large Foodland location on Maui and is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Prices are slightly more expensive compared to the locations on Oahu, but what do you expect anyway? Anyway, this location has pretty much all the groceries that you need, and there is also a deli and bakery department. Parking is plentiful as well. read more

This Foodland is huge! Though it's located on busy Front Street, it's actually at the end of it away from all the tourist spots and it's in a large strip mall with it's own parking lot. There's a valet parking for the restaurant that it shares with, so don't get suckered into it when you can just drive to the front of the store and get plenty of parking there. If you're visiting like me, this is an amazing place to start especially if you don't need Costco sized portion items. Foodland is basically the Asian Safeway but also their main grocery store here on the island, especially this side of Lahaina. You need a membership for a rewards card (which they only need your phone number). The deals are amazing and perfect. I came for the fresh poke by the pound and it's seriously the most amazing thing to come from here. There's so many different flavors and it's extremely fresh. There are so many different sizes you get from 1/4 pound to the full pound to more. It is on average 11.99 a pound or if you get 2lbs or more it's 9.99. Side of rice is .99 a pound I believe your choice of white or brown or mixed. You can get a bowl which is 1.3 pound of poke over rice. They have everything else that you need here from fresh groceries, alcohol, baked goods, SPAM, I mean anything you need and can think of they have it. Their prices are super decent and fair. Make sure you stop in for your snacks, food, and just whatever you might need. I got here and there was a spam sale! 4 for $9 that's unhearddddd of and extremeley cheap for Hawaii food and just spam in general. read more
