    Ahi poke
    Marshall G.

Back again at this wonderful store. Of course fresh Poke, I want it every day. This time, spicey Ahi Tuna, California Roll Poke and Octopus. But we needed staples too and repay the coffee I used up this week from our host. So far. All good.

Their fresh poke is WONDERFUL. One of the best poke options you'll try. Reasonable prices and everything is organized.

We always pick up local grindz before flying back to the Bay Area. We drove over to Wailuku to a suggested store. Closed. Now what. Let's go to Foodland and pick up our favorite- spam musubi. So we did. Price increase since our last visit - now $2.69. In 2022 was $2.29.

While in Wailuku, we looked up the best poke spots and the Foodland held the crown from what we found so we decided to give it a try. At the back of the store there is a poke deli with every type of poke you could think of. The pricing is also super reasonable for poke! I loved the crispy onion ahi and the kimchi squid poke. This was AMAZING poke!

WAILUKU, HI 96793 / GROCERIES / 10-28-23 / TAKEOUT LUNCH, SNACKS +This Foodland location looks a bit newer and bigger compared to the other ones in Maui. +They had poke and fully stocked hot food bar area along with a fully loaded deli station.

Best poke on island. The aunties who work there are so sweet however everything I go into the store there is barely any registers open so wait time does take a little bit but it's worth it. The soybeans are my down right favorite

This place has killer poke!!! I've had it many times visiting Maui and will continue because of its great price and taste. It's super easy and fast if you need a quick poke bowl. It is a grocery store so no place to sit down and eat.

Fresh poke on the cheaps?!? I'm totally down! Foodland has the poke dialed in at this location. Go to the very back of the store to find the poke station. We got a 1/2 pound of 4 varieties. It came out to around $6 per 1/2 pound depending on what you are getting. My hands-down favorite was the Maui onion crunch poke. So flavorful! You can also get rice as well at around $1 per scoop. We also got some cucumber salad from the deli and close out carrot cake for $.89. What a deal! One minus is that there is no place to eat the poke inside or outside the store. We had to eat them in the car. Take out only! Maui is extremely expensive to eat out but Foodland's poke can definitely save some cash from your wallet. 10-stars if they had them on Yelp!

We've stopped at foodland several times during our stay to pick up alcohol, snacks, candy and food. I also did my souvenir shopping here: guava and lilikoi flavored things such as, Hawaiian sun powder drinks, pancake mixes, jellies and jams, cookies, macadamia nuts, li hing candy, hurricane popcorn and among others. Also get your poke here from the deli counter. It's a must. So good and great to share. Some of the mayo based poke can be very creamy and saucy. We get a few tubs of it every time. Lots of variety. On a Saturday trip they were barbecuing in the parking lot and selling trays of food such as ribs and frying up calamari. Great for the beach and reasonably priced especially if split among your group. I don't recommend the spam musubi tho. It was a thin piece of spam with lots of bland rice.

The ahi had that soft, buttery texture you want, and the seasoning was on point. Service was quick and super polite. There wasn't much of a line when we went, and we got everything pretty quickly. What we got: Garlic Crispy Ahi - 9/10 Big fan of the texture and flavor. The ahi was super fresh and buttery with a nice garlic flavor. It needed just a little extra soy sauce for me, but other than that, so good! Limu Poke - 7/10 My sister actually preferred this one out of the two. Solid flavor and another great option. We got a half pound of each, and it came out to around $30 total. Definitely on the more expensive side for poke, but the quality made it worth it. Highly recommend stopping by if you're looking for fresh poke in Maui!

My wife (super picky when it comes to poke) and I loved it. We eat a lot of poke, and this ranks near the top of our list. The fish was super fresh with excellent texture and really hit the spot. We ordered 0.25 pounds of the Fresh Ahi Ninja and 0.75 pounds of the Fresh Ahi Tamura's Sauce. The Ninja had a slight kick in a good way and leaned more toward a shoyu flavor. The Tamura's was lighter but still had really good flavor. Our family loved both of them, and we killed both. We ate it with a bag of Hawaiian Chip Company Sweet Potato and Taro Chips from the nearby Costco, which was the perfect combo. Would highly recommend, and we will definitely be back!!

Luckily I had an extra set of eyes helping me look lol. I've been following this store on Facebook and what got my need to come here was the fact that they are now selling ube butter mochi!!! Yay!!! The store rep was very pleasant and was quick to offer assistance! This store has so many different Asian products! Not to mention a wide variety of longanisa sausages, fish, meats, etc.... I was able to get what I came here for (ube butter mochi) and a few more items. Sad to say I did have to share with my husband haha... My only complaint is the butter mochi wasn't cut into pieces, it was just a really big slice placed in a plastic container. Hopefully they will be able to fix that, then again maybe it's not meant for sharing!!! Lol My overall experience here was great! So, if you are looking for a one stop Asian store this is it!!! And don't forget to try that ube butter mochi!!!

I've been lucky to come across some fresh Moloka'i prawns here for a reasonable price. They also have a huge inventory of Filipino products from frozen to "fresh". I've gone here for some delicious longanisa, dilis (baby anchovies), vegetables and preserved items. Not to mention the Filipino desserts waiting at the check out counter enticing you to buy some for the drive home.
