It was my first time in, and when my son was brought back they gave me a tour and reviewed what would be taking place during his examination. I returned to the waiting room (very clean and comfortable) and waited for the duration of his checkup. When my son was finished they brought him up to the lobby- he was smiling from ear to ear, thrilled with his goody bag and headed straight to the game area. This part is very important! The doctor (Dr. Abby) took the time and sat with me, reviewed X-rays, and went in depth about the treatment my child would need- AWAY FROM MY CHILD. We have been to offices before where they blurt out what needs to happen and it's very scary for little listening ears. I appreciated this small detail so much. From that point, I waited a few minutes until the treatment plan was ready, it was reviewed with me at the counter (again my child was busy playing games so he wasn't involved in the adult stuff) and then the next appointment was made. From start to finish I cannot express how wonderful of an office, and experience this was. Dental work can be one of those things we'd like to put off, but you can't do that for your kids…read more They really need to get in a good habit early on with seeing the dentist regularly, at least every 6 months. I did that with my 3. My oldest started seeing Dr. Thomas at Just for Kids when she was 4 years old and I still regret not coming in earlier than that. The other 2 did start earlier. Kids need regular checkups are still likely to get cavities, but when you go to a great facility with experienced dentists, your kids are going to get great treatment. They probably won't like it, but they'll thank you later when they still have all their own teeth. My youngest is just wrapping up her time at Just for Kids. She was recently seen by Dr. Patwari and told me he was very nice. Soon she will move to Midtown Family Dentistry next door. She is starting to get too big for a kid's place. Don't hesitate to make Just for Kids your kid's place for dental checkups.

Where do I start? As an influencer and former model, I decided to work on my teeth, which needed a…read moretouch up. I began this journey in my late twenties because my wisdom teeth had come in very late. I chose to work with Thurman for two reasons. First, there were free AirPods offered, with Christmas right around the corner. Second, I needed to fix one discolored tooth, which was only possible if my wisdom teeth were extracted and my teeth were straightened. My siblings had a pleasant experience with Thurman, while I had a somewhat okay one. It wasn't perfect, but any issues were corrected in the most professional way in the end. Let me start with the establishment. It is an attractive place--very roomy, comfortable, and, to say the least, very clean. Now, regarding the owner: I had zero issues communicating with Thurman; he's a very nice guy. However, I didn't see him often because he tends to every person there, which was fine. His occasional appearances did not impede my dental journey, as he provides the final evaluation. The finance department was very communicative regarding my payments and also quite nice. However, one day during a visit, I had an uncomfortable conversation with one staff member. As I sat in the chair during a follow-up, I was told--not nicely--that the Invisalign treatments would be my last new set. My year-and-a-half-long journey had extended to three and a half years, and let's face it, we're all human, and things happen. I probably had four to five new sets of aligners, one of which stemmed from a chipped tooth that affected one of these sets. I opted for Invisalign because I create a lot of social media content and work with major brands like Sephora and Ulta, but I must share that Invisalign is not for the weak. They are mandatory to wear almost 24 hours a day. Unfortunately, this did not work out for me. Because of this, I started avoiding my appointments altogether. My stubborn tooth just wouldn't budge. I went back to some previous trays on my own, as I had it in my mind that these "were the last sets of aligners," and I wanted to avoid any more uncomfortable situations. This was a reasonable outcome from my decision to ghost Thurman, but I received a letter stating that I needed to find a new orthodontist (no complaints). I reached out to the finance department because I had paid for my Invisalign in full and wanted to request a partial refund for my permanent retainer (the one you receive upon completing the Invisalign journey). I was tossed around on calls for part of the day- not long and eventually, I spoke with a very nice supervisor who had a heart-to-heart with me. She seemed to understand the issues I was facing with the Invisalign and my disappointment about having a stubborn tooth that just wouldn't cooperate. I was encouraged to come back in and not to worry; Thurman would take it from there. I had a very pleasant experience recently, and Thurman agreed that my teeth wouldn't require another set of aligners, as I had tried it multiple times without achieving the expected results, although I did show some improvement. I transitioned into braces almost abruptly and will now be on them for two months to correct my stubborn tooth. If it doesn't improve in that time, I may need them for up an additional two months. Fortunately, I'm not creating content as much as I was when I started this journey, but I am very satisfied with the level of care I received from Thurman, his team leaders, and how they listened to my concerns. They talked me through all of the options we had, they comforted my son, ensured he was comfortable and fully numb before extracting the tooth.
