The Nike shoes were in the front near the door. The Crocs were closer to the back of the store. There was a pair of Nikes that I was interested in. It wasn't on sale at the store, but it was on sale at Nike.com. It's good to see it in person before ordering it online. Too bad the Nike store that was in Waikiki closed. My sister and I are local and we just mentioned to her in the middle of the transcation... " do you have Kamaʻāina discount?". We both were looking for new running shoes and had to flag down a team member to do so as they were all talking in the middle of the store. Definitely weren't being attentive to their customers. Came here to look for new shoes with my MIL. The store has two sections. The men's and children, then the women's side. We went to the women's side. There was no salesperson on that side so when we wanted to try a specific shoe and size, I had to go to the other side to wave down a person. This person was not helping anyone, and was at the check out on her PHONE. She was quick to put it down though and came on our side. When someone came back to bring the shoe to try on, it was a different sales lady. This lady had no customer service either. Her attitude was not friendly at all. My MIL tried the shoe, and the same sales lady walked passed us, and didn't even ask us how we were doing. It's like she hates her job. I mean like okay, she probably does, BUT she could've at least given us the customer service that we would've liked. Like a simple smile and check in. So helpful and I found my Jordan's me and my hubby actually got matching shoes:) and they were on sale! They also do military discounts which is one of the reasons I am usually drawn to these kinds of stores they are so awesome and do a great job ensuring the military gets the discount! There was so many nice pairs of high quality shoes almost all were on sale! I pretty much h knew what I wanted so we were in and out pretty quick! This review is for this location AND for the International Marketplace store on 9.28.24. HORRIBLE customer service. I went to the International Marketplace location first around 6:30pm. Employees (2 guys & 1 girl) just standing around on their phones NOT helping or even acknowledging the customers in the store. I finally got the attention of the one guy after he got his face out of his phone & tried on a pair of sneakers, but didn't want to give the kid the sale so we left. Went to the other location only to be met with a tiny bit of improvement in customer service. Found 2 pairs of sneakers but again, didn't want to give up the sale & left. I recognize these are mostly teens but where is management? Who is supervising these 2 locations? We're not tourist and these locations are busy. High quality athletic shoes and gear with equally matched service. Located a short walk away from the best parking lot(international market place). All the top athletic shoe brands sold here. I shop here mainly for Jordan's and T-shirts. This location is busy quite often due to the Kalakaua Street foot traffic. No worries though. Always greeted and someone is always around to help me out and grab my size shoes in the back. The last visit I left my shoes at home. Did a staycation in Waikiki. I picked up a pair of Jordan's- 10.5 sz Pro Quick Black, on sale for $99.99 and some no show socks. Easy day! In and out. The young lady helped me out initial greeting to the purchase. She was even using her phone to figure it out and still couldn't get it right! My 15 year old cousin even figured it out in his head before the cashier. You input how much the customer gave and you input it in the register. Guess she didn't do that. Also this worker kept rushing us with the sizes we need and was like "so what sizes do you need!?" For being a Waikiki store, sometimes salespeople tend to ignore the locals. But at this one, the workers there helped me before I even had to ask. The store also looked super clean and organized! I went in because the storefront was showcasing the new Vibram shoes that were 6.5 oz. Its SUPER light but doesnt show any support at all AND there is nothing light about the price! $100! Since it is in the "Center of Waikiki"- highly accessible and visible, we always stop in to take a looksie. It's very busy- more so than the one at Ala Moana. It's very bright inside and a long space at that (rectangle shaped). The staff members are ready to assist you-are very nice, and will give you an immediate greeting upon entering the store. Though we've been visiting for years, we just bought something last year on our annual trip. I just saw the receipt for it last night since I was going through paperwork. I bought something Hawaii (he likes U of Hawaii stuff) related at $20.00 for my husband. There is an extensive amount of athletic footwear, along the wall, and on displays in front, and there is a long bench to try on those shoes, too. There is also a good amount of sports related clothing as well. It's spacious, so unless there are lots of tourists around, should not bump into the racks. read more

My poor husband had one of his slide on sandals break in half on our vacation. Could there be a worse time to have your required vacation foot wear to completely fail you??!! I saw the display of basic black and white Nike slide on sandals or $20. I've never seen them this cheap on the main land. They must really sell a lot of these here. My husband really loves Nike and this couldn't have been a better deal or timing. With the sales going on the store is crazy crowded and busy. The employees are fast however they keep things moving. Asked the clerk to see if they had my size, and not only did he dismissively refer me to someone else, but the other person he referred me to took a very long time AND pretty much tossed the pair of shoes at me when he found then and walked away. Very poor customer interaction, extremely poor time management, and I felt like more like I was nuisance whilst they were taking care of other customers instead. I called a few days ago to see if there was a new shipment coming in and I was told it was every Wednsday. I come in on wednsday and pretty much nothing I asked for was there. No patriots stuff at all. The only teams that they stock are mostly non playoff teams that no one wants. So don't expect any nfl stuff unless your team is garbage. Then maybe they will have it. When the sales rep couldn't find the shoe, he approached me and explained why and immediately sought out the manager to get answers. Once they figured it out, had what I needed within minutes. So I decided to attempt to purchase a pair of Air Jordans that were recently released in a limited edition. Knowing that the shoes would most likely be in extremely high demand and limited supply, I decided to head to the Waikiki Foot Locker well before they opened in an attempt to beat the rush...I was mistaken. People camped out. Though is was not the fault of Foot Locker for the sneaker heads beating me at my own game (the campers put in the work, they should get the shoes first), what was Foot Locker's fault is implementing a "two pairs of sneakers limit" for the purchase of these shoes, knowing the demand and limited supply they would receive. This policy should have been "ONE pair of sneakers (at least for the most common sizes 9-12)". Reason being: Foot Locker knew that there would be no problem selling their inventory for this particular shoe, and it was pretty easy to see based on the amount of people waiting for store open as well as the latent foot traffic that comes in, that there would not be a stale inventory of these glorious sneakers. Instead, the two pair limit policy meant that those who camped out would buy two pairs, obviously leaving the second half of the line (where I was) empty-handed when we came up to the line. If they implemented a one pair policy, the entire inventory would have still sold out, everyone waiting in line would have had a pair and there would be much more satisfied customers walking around (in new Jordans) with Foot Locker. Instead, you have half the amount of people walking around, smiling, and the other half walking around disappointed. I'd rather have 100 happy customers than 50 happy and 50 disappointed, especially when there isn't an excess inventory problem. Really, this is an issue of the management. It indicates to me that the manager of the store doesn't really understand the retail environment, nor can he/she do some basic analysis. The employees working there seemed polite and helpful, and were doing what they could. Other than that, that's my only gripe. They're a regular old shoe store, but I'll probably opt for another store the next time I want to buy some tennis shoes. read more
