Staff was super helpful in pointing me to items that would be fully under the dividend amount and therefore totally free. For the amount I had, this was primarily socks or sunglasses. Morgan "Run-Shoe-Pro" gave me the lowdown on run, walk and train options. He was really easy-going, friendly and quite knowledgeable about every shoe on the shelf. Impressive! I came to try Topo Magnifly 5 with 0 mm drop. I walk 5 miles daily around Portland on concrete so I want a shoe that's easy on old creaky senior knee joints. Through the years I've worn Altra (also available here) the past decade. Topo and Altra have similar wide toe boxes. Topo fits a little bit snugger in the heel, which I like. I bought the Topo. Walked around the store with 1 Altra and 1 Topo on for comparison. Altra or Topo, either way, healthy feet are vital to your mobility and fitness. Do you want a natural shape to fit the foot better and provide the best posture for running, walking or hiking? What I think - do you Go By Foot around PDX? Yup ya say! It can be overwhelming especially when you need to try on a different size and can't find your way back to the right aisle. Some sections are marked, but others, like sketchers, are located in several different places. They carry all the usual suspects - Sketchers, Nike, Reebok, New Balance, Birkenstock, Fry, Uggs, Ryka, Clarks, White Mountain, Puma, Adidas and more. Prices are good, but I always do a search online to make sure it's the best price available. Many times it is, but sometimes the same shoe can be bought online for less so if it fits and I like it, I order it online. I come to the physical store because I need to try on shoes. I need arch support and a wide toe bed so I can't take a chance of buying shoes or sandals without testing them out. Famous Footware also sells online and since I loved the sneakers so much, and knew they fit well after wearing a few weeks, I bought another pair online in white and silver. If you sign up for their rewards program, they ship to your house for free and you can return at the store for free if it doesn't work out. There were a few people working but they don't offer help. Assuming it's because their business model is more of a do it yourself model . They put all the shoes and sizes out in the floor and you find and try on what you like. It got tiring because I tried on so many and was conscientious and pout everything back that didn't work out.

I waited behind a single person getting checked out who was chatting with the cashier for 10 minutes about politics, life, sports, etc, after which they said "nice to meet you", (I thought they had been long time friends). The cashier finally got to me and I said I had an appt and he said oh then I'll take you to the other worker because I have to help these other people. The other worker said "what time is your appt" and I said 12:40. He said, with a brash tone, "well it's 12:25 so you can wait 15 minutes while I help this other guy". This other guy - who CAME IN AFTER ME AND DIDN'T HAVE AN APPOINTMENT. I was obviously like no, that's not how this works. I not only showed up before the other guy, I also had the foresight to make an actual appointment, and just because I'm 15 minutes early you're going to punish me, and be a complete jerk about it? The other guy behind me said it was fine, I should go first, so I did. The guy helping me then took my measurements and filled out a slip, gave it to me, and said to take it to the store in Chicago next weekend and they'll have my order ready for me. I literally said "are you sure this is all I have to do?", because it seemed too easy. And he literally said "yes." Next weekend I call the store in Chicago and they have NO ORDER IN MY NAME WHATSOEVER. The guy never put my order in. Fortunately the lady was very helpful and she got me fitted quickly and got a tux rental ready for me on the spot and it all worked out, but my entire trip to this store in clackamas was a complete waste of time, and I'm pretty sure that this vindictive guy intended on screwing me over. I suppose the moral is to show up for your appointment exactly at the appt time, even though that would mean you then would have to wait past your appt time because they'd be currently helping other people. In other words, WHAT THE F IS THE POINT OF MAKING AN APPOINTMENT?!?!?

I bought a suit and had it tailored. The buying experience was punctuated with me splitting time with a sales associate who was running between various customers. They failed to answer questions and failed to act on requests that would have led to up sales. The tailoring was okay, not great. I would have made some changes, but the service was so bad I didn't want to bother. To clarify when I came to pick up the tailored suit the frumpy potato behind the counter was offended I asked to try it on before taking the garment. Thai is the first time in my life I have bought a suit where the associate did not review the fit with me. I tried to find someone to explain a problem I had with the suit, but it was clear no one who works here is the least bit interested in service. The associate actually asked I was ready "yet." I asked their thoughts on a pocket square and they pointed across the store and said, "You can find them over there." Um, excuse me? The suit was badly wrinkled as if it had been in a dumpster and I asked if I could at least get it steamed. The associate exhaled and said they "guessed" they would see what they could do. They asked again if I was ready to go and I pointed out I had socks and a belt to pay for. After the transaction they offered to put the suit in plastic. And no, they did not ever steam the wrinkles out. They literally never actually faced me, made eye contact tact, or actually engage. If you are the manager of this business here are my suggestions after decades of experience as a customer. 1. Ensure your staff is trained and understands customer service. Your staff is untrained. Both people I dealt with could have easily sold me multiples of what I spent, but because it was clear I was bothering them I didn't spend. 2. Don't have people in the floor who are a dumpster fire. The person I dealt with today looked frumpy and unkempt. They should like they put an effort into their appearance. Also teach the to engage with customers. They present as if they don't care. 3. Train your staff to work through the fitting process. It matters.
