Mad an appt to get fitted for and order a tux rental for a wedding in Chicago. Appt was 12:40. My noon appt ended early so I got to the store at 12:15. I waited behind a single person getting checked out who was chatting with the cashier for 10 minutes about politics, life, sports, etc, after which they said "nice to meet you", (I thought they had been long time friends). The cashier finally got to me and I said I had an appt and he said oh then I'll take you to the other worker because I have to help these other people. The other worker said "what time is your appt" and I said 12:40. He said, with a brash tone, "well it's 12:25 so you can wait 15 minutes while I help this other guy". This other guy - who CAME IN AFTER ME AND DIDN'T HAVE AN APPOINTMENT. I was obviously like no, that's not how this works. I not only showed up before the other guy, I also had the foresight to make an actual appointment, and just because I'm 15 minutes early you're going to punish me, and be a complete jerk about it? The other guy behind me said it was fine, I should go first, so I did. The guy helping me then took my measurements and filled out a slip, gave it to me, and said to take it to the store in Chicago next weekend and they'll have my order ready for me. I literally said "are you sure this is all I have to do?", because it seemed too easy. And he literally said "yes." Next weekend I call the store in Chicago and they have NO ORDER IN MY NAME WHATSOEVER. The guy never put my order in. Fortunately the lady was very helpful and she got me fitted quickly and got a tux rental ready for me on the spot and it all worked out, but my entire trip to this store in clackamas was a complete waste of time, and I'm pretty sure that this vindictive guy intended on screwing me over. I suppose the moral is to show up for your appointment exactly at the appt time, even though that would mean you then would have to wait past your appt time because they'd be currently helping other people. They were understaffed for this time of year when weddings and other affairs are going strong. We were completely on our own even after I asked three different sales clerks for help. When I pay 150$ for dress slacks and 80$ for a belt, then another $80 for a shirt plus more money for other essentials, I would expect at least someone who would help us find what we were looking for. I have easily bought 100 suits in life. This was by far my worst experience ever. I lost self respect because I allowed myself to accept such poor service. I bought a suit and had it tailored. The buying experience was punctuated with me splitting time with a sales associate who was running between various customers. They failed to answer questions and failed to act on requests that would have led to up sales. The tailoring was okay, not great. I would have made some changes, but the service was so bad I didn't want to bother. To clarify when I came to pick up the tailored suit the frumpy potato behind the counter was offended I asked to try it on before taking the garment. Thai is the first time in my life I have bought a suit where the associate did not review the fit with me. I tried to find someone to explain a problem I had with the suit, but it was clear no one who works here is the least bit interested in service. The associate actually asked I was ready "yet." I asked their thoughts on a pocket square and they pointed across the store and said, "You can find them over there." Um, excuse me? The suit was badly wrinkled as if it had been in a dumpster and I asked if I could at least get it steamed. The associate exhaled and said they "guessed" they would see what they could do. They asked again if I was ready to go and I pointed out I had socks and a belt to pay for. After the transaction they offered to put the suit in plastic. And no, they did not ever steam the wrinkles out. They literally never actually faced me, made eye contact tact, or actually engage. If you are the manager of this business here are my suggestions after decades of experience as a customer. 1. Ensure your staff is trained and understands customer service. Your staff is untrained. Both people I dealt with could have easily sold me multiples of what I spent, but because it was clear I was bothering them I didn't spend. 2. Don't have people in the floor who are a dumpster fire. The person I dealt with today looked frumpy and unkempt. They should like they put an effort into their appearance. Also teach the to engage with customers. They present as if they don't care. 3. I've shopped here for years. The service has never been great, but it was usually tolerable. Today was the worst experience I've had anywhere in a long time. I walked in and there were 3-4 employees standing around and nobody acknowledged me or asked if I needed help. When I went to the counter to pay for a few shirts, I had to practically pull teeth just to get someone to pay attention and ring me up. I ended up setting the shirts down and walking out. They had us paid expedited but FAILED to mention to us when returns needed to be and their policy! this was our first time ever coming here but we go to return it a week later after our wedding and trip and they made us paid $120 for a LATE FEE?!? this whole thing has costed almost $500 for just a basic cream suit the cheapest of them all too. The problems with trying to find formal clothing as a fat, butch-of-center queer woman are evident. My body shape is just not "right" in any way for standard men's clothes. I dreaded shopping for suit components until I walked into Men's Wearhouse at Clackamas Town Center. They fitted me for a vest and pants without issue, and seemed genuinely happy to help me make sure I looked dapper as heck for the wedding I was about to officiate for my dear friends. EDIT: THANKS FOR THE CORPORATE COPY & PASTE REPLY NOT HANDLING OUR EXPERIENCE. YOU SHOULD FEEL ASHAMED OF YOUR RESPONSE. PATHETIC. This was probably the worst customer service experience I have EVER experienced. I have had a lot of poor experiences but this definitely topped it all. My fiancé is difficult to shop for because we struggle to find things that fit him comfortably all over. When we initially walked in, not a single person greeted us. We waited for about 20-30 min & finally tracked someone down to help us. They gave us a blank stare, & said we had to scan the QR code to be helped. (That would have been nice to know 30 min earlier). We signed up & waited, when a lady came up to help us who didn't seem to be very confident in what she was doing. She had him trying on random colors, sizes, and didn't bother to even measure him. After she decided she couldn't help us because she wasn't understanding what we needed and didn't even really know what she was doing, she grabbed somebody else. The 2nd person was a little more in tune but still not sure what was going on. We told them all the most simple thing "we need a gray tux that is size inclusive due to our bridal party". He was a little more helpful. Got him measured & got him into the fitting room. We tried a few on but needed to order a size in something. He didn't know how to do it since he was newer. He then grabbed a 3rd person. This third person is the reason we left and i'm writing this review. He mumbled every word he said, had no idea what he was doing, and was rude. He measured him again (both the people who measured him got two separate WAY off measurements). When we said he needed a GRAY suit he grabbed us a $500 blue jacket. He tried it on & said "ok great this works and you have it in gray correct". The guy replied "Uh I don't think so let me go check" Comes back 10 min later, never checked, and we asked him if he saw if it came in gray and he said oh i don't know let me go look. Came back and said no. He said we then would have better luck online. I then asked if Mens Wear-house doesn't have a gray suit to fit all (tall, bigger & shorter). He said they did and I asked him to show us and he just started showing us different colors AGAIN. I am not sure what he was doing or if something was just not clicking in his brain. After being here for 2 hours + we just decided it was a waste of our times. We left but before we did I asked to talk to a manager, the guy at the front desk sighed and grabbed his "manager". His "manager" which I don't believe is even a manager, I believe he just lied to not get us to say something to their actual manager. I told him all the above & he just looked at me smirked and said "OK". I believe they said his name was Anthony? He had a pony tail. As a manager you need to take responsibility and try to redirect the negative situation into a positive one. Nope. I left and he laughed as I walked out. I was looking for a coat for my husband & the store seems to be run by a bunch of young adults ranging from 22 to 25 years old. That clearly do not want to be there. It wasn't a very experience but more of a waste of my time. I'll start the story here: my husband & I start looking around & realize that we do not know my husband's coat size. We glance around & we see a female employee taking the measurements of a group of like 5 people. So naturally, we kind of stood directly behind the group making kind of a line behind them. Not even 10 feet from this employee. She's doing their measurements & I had turned around to make a comment to my husband about, I don't know some suit that was near us or something, & I turned back around to see the group gone, assuming she had finished helping them but she was gone. And I'm confused, we're looking at each other thinking is she coming back..? Where did she go..? I kind of glance around the store to see her, the employee, walking away to the other corner of the store. We see her stop at like a shirt table & she's just starts folding shirts. I'm thinking "okay.. that's kind of rude because clearly she could see that we were standing nearby to get help from her after she helped the group in front of us." And it's not like she didn't see us, like her back was not against us or something. We were no more than 7 feet away from her. I think it was very clear that we were waiting for assistance. She didn't even bother to say to us "Oh, just one moment, sorry I need to blah blah blah & then i can help you." Or you know, acknowledge our presence. She had walked away and literally pretended like she did not see us, which we knew was impossible. Anyway, I go over to her because I don't see any other employee around, and I kindly ask her if she could measure my husband. she's like "Yeah, no problem." OK great. He gets measured, and we go back to the corner where we were at. We were having trouble thinking of a color coat that would match with the shirt and pants that he has. We were both struggling to figure something out, I'm no fashionista, neither is he. So I'm like "Well, I'll go ask one of the employees to get some advice on that. Because that's what they're, there for. right? So I walked back over to the corner in hopes of finding an employee to help me. The same female employee is standing with, Im assuming a superior that looks around 19 years old, that is showing her something on some kind of work tablet. So I'm standing probably 5 feet away from them, not interrupting to let them finish whatever he's showing her. I'm waiting patiently for about 3 to 4 minutes. Not either of them has acknowledged that I'm there. Not an "oh sorry, just give us 1 minute here." So he gets done showing her & they're both slowly trail away from each other pretending to be distracted by something. Again, pretending that they do not see me. Literally standing in front of them. Their back wasn't against me, I was facing them. Anyway, Clearly they don't want to be there, don't want to help people at all. I understand retail sucks but you are getting paid to help people. You can be rude on your own time. It seemed like these kids needed to be supervised by an actual adult to make sure that they were doing their job with helping customers. The suits are nice, very expensive. I guess suits tend to be. My husband and I were kind of fed up, knowing we'd probably have more questions but didn't want to deal with the task of tracking someone down to ignore me & then help me. We went across the street to Kohl's, found a coat there that I was on sale four eighty three dollars. I'm never in Portland so it's not like I'll be going to this place again anyway. Chaotic, horribly designed store. Filthy as well. No mirrors in dressing rooms, you get to march out and down a main (and busy) concourse to a mirror every freaking time you try on a shirt. Not to mention there are literally piles of dust in all the dress in rooms. It looks as if it is never vacuumed. They carry plus size shirts, and no longer inseam pants unless you want to buy a suit. I had to come here to get suits for a wedding as I was a part of the wedding party. However, the suit I received did not fit well and the service was poor. When I went to get fitted it took a long time for an employee to help even though the store was not very busy. The Clackamas store also didn't have my size in pants to try on (size 32 waist). When I went to pick-up my suit it again took very long for an employee to assist me even though there were several employees not working just hanging out in the corner of the store. I did try on the suit at the store but no employee helped me after just handing me the garment bag. During the wedding I noticed the fabric or the material of the suit was very itchy and left a sort of acne along the back of my neck where the collar was. I took my son on there to find and outfit for a job interview they have a young gentlemen working there that was latterly a deer in the headlights he clearly needs training he had absolutely no direction. What's the weather? When I did find a shirt, possibly that might work. He said yeah, you could try it on and we never seen them again we still needed pants tie etc we found a tie on our own asked another person there if they could help tie his tie then ask him if we could pay with him we were passed off to another person we asked if we could have it hanging with a bag over it again a deer in the headlights but we did end up getting g it. Very poor customer service, starting the moment you walk in. Not obvious is the QR code you need to scan to check in. Stood around 15 minutes wondering why no staff approached me before seeing the sign. Bought a sport coat and two pairs of dress slacks for an upcoming cruise. When being fitted, indicated that I like a heavy break in the slacks and the sleeves to hit my wrist. Sales associate who was fitting me tells me that shorter length in the slacks is a more youthful look and that the socks should be visible just above the shoe when standing. In my mid 60s, not looking for the youthful appearance and want my heavy break. He does the measurements on slacks and jacket and all is set. The alterations would be done the night before my flight. I pick them up just before closing and leave. Note that I didn't try them on since it would have been too late to correct and they were closing. On the ship I discover that the slacks are very short showing my socks and that the coat just comes up to my watch - not the wrist. A month later I'm back home to get them adjusted. They were able to give me maybe an additional inch in length for a slight break but not the heavy break I had wanted. The jacket they said couldn't be lengthened. When I asked why did they then sell it to me telling me that they could lengthen it when they couldn't. No answer. The entire purchase is now in the back of my closet waiting to be donated. I can get by with the slacks despite the break not being what I want but the coat is not workable. When I lived in San Diego, I easily spent many thousands at my local Men's Wearhouse and was always satisfied. Whether the entire chain has gone downhill or it is just this store, I'm pretty unhappy and will be looking elsewhere for a clothier. read more

I have no ill will toward Men's Warehouse, but I try to stay away from the Clackamas location. A couple of lackluster experiences were exacerbated by terrible customer service. It might not be all that is wrong with the place, but it's certainly what keeps me from coming back. Two incidents: 1* - I'm in need of a dress shirt due to a red wine spill. Instead of heading into Clackamas Town Center (http://www.yelp.com/biz/clackamas-town-center-happy-valley) and trying my hand at various stores, I opt for MW because the parking lot around it was empty and I knew I could get what I needed. I find a plain white dress shirt and the young sales associate asks me if I need any help. I decline and say I'm in a hurry and ask to him to ring me up instead. He chuckles at my stained shirt and says, "Are you sure? You'll probably be back given your bad luck with the wine." I politely tell him someone had spilled it on me but he proceeds to ask why my jacket wasn't affected (wasn't wearing it at the time) or why I don't buy a backup shirt. On my way out, he condescendingly says, "Thank you, don't drink and drive." I retort with "Don't worry, I'm the designated driver." And his final line? "You don't look like one." Ouch. 2* - Feeling an itch for a new jacket, I peruse the aisles for something in my size. I come across a lovely navy blue jacket that fits me well. A much older sales associate approaches me and asks me if I need any help. I ask him if he likes the jacket I'm trying out and he says, "I have better ones ... " and proceeds to show me a few more that are solid, though pricey at roughly $419-$499 each. I let him know that I'm going with the original jacket ($275) and he says out loud, "You can do what you want, but don't say I didn't tell you so." Somewhat disturbed, I say "I've got a budget." And his snotty reply of "I can tell" just rubbed me the wrong way. I ended up purchasing the jacket, but I somehow wished I hadn't. I've been to other MW stores where it wasn't this bad. It may only be two strikes, but the bad taste leaves me not wanting to chance a third opportunity. read more

My fiancé and I came here late in the afternoon Sunday to get his tux for our fall out of town wedding. They had several color options toward the back of the store and we didn't have to wait long for tuxes. The associate we spoke to was knowledgeable about our options and helped us go through them quickly. I liked that there was a variety of tux and tie colors. I also liked that it was a one-stop shop where you could get everything needed. Even though his measurements were taken, my fiancé was given the wrong jacket and pants. I could hear two associates arguing about it and it made me uncomfortable. If someone did something incorrectly I felt like it should be discussed somewhere else or after we left. The reason we went to Men's Wearhouse is because I got a promotional email where I got a discount code in exchange for filling out a form. The employees at the store were unfamiliar with this coupon. They did however apply a discount and that's the only reason why this review isn't two stars. As soon as my fiancé found his tux, they wanted me to put down a deposit while he was in the dressing room even though they hadn't gone over the terms with us. There was also confusion about where to pick up the tux. You have to travel at least a week early for most out of town weddings. The associate just assumed we'd be able to pick up the tux, fly to New Jersey and return if all within the space of two days and put the pick up location for Clackamas. I think she should have asked when we plan to fly to the wedding location. I requested pick up at the North Brunswick store but somehow it got put down as Downtown Portland. In theory, I like that you could pick up your tux at any Men's Wearhouse and share the group number with members of your wedding party so they can see and buy everything from the website. In practice, it hasn't been so great though. First, the email I got from Men's Wearhouse with the group number had a link that took me to a page with an error message. We found the page to put in the group number via Google. However, when we got there, the wedding date was off by two months and our store pick up location was in Oregon instead of on the east coast where the wedding is. There's no easy way to fix it on the website. Between the store experience and the website, it's been a stressful experience and I'm wondering if we chose the right store for the tuxedos. I'm concerned something else may go wrong. If I had to do it over again, I would have gone to another location or picked an online service or just waited until the next time we were in NJ to go with a local store there. I don't want to cancel since there aren't a lot of places where you can try on a tux in Oregon and pick it up in NJ. However, we are considering it. read more

MW, oh how far you have fallen. There is no longer any pride in product or the store. It looks like a discount store without the discount pricing. Nothing was on sale. So at full price you would expect clean and organized. Shirts should be on their own hanger, not hung over the suit pants and under the jacket. Pressed should be pressed. Al the little extra threads and fuzzy ends should be trimmed off the suit jacket and pants. A $500 suit should be in garment bag like they used to be. If you buy 2 shirts at full price, why would the only press one? Oh that's right, they didn't press it either. They don't seem to own a vacuum and it hasn't been dusted since the beginning of COVID. My fiancé just went to pick up his suit for our wedding next Saturday. They told him it needed to be hemmed. Okay, cool, no problem. My fiance and I went in to get a suit for our upcoming wedding. We were greeted right away and got started on ordering a custom suit. The guy helping us was very friendly and quite knowledgeable. He never hesitated on answering any of our questions and made us feel very comfortable about ordering custom. When they order the wrong color suit jacket (and in the same transaction sell us the right color pants) and take IN two suit jackets instead of LET OUT two suit jackets it's beyond frustrating. I made the mistake of not getting a detailed outline of the Tailoring ticket before we left. Horrible experience and now we don't have clothes for our events. Will make due. No apologies or compensation. Get confirmation of everything in writing and then confirm it several times. read more

I have been shopping at Men's Wearhouse for over 8 years. And have been to different locations; Houston, Los Angles, San Francisco Bay Area and now this location. All have excellent customer service. But only two have gone above and beyond - Los Angeles and this location. Decided to pick up a suit last minute for a wedding in Cabo. Walked in on a Saturday afternoon. Was greeted by Paul. Told him exactly what I was looking for and when I needed it by (Wednesday). I found a suit I liked, got measured and was told they would have it ready by Monday. Picked it up Monday and took it home. Later that evening I was not happy with my pants. I called Tuesday noon to see if we could fix it before Wednesday they said bring it in and we'll fix it. Dropped it off and picked it up Wednesday noon. Suit fits amazing, looks great and I feel good wearing it. Overall great experience and customer service Paul was attentive to customer needs and how I wanted to look. Thank you! read more
