Found way too many shoes that I like here! Came for sandals and left with tan boots - on sale and couldn't resist the price - and sneakers that work like shoes since they had mixed fabric and leather and colors of tan, gold and leopard. So cute and fashionable, can wear with track pants, jeans or a dress. Definitely a score! The store is large and rows and rows of sneakers, shoes, sandals, boots of every designer and style. It can be overwhelming especially when you need to try on a different size and can't find your way back to the right aisle. Some sections are marked, but others, like sketchers, are located in several different places. They carry all the usual suspects - Sketchers, Nike, Reebok, New Balance, Birkenstock, Fry, Uggs, Ryka, Clarks, White Mountain, Puma, Adidas and more. Prices are good, but I always do a search online to make sure it's the best price available. Many times it is, but sometimes the same shoe can be bought online for less so if it fits and I like it, I order it online. I come to the physical store because I need to try on shoes. I need arch support and a wide toe bed so I can't take a chance of buying shoes or sandals without testing them out. Famous Footware also sells online and since I loved the sneakers so much, and knew they fit well after wearing a few weeks, I bought another pair online in white and silver. If you sign up for their rewards program, they ship to your house for free and you can return at the store for free if it doesn't work out. There were a few people working but they don't offer help. Assuming it's because their business model is more of a do it yourself model . They put all the shoes and sizes out in the floor and you find and try on what you like. It got tiring because I tried on so many and was conscientious and pout everything back that didn't work out. read more

Walked into this store the same time as a lady did with her big purse. The lady clerk at the store said hi to the lady customer but came right up to me didn't say hi and flatly told me I had to give her my jack spade messenger bag. I refused because my iPad, wallet, iPhone, my Burberry leather iPad case and Louis Vuitton sunglasses were in it. She continued to fight with me on it and I asked why she didn't ask the lady to put her large coach purse behind counter. She said "I have a bag". Mind you I couldn't even fit one shoe in my bag if I were to steal, which I would not anyway. She said "fine but I am going to watch you". And she just stood there with her hands on her hips staring at me with a glare as I tried the shoes. So when I tried on some vans that I really liked ...was so put off by the sales clerk that I put them back. Then went up to counter and proceeded to tell her how uncomfortable she made me and how I was pointed at racially because I am a gay man (spoke very nicely) I might add. Asked her for her first name as she conveniently flipped her badge as I walked up to her....she retorted by saying "leave now". I did. Called headquarters made a big complaint to the division manager. They lost a $60 sale and I went to Vans where they treat me with respect and didn't question my bag and bought them there. In this day where guys have purses/bags too... to hold all there tech stuff...( this ...shouldn't be a question). Never will I buy shoes from Famous Footwear again. My last purchase there was $150 Nike running shoes.... you lost a customer and I hope they fire this lady who was very rude and prejudice. I also wrote a bad review on Google, site jabber and reported them to consumer affairs and the BBB. Update: Division manager called me, apologized profusely sent me a $50 gift card for my trouble. Went back to store spoke to manager - Anna, very nice lady, she saw my messenger bag she even said I couldn't fit one shoe in it,...anyway their policy is not to ask for people's bags. When she looked at it she even agreed it's the size of a small purse. She was very apologetic too. They are taking action with employee, they could not tell me how, but I am glad it was resolved. read more

Spent $120 here. At the register I asked the girl checking me out if she knew of a good brand of shoe inserts to keep my heel from slipping out of my shoes. She pointed out one of their products on the shelf and recommended it highly. I told her if they didnt work out I would be returning them. She said that was fine. Tell you what. That was a lie. Came back the next day when they failed to stay in my shoes without falliing out. Manager REFUSED to return them for me. I mentioned that the girl had recommended them highly and that she had never mentioned that they could not be returned. He told me that was not his problem and that I would have to go through the manufacturer to get my money back. (This is a six week process by the way) I asked for the number to the corporate office and decided to call them instead. I talked to four different people who said they could not do anything about the stores return policy. HELLO? You are the corporate office. You can do whatever you want. All you have to do is say the word. Finally after 30 minutes on the phone with them and five phone calls I was able to get someone who had a set of testicles in their pants (a woman in fact) who said she would call the store and demand that the manager return my money to me. Seriously it takes five phone calls, 30-45 minutes of yelling over a $6 product to get a refund from these losers? I will never shop here again. To fight with me over such a small amount of money is ridiculous. They should have apologized for the sales associate telling me they could be returned and honored what I was told. FAMOUS FOOTWEAR you have lost my business FOREVER and all over $6. And you can take that crappy $10.00 off coupon you sent me and shove it up your A$$. Go to JCPenneys you can get way better deals on shoes there. Also note that the leather boots I bought here for over $80 already have the leather peeling off in spots. GREAT QUALITY. Me and my entire family will shop anywhere else for shoes but not here. Thats about $300 a year in lost sales you idiots. read more

This is an updated review. The previous time I want there to return shoes I was given the run around. I went in to look at some dress shoes. They had a good variety of dress shoes and they were reasonably priced. After trying on several pairs I found a pair that I wanted. Unfortunately, they didn't have the exact size I wanted. The salesperson called a nearby site and was able to locate my size. He was very helpful and had the shoe held at the other store for the day. The store was clean and most of the shoes are reasonably priced. The only thing lacking was that they didn't have any dress shoes. read more

It's your standard shoe store. Most of the shoes are overpriced and some of the shoes I have never seen before in my life. The store was very clean and the staff was very knowledgable about what they are selling. I think you could find better deals at the mall or maybe at an outlet store. I'm a guy who loves shoes, but the choice of brands just aren't my style. I think it mostly depends on who and what you are shopping for. read more

Very disappointed today when trying to return/exchange a new (never once worn!!) pair of shoes and boots that I purchased for a kid as a gift. They were the wrong size & Apparently you have NO options once so ever after 2 months!!! You are better off to purchase elsewhere w/a decent company who understands that kids feet are constantly growing and are hard to judge for size when they're not with you!! I've spent a lot of money here between all the purchases of my 3 kids, hubby & I. Lesson learned!!.. I will no longer go here for anything again!!! read more
