Bought a pair of Adidas Ultra Boost from their eBay store, and was told beforehand when I asked about possible wear / damage that they're in "absolute excellent condition", but when they arrived the left shoe has areas that are scuffed, crushed inner sole with discoloration spots, and a deep, permanent crease in the toebox. Tried contacting them on eBay about a return, and even offered to cover return shipping but the message went ignored. Tried escalating a claim with eBay but since the shoes were "guaranteed" by their authenticity team, it basically got auto-denied. Now I'm trying to deal with PayPal and my bank to get the problem fixed or else I'm stuck with damaged shoes that I'll have to resell myself, no doubt at a loss. Extremely, extremely disappointed in how this sale was handled. Maybe they'll see this review and we can work something out, but considering they ignored my messages and had the negative review I left for them on eBay deleted, I'm not holding my breath. I will never recommend this store again. Footage by the cool shoe shine is an absolute joke. I've been on and off consigning with them since 2017 and this is how they treat customers. Couple months ago I took my shoes to sell with them and a couple sold so I got paid out. I end up opening up my own spot so I decided to take the rest out. When I went to take my shoes out in San Diego they said I needed to pay them back $545 in order to get my shoes out. Plus $10 for each pair because it's been within 2 months. They said I needed to pay them back because a payment process on one of the shoes didn't go through and the other shoe ended up being fake. First off, why would you pay me out without taking precautions first and wait until transactions finish. 2, their policy before was 2 weeks before taking items back. Then it changed to 2 months, then it changed to 3 months when I went back to pick them up again since I didn't have the money the first time. When I spoke to the owner on the phone in SD he said he'll buy back the shoes that the transaction didn't go through so he'll take $150 off of $545. Of course when I went to pick them up he said he changed his mind and I still have to pay full price. Got into an argument with him about the deal and he ended up calling the cops because I just wanted my shoes back didn't threat him or anything. He said I'm dumb for not wanting to pay him back (for his mistake) and I should ask anyone else with common sense. Well I did, I spoke to other people about it and even another store worker. They all said I was right and when I told him how the other store even agreed with me he said "I don't even know that store because I'm too busy working on my own". Keep in mind I've lived in la Habra since 2003 and my dad and I never knew about this store until 2017. The other store is a lot more well known and is local too so idk how he wouldn't know it. Another customer even came to the shop and said he never knew about this spot until yesterday. UPDATE: He uploaded a video onto YouTube of our convo without consent. In the video you can clearly tell it was hidden so I wouldn't see him doing so. It is ILLEGAL to record conversations without both parties consent! This was his "blackmail" for exposing what he did onto yelp and other platforms that would ruin his reputation. All you had to do was take some responsibility for your mistakes and none of this would have happened Rainier :) hope that money was worth it. read more

Our house guest wanted to purchase shoes and he did a little research and found this hidden gem in Brea. The consignment store is located in a small industrial plaza. We walked in and found ourselves in a small shoe haven! This establishment carries high end athletic shoes, most of which cost more than the average car payment. (Some shoes were closer to a monthly mortgage payment.)The employee that helped us was knowledgeable about each product; he was able to answer all the questions that were asked. The back part of the store had other items like hats, kids shoes, socks, and other high end knick knacks for sale. Shops like Footage hold it down for the general community of sneakerheads. You show a little bit of respect to them, and they'll help you out. Rainer's definitely one of the nicest, and stand up dudes I know. His location makes it easy for me as well. He pretty much has the Inland Empire, Orange County, and some of the SGV on lock. Here's a few tips for selling sneakers: Tip #1 - Price it to move, not to sit! Otherwise your shoe looks no better than the exact same pair sitting next to it, for the same price. Tip #2 - Honestly decide if you want top dollar, or if you want to sell it fast, because you can't have it both ways. Tip #3 - The rule of two. Either you sell your kicks in the first 2 weeks of buying them, or you hold on to them for 2 years, waiting for them to go back up in value. (Thanks Corgishoe). Tip #4 - Always leave some meat on the bone for the consignment shop. Don't be selfish, you young bucks. You want these shops to be around to unload your collections in a few years when you decide to "get out of the game" right? I've had a shoe fetish for over five years now. I'm not sure when I'm finally going to get over this silly hobby of collecting shoes, but I know my feet do look pretty fly in the present! In all seriousness, Footage has made my addiction even worse. It doesn't help my wallet at all to have a local spot for me to find those old school SB's & Jordans that I "need." Combine the great selection of the store with the personable staff and awesome owner, and I'm probably not going to be getting out of the shoe game for awhile. Damn it. The first thing you need to know about Footage is that it's a consignment shop. In other words, individuals bring shoes to Footage to be sold by the shop. If you want to the shop to help you sell a pair of shoes, you tell them how much you want to make and they will add their 10% fee on top and sell the shoes for that slightly inflated price in-store. Your shoes will also be listed on ebay with a Buy-it-now option for more exposure at no additional charge. The ebay exposure is critical because it allows your shoes to be sold to individuals around the world who cannot visit the shop. Keep in mind though that the prices of shoes on the store's ebay account are much higher than in-store because the price includes Ebay and paypal fees. Also, if the shoes sell via ebay, you do not have to worry at all about shipping since the shop takes care of that. The reason why the shop gives you a better chance of your shoes being sold is the store's reputation around the sneakerhead world/forums for being a great place and the owner's ridiculous amount of feedback on ebay (over 14,000 feedback). He's arguably the #1 sneaker seller on Ebay in the entire country considering his feedback. By sneakers, I mean nike shoes, jordans, etc. As for the selection, the shop is dominated by a vast amount of nike shoes including: Blazers, Dunks, Dunk Sb's, Air maxes, Kobes, etc. There is also a huge selection of Jordans and a decent selection of Vans. If you're looking for older releases, this is definitely the place you want to check out. I've been able to get 2001 Black/Red 11's, Danny Supas, White Supreme Lows, Black Rayguns, Kobe Dark Knights, etc. at the shop. I have also used the shop to sell some of my own shoes. I cannot recommend this place enough for both sneakerheads or anyone that wants to pick up a fresh pair of sneakers. Of all the consignment shops I have been to, this is the ONLY one I have been to where the owner goes out of his way to welcome you to the store and accommodate your needs. I hope the young staff follows the example of the owner, Rainier and continues to take the initiative when it comes to dealing with customers. Sorry RIF, Footage is the place for me. Rif may have a bigger selection, but the staff only seems to go out of their way for the "homeys." Quick Tips: When you first walk into the shop, the shelves on the left have all the brand-new, deadstock shoes while the shelves on the right are used shoes. Ordered a pair of shoes online. Received the shoes in different sizes, meaning, one shoe was the correct size and the other shoe was a half size smaller. When I called the store to correct, whomever I spoke to made it very clear that; a) I was not going to be able to speak to a manger and b) "shit happens." While a full refund was offered I didn't feel comfortable enough to simply send back the shoes and hope for a refund so I opened a Paypal dispute. Long story short, I received a refund for the purchase price only, not the shipping or return shipping charges. Fair, not really. I ordered a pair of shoes and received two different sizes, why should I pay for their mistake? Issues: 1) We buy from this type of consignment shop for many reasons and one of those reasons is to guarantee authenticity. How can they claim to sell only authentic shoes when their quality control doesn't even include verifying the size of the shoes? Answer, they can't so, buyer beware and purchase at your own risk. 2) The unprofessionalism by the call taker/employee was deplorable. Nothing other than the inconvenience of mailing back the shoes at my expense can not/should not be the only option. For a manager not to be available and/or even notified is beyond abusive on the part of the employee and as a representative the store and manager himself. Must be noted that this was not my first purchase from this store. I had made three other purchases before the online purchase. Also, I travel from San Diego to Brea. That being said, I will never patron this store ever again for my shoe needs/wants. Poor customer service would be a serious understatement. read more

They are knowledgeable, but not elitists who talk down to you and think they know way more than you. Most of the big consignment shops in LA treat you like you are an idiot and you don't know what is going on just because you aren't wearing Yeezys into the store. I took in some shoes in I wasn't wearing that were in new condition some were never even worn once. The dude asked me what I want for them and I gave him a fair price as I know they have to resell the items and make money too. He looks at them and says "where are you getting that price from?" Super rude. Another customer was there trying to sell some shoes and the employee asked him "what did you hike up a mountain in these?". I've been shopping THECOOLSHOESHINE since it was in Fullerton. Overall, their selection of shoe's is second to none and there in-store customer service is great. They do a buy back program and offer vintage Nike, Stussy and The Hundreds t-shirts and misc items. However, there customer phone service needs some help. They seem to get flustered easily when you ask multiple questions. Which is OK, not everyone can handle customer service over the phone well. By no means does this reflect the overall rating of the store. They have improved greatly in selection and space since there move to Brea. If your in the area, check them out. read more

It's owned and operated by a long time friend, Rainier, and he's been in the shoe game ever since he traded velcros for laces so his knowledge for kix is beyond limits. Also, for those who are short on cash in this tough economic state we're in, Rainier also does consignment! it is the only store around this area that i know of does this and he does it at a much smaller fee than that of Flight Club. I've been consigning with Footage since 2011. In the five years since, I've had no negative experiences with their service whatsoever. It is a quick and easy process to go in to the store and pick up your check when one of your items sell. The employees here are chill as well in that they are always down to have a conversation or help you look up the prices of shoes you are interested in buying/selling.
