Came in today after reading all the good reviews and left very satisfied. I asked Abel, who cut my hair for a high skin fade with a 3 on top and he cut it perfectly!! Very friendly atmosphere. Everyone is highly skilled. Feels just like family. Come on in for that today look for the kids or that special cut for that wedding or reunion. I travel 26 miles, one way, to get my haircut. Why?? Because of all the barber shops that I have visited, NO one knows how to cut a Navy Regulation haircut. Dean's barbershop does!!! Been getting haircuts here for about 5 months and The other weekend David or idk his name he's the only Asian barber there but he seriously messed up my haircut by giving me a high and tight instead of a medium fade. Sue Jin had been cutting my hair for well over a year and I was very happy with the final result every time, so I gave her a $10 tip the first 5 times I went there. Late in 2019-my last cut at Dean's with Sue Jin- she gave me a totally different cut than what I asked for that very day and what I previously got from her every time. I was unhappy with the strange look and feel of the cut, so I went back the next day to get it fixed and it turned out worse than before. I am bummed over what happened, since I really liked her and her previous cuts had been great. I have not been back and as it turns out she really did me a big favor, due to the fact that I have learned to cut my own hair and it looks better than when she did it, so that eliminates the expense and time of going to a barber shop and lessens my possible exposure to COVID while being out and about. I came to this location because of the great reviews. I was looking for a great, normal, old school barber but what I found while I sat in a chair waiting had me walking out the door before I got in the chair. As I walked in there was an ant trail going from the back door out the front door, no big deal I thought it's been warming up everyone has that happen from time to time. Next I noticed no one had swept after multiple customers for each chair had at least 3 different types and colors of hair under them, this is what made me start to pay attention. There were comb jars full of barbicide but nothing in them, there were bristle brushes being used instead that had hair matted in them. There was spray sanitizer for the clippers but it was not used between customers. The final straw that had me stand up and walk out was a mason jar with some barbicide in it being used for disposable strait razor. The razor was used rubbed on a towel and the razor end placed in the jar and then used on the next customer. Now I'm not sure if this is standard practice but it was enough to get me to leave. I thought the whole point of using a disposable was to have a fresh blade for the next customer. They may turn out great haircuts and be a great group of people but to many red flags for me. read more

Been coming here for years, just a year ago the price went up for a cut to 15, totally fine with it, what I didnt appreciate, was the asian guy talking bad about the owner and how hes stuck in the past, and at the time, according to the asian guy, charging clients what they charged 15 years ago, before the price went up, basically a sob story as to why he thinks(asian guy) he made very little money atDean's, and at the time, had to work other barber jobs,fast forward to the now 15 price, and after t went to 15, I got a cut from him, not a very good memory on this guy, he begins to explain the price change, all while now blaming Dean for the price hike, as i sat there listening, I couldn't help but think "liar", "disloyal", how are you going to now "blame" Dean for the price hike, when you spent about 20 minutes talking bad about the owner for not changing the price, the guy still works there, but I have avoided him ever since, in my eyes, you dont speak bad about an owner, especially an owner of a place you work at , never speak bad about them in front of customers, even if you can't stand them, its u profesional and just plain rude! 3 stars because it just left a sour note in my mouth, as for the cuts! I recommend going with the veterans like dean and his 2 side kicks, Sue and damn, I always forget the other ladies name lol, but they have never given me a bad cut, and I ring my family here too. read more
