This place is exactly what I look for in a gun store - fair prices, honest workers, and polite service with folks that are willing to meet you where you're at instead of making you feel like you might not belong. I thought I'd miss the window to pick up a Glock amidst the recent ban, but this store gave me an explanation and scenario where I could still purchase and pick up timely. I know they were still making a sale, but it was nice to feel like they were willing to properly inform me of what I actually needed to purchase and the timelines I needed to meet. After living in Nevada for a few years, the California laws take some readjusting to. I would say I "would" be back here for another purchase, but I'd be surprised if one of my next two firearms purchases aren't from here. Pretty decent firearms store for our small county. When I went in to purchase some targets and ammunition, the owners pointed out some bargain ammo and were quite helpful. I then checked out a new carry gun and decided to buy it. They gave me a decent trade-in on my old guns and processed my paperwork relatively quickly despite the fact that they had their hands full with deliveries, alarm maintenance and other customers. By far the worst customer service I have seen in my entire life. Extremely rude, and not very knowledgeable in general. Will only allow you to buy 100 rounds at a time.... save yourself the frustration and take the drive to lockeford. UPDATED - as you can see by the response from Bill, he's a smart a$$. It wasn't that I'm not shopping local, just not shopping at FOOTHILL FA. As many smaller gun stores do, before theY GO under, they mostly wanna show how gun smart they are more than sell you anything. This is what I experienced here. I expect folks to have COVID restrictions, but Again 2 in this size store is unwarranted and to just lock the door with little more than a small sign saying 2 in the store is as well. Despite the COVID19 restrictions it's the attitude clearly displayed as well as prices, low volume of guns, and not a lot of other product in general. So Bill, I'm happy to move on. I've tried your place enough to know you just don't have what it takes to keep my business. I gave you a fair an honest review based on going in your place half dozen times and leaving with nothing. I have just gotten a Mossberg shotgun purchased from Foothill Firearm back after many months diagnosing a factory defect which ultimately required shipping back to the manufacturer. When I picked up the shotgun I was charged $80 postage and told I could recover the cost from the manufacturer. This was not the case. The dealer told me to take up with the issue with the manufacturer and the manufacturer told me to work it out with the dealer. The bottom line is Foothill sold me a shotgun with a factory defect that took more than four months to diagnose and repair and charged me $80 for shipping a shotgun that never worked out of the box. I will find another dealer for any future purchases. read more

I called the store for an appointment to renew my Safety Certificate, they said no appointment necessary but we are under COVID restrictions, only two customers are allowed at time, buying customers are priority. I showed up to the store waited outside for a minute, a customer came out, and then they let me in. I told them that I called for the Safety Certificate test, just before I finished by sentence, another customer walked in, they asked him to wait outside as there was another customer in the store, and they gave me the test paper. I am glad that I was able to pass and renew my certificate but I hope that they did not lose a customer to accommodate me. I know how hard it is for small businesses to make money. Customer service was amazing especially after going to the big box stores (i.e. sportsman warehouse, ect.) and was treated like i was a burden and they didn't want my business. I've lived up here in pioneer going on two years now been in the foothill firearms maybe a half a dozen times looking for ammunition and/or a handgun to purchase they never have anything in stock the only guns they have is for law enforcement only I mean basically it's an empty store how they're staying in business I have no idea I would recommend that you drive to rancho Cordova and go to the sportsman's Warehouse or any other gun dealer because they just got nothing their attitude is in the tank I give them I give him a minus 10 on their attitude and that goes for the owner Bill they're really really just not a good place to shop but that's my opinion. read more

Hello I collect obsolete and antique ammunition and with the new ammo laws in Ca. I can no longer have delivered to my business. I have been in Foothill Firearms Supply several times so I approached Bill the owner about having my ammo delivered to his store. His reply was "yes, but I'll only do this for you". About 10 or so days later I received a heads-up from UPS that it was going to be delivered the next day and I was at the store within 30 minutes of when it was dropped off. I loaded it up at went home. I had paper work to do to complete the sale of a rifle that went thru F F S and when I went to pay I was charged an additional $100.00 for something that was in his shop for 30 minutes. This guy is a crook. He sold me a gun for $789.99, I never took possesion, and when I asked him about a refund he told me that I will only recieve 80% of my hard earned money back for a "restocking fee", there was nothing to restock. He had it in the store, and it never left, so I asked if he could still sell it so that I could get all of my money back.... he said he could, and did sell the gun, the other gentleman was denied also... so that means 2 people paid for the same gun, and when I asked if he could split the 20% between us, he said no. Both of us got robbed for $170.00 each, and never recieved any merchandise..... Bill is running a scam, he will tell you that you got denied so that he can take his 20%..... unless of course youre a friend of his... DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I MADE.... I was very surprised at how large the store was on the inside. They have a lot more then most gun stores I've been to. They were well stocks on ammunition and firearms along with all the accessories to match. The specific firearm I was looking for they didn't have but we were able to order for me and it was less than other stores I've been looking at in Sacramento.
