I only gave two stars because i typically find what i need when i go there. I wish the tall girl…read morewith glasses wouldn't follow me around the whole time. I know she's trying to be friendly but the store is small. If i need assistance, it won't be hard to find you. I usually tell her I don't need help finding anything because I like to do my shopping on my own. If I spend too long in an aisle she will typically hangout in that aisle pretending she's organizing. Honestly so uncomfortable. Feels like she thinks i'm stealing or something Introverts worst nightmare tbh. Please greet customers then just leave them alone after!

Love Sally beauty, gives me all my hair dye, but for the past two days I went was HORRIBLE. First…read moreday I went, purple hair girl was rude because I pronounced one thing wrong. How am I supposed to know if it's pronounced I O N or ion(i-on). You have your hair dyed you should know what we're talking about. She was just rude and horrible customer service. Second day. I was looking at the dyes, and the tall girl with glasses is just standing next to us looking at me and my friend! She had enough room to walk by us, but no. She stood there for about a minute before just walking by, and nothing was wrong with that but it was random. Then we go to pay and she was all rude! You chose this job! You chose to do customer service, I still tried to be nice. The girl before me payed about $100 in 20s. Our total was $59, we tried to give her $100 and she said "I can't break an 100." Like I know most people pay with 10s and 5s! She had enough, she was just to lazy. Don't go here if you don't want horrible customer service.

Three stars. This…read moreBig 5 has one of the best retail locations in the county. You've got a steady stream of people heading to Tahoe, Kirkwood, Silver Lake, and the rest of the Sierra, plus a community that's packed with youth sports. This place should be absolutely crushing it. Instead, walking through the front doors feels like someone hit pause in 1994 and never came back. I swear I hear grunge music every time I walk in. Not over the speakers... just in my soul. I'm always expecting someone to ask if I need help finding a VCR head cleaner, a new pager clip, or directions to the nearest Blockbuster. If RadioShack and Sports Authority had a baby that refused to acknowledge the last 30 years of retail, it'd probably look like this. The funny part is, this store has so much potential. It should be the place where everyone stops before heading to the mountains because they forgot propane, hiking socks, fishing tackle, snow gloves, or a football mouthguard for Saturday's game. Instead, it has the energy of a retail museum. The only thing missing is a "Please Rewind" sign hanging over the register. The staff has always been friendly, which is why this isn't a one-star review. I just wish corporate would realize they've got a gold mine sitting at the gateway to the Sierra and give this place the glow-up it's deserved for about three decades. Until then, I'll keep expecting to find a stack of Blockbuster membership forms next to the checkout.
