The salad dressings, croutons, cheeses, etc. were all provided in proper amounts, and when I said that there was more food than I expected, they gave me "to go" containers, which we used. Well, thanks to my cousins from Rocklin who introduced me to this charming Italian restaurant nestled in the hills of Auburn, I can confidently say: thank you, and well done! From the moment we walked into this family-run establishment, we were greeted by friendly servers and a wonderful ambiance. The inviting atmosphere made it feel like we had temporarily escaped the greater Placer area to an authentic Italian bungalow, perhaps in a quaint Italian neighborhood. The delightful aromas and the selection of Italian wines set the stage for a wonderful evening filled with delicious food and laughter. Everyone around us appeared to be enjoying their meals! We were quickly seated, and our server, Gina, did an excellent job explaining the specials and suggesting wine pairings. I opted for the spaghetti with meat sauce, which was fantastic, and their salads are superb, drizzled with an Italian dressing that only Mama could make. The next time I'm in town, you can bet that I'm heading over to Pasquale's, and you should too! And thanks again to my cousins!

The online ordering system was not working - it balked at payment - so I phoned them and ordered that way. On the day, we got a pile of plastic bags each labeled with our name, and inside mine I found my hot sandwich, still pretty warm, inside a foil wrapper. Mine was the Italian melt, lots of different kinds of meat plus provolone and a little onion and pepperocini and a mildly spicy marinara sauce lightly dabbed in. It was not too thick but nicely dense, as well as delicious, with a well chosen mix of ingredients. I didn't want too much bread, so I ordered it on marble rye, and that turned out to be fairly thin, not overwhelming, and also strongly and delightfully flavored. I'm not ordinarily big on deli sandwiches - I don't think they have much else - but this was a major find.

There is a bathroom that you must ask for a key to. Once 1:30 rolled around, I was excited to try my sandwich given the great reviews, then came 1:40, then 1:50, and I did not have my sandwich until around 1:55. I worked in a sandwich shop for 3 years, so I know sometimes a wait is unavoidable and can recall dealing with rude customers, so I did not approach the staff regarding the wait. They were trying their best to accommodate the orders. However-- 35 minutes for 2 sandwiches, I think, is a little excessive. In the end, my sandwiches were spectacular, genuinely well crafted, and met (maybe even surpassed) my expectations. When I got back to my car, I noticed the worker (owner?) gave me a full sandwich despite me ordering half. I wasn't sure if this was purposeful as means of saying "our bad", or just a mistake, but I will say it left me in better spirits. If you have some extra time to kill, with friends etc., this is a must try. However, if you are on ANY sort of time restriction, I would not recommend stopping here. I'm sure this is not always the case, but as a stop on a long drive, I did not consider an extra 45 minutes for a sandwich. If the owners are reading this, I truly mean well and hope you know a long wait is a sign of success. Growth is inevitable!

We've been coming to Old Town Pizza in Auburn every Wednesday night for trivia for quite some time…read morenow, and this review is definitely overdue. Every single week, the staff is incredibly friendly and on top of everything. Service is always quick, even when it's busy, and they consistently make the experience feel easy and welcoming. Trivia night is such a highlight for us. It's genuinely fun, well-run, and something we look forward to all week. David and Asia are amazing hosts. They keep the energy up, make it engaging, and you can tell they really care about creating a great experience. One thing that really stood out to me was how responsive management is. I mentioned that the changing table in the women's restroom was broken, and by the time we came back the following week, it had already been replaced. That level of follow-through is rare and really appreciated. We actually drive in from Wheatland every week just to come here, which probably says it all. We love this place and plan to keep coming back.

The pizza was really solid (and I say this coming from Oakland / SF, which have really great pizza). Good crust, tasty toppings. We got a Lean Green Pesto Flatbread (minus the chicken), Reset Veggie Flatbread, Pickle Flatbread, spinach salad, and green salad. The Pickle Flatbread was a bit sweeter than I'd like, but tasty with beer. Everything else was great. Spinach salad was solid, green salad was eh but did the job of balancing out all the pizza.

We started off with mezcal cocktails (which were amazing and complex) and 4 appetizers: the crispy brussel sprouts, tempura squash, calamari, and cauliflower soup. My favorite were the brussels but I am amazed at the deliciousness of the soup. I didn't realize that cauliflower soup could taste so good! We moved on to wine and bacon-wrapped quail and ravioli. I was hesitant about the quail because it seemed to have a lot going on, but it all worked together very well. The ravioli was cheesy and delicious! We finished with panna cotta and coffee, and snagged a bottle of wine to go. It wasn't cheap, but it was worth it. The staff was warm and personable as well as attentive. The food was amazing. I would recommend this place to anyone!
