I love the people who work there, they are all friendly and amazing. The best part of all is the natural health and beauty department. The things I used to order online, (like my health supplements) they have in stock - always. Also, the awesome coupons and 10% off card saves me money! The last coupon I used (from their yearly calendar) was an entire pack of organic premium huge chicken breasts worth $19 - FREE! I couldn't believe it! I would give them 10 stars if I could. I was extremely disappointed by the prices and unapologetic customer service at this store. Upon finding that I overpaid on many items, including allegedly discounted items that were much more expensive than nearby stores, I inquired about if they could discount the item, or return them. The employee refused adjustment or returns and claimed that they only accepted items within 7 days item in resalable condition, not expired, and with receipt. Any other store would have taken these items back, no questions asked. It is just downright deceptive for Holiday Market to use signs like "Extra $avings" which misleads customers into thinking they are getting a good deal, and then cite ridiculous reasons to deny returns on those overpriced items. I am not going to patronize this "local" business anymore. read more

This problem that I have with this market is as the customer I am treated like the problem when I question the accuracy of a price. I stand and wait while price is verified and then need to wait for an additional override when I am proven correct. They should practice what their competitors do and offer something for mistakes. Nice store, convenient to the community it serves. Good product selection - they don't have everything but make an effort to carry products that customers ask for. A bit pricy but if you compare what you'd spend in time and gas to go into town and take advantage of their weekly specials it's worth it. WATCH YOUR RECEIPTS. The big issue with this store is chronic overcharging. They are notorious for not ringing up correct pricing. Literally every time I shop there a sale price is not reflected at check out. It's time consuming and a huge pain to have to flag down an employee and have them correct the pricing at self check out and if you're checking out with a cashier pay attention as they scan your items because it's easy to miss an error when you're chit-chatting. I've learned to pay close attention at check out so I don't get home, look at the receipt and realize I was overcharged. They'll take care of the mistake but again it's a pain and it's something that is easily avoided if people did their job correctly. The original Holiday Market was smaller but I liked it better because it was much closer to home. read more

Having been shopping here for the last 6 years, I previously shopped here only when it wasn't convenient to travel to Bel Air in Auburn. Last week, I stopped at Bel Air and did some shopping but Bel Air was out of a couple items so I stopped at Holiday to finish up the shopping. While in Holiday, I decided to do some price comparisons and was shocked. The prices at Holiday were ALL lower than Bel Air by a significant margin. I've changed my shopping pattern and now stop at Holiday first and only other stores if there's something that Holiday doesn't carry or is out of stock. read more

We're DONE with shopping at Holiday Market. There have been too many products that we have bought from the Higgins store in Auburn that we have subsequently found to be moldy (cheddar cheese, butter), or the cartons of dairy or liquid egg products beginning to swell/bulge in the refrigerator within a week of purchasing. The last straw was opening a new carton of Chobani yogurt yesterday on 4/14/24 and discovering brownish-orange spots on the top of the yogurt. It looked like mold. The yogurt was bought a week prior to opening it and was well within the expiration date. (Our refrigerator, btw, maintains a temperature of 34 degrees fahrenheit.) A call was put through to the Holiday Market and their response to our complaint was, "Okay, thanks. Good-bye." That's it! No follow-up course of action was mentioned. Nor was there ANY indication of an action on their part to ensure a positive food safety culture for the public. read more

People working here were very friendly. We stopped by one day to just to check it out and got some fried chicken and that was delicious. It was the best fried chicken I have ever had at a grocery store. The chicken were actually big pieces, juicy and moist. Then I love the interior of the store, it had a very farmers market designed. New store is huge. It has a deli, bakery, organic produce (not everything but plenty - hoping even more organic produce appears). Lots of veg*n and gluten-free items to choose from. Great selection of local items, lots of ciders and craft beer. Great new store but disappointed with staff. We have shopped here for years- it's my in-laws neighborhood store. The new store is gorgeous! Well supplied and beautifully organized. However I was dismayed that they do not take the COVID mask mandate seriously. They have a sign posted regarding the mandate and someone cleaning carts who ignored the many unmasked people walking in. Multiple employees were wearing masks under their nose, which doesn't protect themselves or their customers, and some were wearing vented masks which only protect themselves not their customers. Worrisome- I hope this issue gets straightened out and Holiday goes back to being a five- star store with five star employees... who are willing to protect elderly and vulnerable local shoppers. read more

Holiday market has come along way. The new store is super nice. Their selection isn't as big as your regular grocery store. However all you have to do is call their main headquarters and ask them to start carrying that product and they will. The prices are pretty high. I wouldn't do any major shopping there but it's a good place to grab odds and ends. read more

Ok, I'm new to the area (Dog Bar Crossing) and this is my 3rd visit to a Holiday Market. 10/29 at 12:20. My parents and I went in for champagne and groceries to celebrate my new home, which they were visiting for the first time. Now, I was already tepid because I had to leave a 1-star review for the Meadow Vista mainly because of a woefully meager BLT. Here at Lake of the Pines Holiday Market I was super impressed with the size and selection. I saw that a membership offers decent pricing also. I went into the website and signed up and confirmed my account just as I was being rung up. I'm super friendly and chatty and I weaved in that I'd just moved to the area and it was my first time buying groceries there. Kathryn told me in a bit of a snarky tone that she could've signed me up faster. I politely commented that on a previous visit the cashier had told me to go online. Once I confirmed via the link, I asked her how to apply my new membership and she pointed to the keypad for the phone number. Welp, new account didn't work. She just stared at me.... I felt like practically had to beg for them to somehow apply the discount while my mom tried to break the ice and joke that we were holding up the line. Very... no extremely unpleasant experience. What a downer after a pleasant shopping experience that for a minute had me strongly considering replacing the weekly drive up to Safeway... but it's so hard to spend money where you feel unwanted. I want to say this is isolated, but 2 severe cases of apathy means either they don't monitor employees behavior or worse I was treated different because I look different than 99% of the clientele. Kathryn gets 1 star but the store bumps it up. I asked my parents if I'm perceiving her attitude incorrectly and they confirmed her snarky tone and overall sense of being irritated that we had just signed up. This was my parents initial welcome to Nevada County. Le Sigh... I'm reminded of it all now as we have our Donal Duck OJ mimosas with dinner. read more

I'm so excited this grocery store is right by my house! If it wasn't I'd drive into to town to go there! Why?? Because they are so friendly, so clean and will carry and stock any item you request! They also have a great line of healthy organic foods and goods. Some complain their prices are higher than Safeway and such, but my arguement is, not really, I've compared and see little difference. I actually spend less money at Holiday because it's smaller and I know where everything is, I'm not overwhelmed with so many options and buy unneccesarily. Also, they do a "WOW" points program, that is awesome!! The most awesome part, you can choose to use your wow points for free pizza, movie tickets, 10% off your grocery bill or 20% of your bill to be donated to your local school. I am so grateful to have this market so close to my home! The variety of food is spectacular and we've made this our go to to market. They don't have a pharmacists, so I go to CVS for that, nor a food deli so if I buy meat I know it will be at least freshly packaged that day and it's always freshly packaged with a date stamp that day. I was very pleased to have the new large store open near our home. We have shopped there a few times and I like the selections of products but wish there was more in the produce section. I recently went for my last time as many customers are not wearing masks. The sign says required and some customers are not taking it seriously. I do. The staff I spoke to said they cannot enforce it as someone may have an underlying condition to prevent them from wearing a mask. I asked the associate to tell her manager that customers are complaining. As I shopped for 15 minutes at least 10 customers came in without masks. I am very disappointed and won't be shopping there. read more

We absolutely love shopping at Holiday. The staff are amazing and so accommodating and my kids love the kids carts so much. We also value having valid medical conditions acknowledged in regards to state mask suggestions, which is why we choose to shop here more and keep our business here instead of major grocery stores. Holiday is not enforcing masks. I went in to shop and 3 lines had people without masks. I asked the on duty manager (who was wearing a bandana for a mask) why they aren't enforcing masks and he said corporate told them not too. I couldn't finish shopping because every time I started to go down an grocery aisle someone was there without a mask. We've shopped there for 15 years and I'm now getting my food delivered from another grocery store. So sad I hope no one gets sick because of it. read more
