Service and quality of the food is beyond any other store. Small but mighty! And their sandwiches are really delicious as is the salad bar.

They have fantastic gluten free sandwiches and coconut flour wraps. I chose the dealers choice because it all sounded so good and I made the right choice! It's the perfect way to unwind on the patio in the sunshine or shade. They also have the best nut based queso dip with clean ingredients. You'd never know it's not cheese and I'm a cheese fanatic! Stumbling into this establishment, we didn't realize they had already closed, but the guy behind the counter was nice enough to make us a sandwich anyway. Pastrami Kraut Melt 5/5* If sandwiches had dreams, they would be an Auburn Bodega sandwich. They all are both vsually appealing and spectacular in taste. We went with one of their popular sandwiches to try. The pastrami was PACKED in there! The crisp veggies and tart kraut perfectly balanced out the saltiness of pastrami. The green herb sauce, though, is this sandwich's wet dream. It added creaminess, a refreshing palette, and a bit of citrus flavor to amp up this sando tenfold! Warren & Co. Herb Crackers 5/5* Locally made! I checked the labels just to make sure they were local before purchasing. These were unexpectedly so crisp and savory. The lightness of the crackers tasted like you'd get them fresh out of the oven. They were perfectly dusted with flaky salt, rosemary and other aromatic herbs. I got these for charcuterie, but they were so good stand alone that I had them as a straight snack. They had a hefty display case of drinks out back and a small freezer with local goodies like a pot pie. We grabbed some kombucha to wash everything down. I noticed some desserts by the cashier also, and locally made bodycare items, but didn't want to browse any longer and keep them beyond their closing hours. This place is such a local gem. Side note - they prefer being small and local, and asked us not to post their menu on Yelp, since it rotates and people have come to get old sandos that weren't on the menu anymore. I respected their wishes but they were too good not to write about!

He looked at me and another guy and said "who was here first". We both stated I was there first and I started to say that I wanted to order a turkey sandwich. As I was doing so, he stated to the other guy "what are you getting, I'll get that started". Nice gesture to the other guy. Then, I completed my sandwich request form and put it exactly where the young man told me to. Behind a few others walked up, completed their sandwich request form and placed them next to mine. One by one, other sandwich request were completed until myself and someone else asked about my sandwich. It was only after a white lady was in unison with me and asked about my sandwich, did someone take my sandwich request form and completed it. Oh! Did I mention that most everyone else there was white in color? As i finally received my sandwich, I went to the self checkout to pay for my sandwich. After I paid for my sandwich, there was a lady there by the name of Terri. I asked Terri if there was a manager that I could speak to. Terri immediately stated "I'm a manager". I told her my complaint and Terri immediately stated I was lying. Not only that Terri asked me "did you pay for that"? On my recent visit, I was inspired my a Yelp Elite Event at Belly Barbecue in Folsom. On a previous visit, I picked up some tri-tip... just an awesome tip *do not buy the untrimmed tri-tip. It may even be at a lower price, but there is honestly there is so much fat to take off of it, if you like to trim your meat, you will be disappointed with the end result. Just buy the trimmed meat. They're bigger, too! On this visit, I picked up pork spare ribs at the good price of $5 for every 2 pounds. The rack comes out to around $9-$13+. Some of them are frozen, but that's ok. So be sure to plan ahead when buying these. Next, I decided on what sides I wanted with this bbq tray I was inspired to make. I decided on the loose bulk green beans. I grabbed a red onion to add to them and I have the garlic at home. Who doesn't like tri-colored pasta?? Well shame on you if you don't!! While I'm the produce section, I grabbed cherry tomatoes. I usually stick with the Briella brand of tri-colored noodles. A Best Foods mayo that was on sale for $3.50 each (there was a limit of 2). I also got the black olives and artichoke hearts in the same aisle. Don't forget to pick up Wishbone's Italian dressing.. it just goes best with this pasta salad. Onto dairy!! I like to add pepper jack and medium cheddar cheeses.. cubed.. and finally, my secret ingredient... Mrs. Dash! Shhhhh! Since I cook and bake by taste, I couldn't give you any exact measurements, but trust the process and experiment and taste as you go... I was helped today by Terri. I have had quite a few amazing conversations with Terri, who also loves to cook. He is always smiling when I see him. He has picked things off the top shelf for me, walked out with me to load up my groceries.. a true honest hard worker here at Safeway. Be sure to tell him hello if you get a chance! He is always there buzzing around this beautiful clean store. My bbq tray turned out fan-fricken-tastic. All of my ingredients were from Safeway in my picture below. The wife had me stop here on our way to friends' house in North Auburn on July 4th for a party. We didn't want to drag ice cream and cold fruits up from the valley and have everything melt and get warm so this was the perfect stop. This store looks pretty new. It's pretty much like all the other Safeway which is our main go to supermarket. We got the ice cream and cherries we were bringing to the potluck and then we were on our way. The parking lot is plenty big, shared with a Famous Footwear on one side and a Ross store on the other, so no problem finding spots. All in all, a well kept and spacious store with plenty of stock and fairly friendly staff. Probably a local favorite for stocking up in more hazardous weather condition seasons without having to go all the way down to Rocklin for Costco.

No I'm not going to give you the layout of the store, lol I was on a mission for dinner, so I headed to the back of the store where the meat department is. In my opinion, compared to the other grocery store competitors in the Auburn area, Save Mart has much better quality meat. After looking over the selections, I decided I was going to make peanut butter cheeseburgers when I got home. After deciding on the entree, I went for the rest of the ingredients.... and instead of smooth creamy peanut butter, I got crunchy. I also picked up the buns, Velveeta, a tomato, and Kinders mild BBQ sauce for that touch of tang. The man at the check out counter is always so friendly. He has given me great advice and I look forward to our conversations when I get to check out. Every one of my whole store experiences here is always so friendly. (Even after the meat dept closes, and the butcher is cleaning up, she still comes out to ask if I needed any help while I am trying to decide on dinner.) I used the Dukes mayo I had at home to toast my buns first. Then I shaped my hamburger meat into patties. The meat was fresh and soft. I only use salt & pepper. After cooking the meat and adding a thin slice of cheese, I started building my peanut butter cheeseburger. Thin layer of Dukes mayo, slice tomato, burger patty, and cheese. Under the top bun, I put on the chunky peanut butter with a good amount of drizzled Kinders mild BBQ. This one of a kind peanut butter cheeseburger was made possible with the tasty ingredients I bought from Save Mart. With meat cooked exactly the way I wanted it, BECAUSE of the freshness of Save Mart... it turned into the best peanut butter burger I have ever created
