The instructors themselves are wonderful, caring, and truly the reason many families stay. Unfortunately, the management and policies have become increasingly inflexible, impersonal, and, at times, frankly unethical. Of course every business needs to be profitable, but there has to be a balance between running a business and treating loyal families with respect and appreciation. Thankfully, I brought my own wipes, but that should not be necessary. To make matters worse, someone was actively working out inside the sauna, taking up the entire space, which is completely inappropriate and unhygienic. The free weight area is also extremely limited. If the personal training area were opened up, there would be much more usable space instead of forcing members to work out cramped next to benches. Overall, this gym lacks basic cleanliness standards, organization, and customer service. I would strongly discourage others from joining.

It is referred to as Lake Forest's 100-year home. I was impressed by its beautiful view of landscape when I first set foot here a few years ago. Since then, I have visited all the buildings, even its parking garage. I liked the fact that most buildings are available for residents to rent/use. The hourly rate is very reasonable for personal use, and pretty much at-cost for non-profit organizations. I often see people use this facility as a public park. Families walk their kids and dog at dusk. The center is always decorated for the holidays, very festive. The only drawback perhaps is its location, not exactly on a major street of the city. Only people has a reason to come here will make the drive. Then again, it cuts down on people passing through accidentally.
