The staff is attentive to your needs, the foods not half bad, most are single rooms that shares a bath with one other single room, the color scheme is calming and they are always cleaning! To have a successful recovery, in my opinion, these are the things that are most important. I had my second hip surgery this year and the first rehabilitation facility was the worst. Valerie in AL is a very caring woman who seems to work her tail off. Mom getting her hair done is of utmost importance, and the gal who comes on Friday to do hair is a sweetheart. I get to that other lobby and the girl has no idea who I should speak to. I sat there for 25 min--she was not able to reach anyone to help me! I went back to the front again and she could not find anyone to give me a tour either. WOW! Not sure how they even have residents in there at this point if nobody is ever available to help show you the place.

My mother in law was in there for two years. When we first moved her in, they said that there were…read moreyearly price increases within a year and a half our price went up three separate times. We originally started at 4000 a month April 2023, we moved her out this last month of March 2025 and we were at 5300. The cleaning is very lax to where we've had to go in and clean and do her laundry as well. They would bring us sheets, towels and clothes that weren't even hers and everything I had for her was labeled large with her name and her unit number on it. I don't understand how people cannot remember where things go, especially when they're put in one basket taken to do the laundry and brought back how you could get so many other Materials and exchange. These were things that could not be mistaken that they were hers, I'm an interior designer and everyone thought her room was the model. We had colored designer sheets and towels. She dressed like Joan Collins and we would receive torn brown, white. Beige towels and sheets and clothes from Ross and Walmart. Nothing that she had that was her sparkly sequence and designer clothes. It doesn't take much smarts to know who's owned what. Her toilet was always filthy and so was her sink. Things were stolen like sheets the designer trashcan, clothes, shoes, dishes, silverware, remote controls, and even her fire stick from Amazon was stolen with the remote. Of course they never took responsibility for any of that but wanted to charge us $15 to eat crappy food per person and when we would want to eat with her so we never did. They tried to charge us for Christmas and Thanksgiving and we never gave them the tickets cause we weren't gonna pay $20 apiece for our little tiny meals. They ended up losing their memory care license in January 1925, and we were told she could be there all the way through to the end of her life when we moved her in. We were pissed off that we had to spend more money to move her because they didn't renew their license. Another thing they're doing is people that are in need of more care and are sent to the hospital, The facility is calling the family members and telling them they can't return after they get out of the hospital and they have to find them a different location that has more care. We were very pleased with it at first, but then very disappointed because of the drastic turnover all the time. My mother-in-law was also being bullied by the man across the hall and no one told us for weeks. Someone that worked there finally called us privately on their day off and told us this is what was going on and we had to go and talk to the Office to find out why she's being treated this way and why they're allowing it. As far as everything else, it's a fantastic and lovely facility. It's just another one of those corporation owned companies that are raping old people for money and not getting the care they really need. It's sad this country does not think of the elderly or have proper care and of course it's only going to get worse under our current administration.

Placing a parent anywhere at anytime is often a difficult decision, several months ago we placed my…read morefather into the groves. The groves is a nice place and my father has made the adjustment and now feels very much at home here. The thing that strikes me the most is the entire staff has done everything imaginable to ease my fathers transition into their care as well as our family's transition of placing him into their care. The grounds are behind locked gates, both my wife and I received keys and are free to visit 24/7. This is in sharp contrast to most other homes that have rigid limited hours of visitation. In addition this unlimited access gives us great peace of mind that nothing weird is going on after hours and that our family member is safe and having his needs met. When not providing resident care the staff is always busy cleaning or cooking and always seems to be on the move. The absence of the odor of urine at the front door is a tell tale sign that your loved one is being properly cared for. The floor plans are wide open and large, but still warm and almost cozy in many ways. Institutional residence Vs. jail would be a nice way of saying it. I had my father in independent living for many years and when the time did come that his ability to self care was over and the time was upon us to upgrade the level of intervention and assistance we toured over a dozen places before deciding on the Groves. It's a choice we are happy we made without regrets. The staff has been very helpful, and while all the staff has been exceptional, Jennifer in particular has been fantastic with my father. And Mary sets the standard of great care. I think the greatest fear we have in placing a loved one into a care home is that are we doing the right thing? I think the need to do the right thing over shadows our need for caution out of fear we might do the wrong thing. Both my wife and I are happy we have made the right choice in placing my father at the groves. My father has made it his new home and has adjusted well. We pick him up numerous times a month and go to breakfast, take him to his appointments and after granting them permission, he often leaves in his electric chair to get out and conduct his personal business. While everyone's need are different, our needs have been met and again we are very, if not extremely satisfied with our choice in placement as well as the care and interaction my father receives at the groves. I do wish it was easier to load my wheel chair bound father at the curb, but since the staff and the owners seem compelled to park closest to the building it force me to load him into a vehicle from the gravel areas Vs. at the sidewalk.

Do not place a loved on in here unless you live nearby and can come on short notice. This place was not our first choice for my MIL but it was what she wanted. My husband toured The Cascades, which was his first choice HANDS down. Too bad MIL did not agree and, therefore, our hands were tied and we greatly regret placing her here under a one-year commitment. AVOID at all costs.
