When concerns were brought to her about Janice and her staff she mocked me and did nothing. Janice was a marketing director. She became the Executive Director and I do not believe she ever had prior caregiving experience. She never checked / or seemed to care on what was going on inside those houses. She was often understaffed and residents were neglected. From my miserable experience of having my father there I heard of 2 people who died from falls that may have been prevented with proper staffing and care. I also was told of a women who died because she was ill and staff was not doing much to help her. One staff member advocated for her to be seen by a doctor or nurse, but her voice was dismissed and the woman died. That employee was heart broken and left her position there promptly. The final straw for me and two other family members of residents : they were allowing employees to bring their sick children to the home while they "worked" and they all had Covid with symptoms!!! In fact they were pushing them to come to work even though they were symptomatic. Avid this place. It's very sad to see that many of these facilities are mainly focused on making money rather than providing the best care for helpless seniors. It can happen to any of us, anyone of us can end up in a place like this and change needs to happen!! Avoid Villas on Houghton and La Cañada as they are both ran by the same Janice and same corporate office management.

She had anxiety and depression with her dementia on days when Bishop wasn't there. There were falls and issues on days when he wasn't there. Mom and other residents said he made the best food.
