If I could rate Footstock higher I would. I have had a problem with my 2nd toe on my left foot for over a month. I thought it was broken but it didn't consistently hurt and I could not recall a causal impact. I made an appt with a podiatrist but I could not wait so I decided to go to Footstock in Wellesley which I used to go to Boston before that location was closed. Anyway, the owner evaluated my problem, recommended a few pairs of shoes that had the proper fit and in-sole and voila....problem appears solved. I bought 2 pairs of sandals and a beautiful pair of shoes plus I received a treatment plan since the toe needs attention. The prices were excellent!!! I will back in the fall read more

Worst customer service in my life. I went in to the shop to purchase a gift. The first interaction from the sales person was a nasty "we don't sell men's shoes". The attitude got worse as I tried to explain what I was looking for and my intentions to purchase a gift. I left empty handed as it was clear they weren't interested in my business. It's not often you go into a store and they teach you something! The staff here is so knowledgeable and willing to help. I went in to check out some shoes on the sale shelf and wound up chatting and learning all about proper fit and my feet. It seems rare these days to find people who actually know their stuff and care to share it with you. I'll certainly be shopping here from now on. This used to be a good place to buy women's comfortable, fashionable shoes. Now they seem to be focusing on the fashionable part. I've been in twice in the past five months to find Ecco, a brand they used to carry. They keep telling me they're "not carrying them season" but will have them soon. They didn't have them in June and they didn't have them in November. Two strikes and you're out. I just ordered Ecco shoes on line from Zappos. read more

I'm wondering if this business got sold and has a new owner. I bought a very expensive pair of shoes in the Wellesley store in 2002. The staff was fantastic, knowledgeable, friendly and the shoes saved my feet. I went back a few years later for replacement foot pads, they remembered me, again the service was great. And then again a couple of years after that to get the shoes re-soled. And again, great service, friendly. I just went in there to drop the shoes to get resoled and was thinking of buying a second pair (we are talking $300 shoes here). They made me feel I was imposing on them just by being in the store. huh? Looks like on-line for me to get that second pair. read more

Footstock Wellesley does not honor their return policy. I brought back shoes within the one week period. I have never worn them. The woman who sold them to me said the soles looked like they had been worn outside. I promise you I tried them on once in the house, realized they didn't look good and brought them back. Just moved to the area and prefer to shop local, but I will not return to this shop. read more

I have shopped at Foot Stock for many years and always had wonderful, friendly, knowledgeable service. I was recently at the Concord store. The shop is not large yet the salespersons managed to ignore me. When I asked to go upstairs to the sale area, I was met with a deep sigh! The woman followed me upstairs, never spoke or asked if she could be of any assistance or guidance. When I had selected my purchase, I was closely followed downstairs and yet no one offered to complete the sale. I had to ask if it was possible to purchase the shoe that I had in hand. Jessica once again seemed annoyed. After so many positive experiences over the years, it is quite sad to see that this is what Foot Stock now represents. I have bought all my socks at Footstock ( and my shoes) for as long as the store has been open(decades) . Now I have two pairs of socks I bought this fall that have shrunk so much they cant be worn. The store says the washing instructions say no dryer. I say I trust them to stock socks that can be treated as socks are , in the dryer. they would make no adjustment for this . I will buy my socks elsewhere as if they cant back me up, they dont have any concerns about my best interests . Bad business from a usually good store. read more

However, I have not returned to the store because I found the sales staff to be poor. They acted pompous and unfriendly. When I walked in, I was ignored. I love this place! It is pricey, but totally worth it! They have great shoes for work (especially if you are going to be on your feet all day!) and many of them have built in orthotics and great arch support. Casey is the best! Although all the staff there are super friendly and helpful. read more

I won't be shopping here again. I needed to buy my toddler a decent pair of shoes and I decided to shop a local business instead of going online. Well, next time I'll just go online. Despite the fact that there were no other customers in the store, I had to greet the salesperson instead of vice versa and it was like pulling teeth to get help. She was rude and indifferent. When I told her I was excited to buy local instead of ordering online, she said nothing. I ended up spending $50 on shoes that I just saw online for $35. This was totally not worth it and I wish I hadn't kept them. What a waste! read more

sales staff here have always been friendly to me. sometimes nobody says more than a "hello" to me as i browse, but that suits me just fine - i don't like intrusive sales staff. i work down the street and often pop in to see what's on offer without buying anything, and nobody's ever made me feel weird about it. there are usually some good deals to be found on smartwool stuff here around wintertime. the shoes are generally out of my price range, but i've purchased some very nice sale items here, and i do like that a great deal of the expensive shoes are resoleable. just wanted to put in a good word. read more

I went into Footstock a few weeks ago per a friend's recommendation. I have terrible pain in my feet, and need a supportive, yet stylish shoe that I can wear all day at work. The two young women that were working there were fantastic. After I described the pain I was in, they were able to suggest a pair of shoes that would help take pressure off my heels. They were very knowledgeable about which shoes were designed to do this. We spent about a half hour looking for exactly the right shoes, and they were able to answer all of my questions. I am generally a very picky person, but I walked out completely satisfied with my choice. A week after wearing the shoes, my feet no longer hurt on a daily basis!
