Sean is part owner of the company, came out, did an audit of how much insulation we had ( which was only 2-3 inches, which should at least be 12.) and made suggestions. Updated Review: Once I posted my original review I was contacted immediately and received my report via email. I have changed my rating from 3 stars to 4 stars as the owner was apologetic and remedied the situation quickly. If I could rate the customer service provided by the office staff separately it would be a 3.5, the field employees attitudes would be a 4.5 and the report itself would be a 3. The promptness of the response after I posted my review is a 4.0, but I should not have had to wait a week for my report. Overall the experience was fine, but I guess I expected more from the report itself. This company is working hard and have some good employees. An energy audit is probably the least expensive way to get a very general assessment of your homes health. If you need more professional assessment you will need to pay more and hire an HVAC engineer. Original Review: I contacted FOR Energy after seeing their listing on SRP's website as a energy audit contractor. My initial contact was with a scheduler who might have taken some notes about my concerns. My second contact was when they confirmed the appointment a day before. When the employees showed up we had a pleasant conversation and they explained generally what they would be doing. I got the sense that one employee was there to perform the audit and the other was there to identify opportunities to sell goods and services. It took about two hours from start to finish and in the end they determined that our new home is sealed too tight (target of 3.5-5 and my home is at a 1.9) and we have at least one return duct that was pinched. The employees are super friendly and I appreciated the work, but neither of them are insulation experts or HVAC engineers so the information they could provide is very limited. Overall the information may prove useful when dealing with my builder (Meritage), but here I am a week later and I still do not have my energy audit report, but they do have my money. read more

R44 fill was used for replacement and many necessary improvements were added in a professional manner. This is a long review, but I urge you to take time to read it thoroughly. My goal is to get you to make an informed decision, not rely on someone's personal integrity or word when MAKING the sale, only to be offended when that same personal integrity and word is challenged when it goes off the rails. You can't have it both ways. FOR has a history here of having reviews deleted for not describing a customer experience, and this one describes not an experience, but a nightmare. I am not urging you NOT to do business with FOR, but take a look at your P&L of experience, black and white value from other customers (don't take the word -- ask to see before and after utility bills) because when those savings don't materialize, the catch phrase is "well, we said up to ..... x amount of savings." Tyler Nay was the person who came out to my home after I asked for an estimate seeing them on the morning shoes. Gave me his PERSONAL word of honor that what he was selling me would get rid of all the dust "see this dust here ... gone ...." and would make a massive difference in our utility bills. The quote was nearly $14,000 for the highest level of service, which included sealing all the vents and foaming the attic. Please bear in mind, and I have emails, that the owner of FOR indicated EVERYTHING they did was wrong - that my case was the classic poster child of how NOT to treat a customer -- yet they helped themselves to payment and never looked back until an inspector revealed they had charged me for work they had not done -- this comes into play later in this story. The crew came out the first day to remove the current insulation and bolted out of the house sitting on the curb "googling" asbestos tape scaring myself and daughter that there was asbestos in the attic and acted like people who had discovered the lottery to a class action. They refused to continue working in the attic. Another crew was sent out, there was no asbestos. I rock along and an independent inspector comes out and inspects and says "you didn't pay these guys yet did you?" and I find out there is a HUGE area that I was charged for that wasn't done, that the vents weren't sealed, and there was a ton of material in the attic that wasn't removed per spec. I am not physically able to get in the attic and inspect the work, but FOR represented that THEY did. FOR issued a 10% refund for the 10% of space they did not do, and would not have issued that refund at all if the inspector had not caught them. I had dust all over my house. more so than before the money was invested. My electric bills were GOING UP not down. There is more dust today than when FOR came out. The foaming clogged the whirlybirds on top of the house and caused damage to them. My bills and useage is higher. FOR had to come out and disrupt my work (I'm a chief marketing officer for a New York company) and fix things they said they did in the first place, but were caught by an inspector in not doing the work that Tyler gave his personal integrity that they would do. This comes into play because the one thing I cannot abide is someone who is dishonest, drives hard to the court to make a sale, and then you get the opposite result. The continued discovery of the worst possible workmanship (and the owner says I've apologized what more can I do) and higher electric bills was more than I could take. Tyler became offended that his personal integrity was being called into question -- after all - "we refunded money," and when I asked -- would you have refunded that money if you hadn't been forced to by an inspector, he said nothing. Of course he couldn't. FOR indicated they were putting an appliance monitoring device on the box to see which appliance was pulling the most energy and when I googled the appliance it wasn't designed to do that. At that point, FOR stopped communicating. I wanted to put some time between that experience and sharing it with those who are weighing whether to invest in FOR. My husband and I have sunk nearly $125K in our home in landsdcaping and home improvements When I talked to Tyler I said we were deciding between buying two brand new high efficiency HVACs and him and that's when he pulled the personal integrity card and all the things FOR WOULD do for us, later to say well we said may do for you. We may as well have set fire to the money we paid these guys. I think their machine tests are not accurate and show the data that they want you to see. I asked for Universal Lab data showing the accuracy of their machines and didn't receive any. Later architects and contractors have told us we should have bought the HVAC units. Look at your P&L, make sure you get everything in writing on the WILL DO and MAY DO. I have all the emails and invite anyone to look at what we have showing the owner described us as the poster child of a job where FOR did EVERYTHING wrong. Again, not encouraging a boycott, but take everything into consideration. read more

We hired Affordable Energy Solutions through SRP to complete an energy analysis on our home. When they came back out to go over the details and their findings, we mentioned we were planning to sell our home within 2-3 years. With that in mind, Jen recommended the items that would be the most beneficial to use, giving up the "best bang for our buck". Every person that came into our home during the process from the beginning analysis through the completed work was professional and friendly. My husband said our garage was cleaner when they left than it was wan they arrived. We immediately noticed a difference in the comfort of our home with having our thermostats set at 79 degrees during the hours we are home after having AES seal out ducts, complete an Air Seal in our attic and install new insulation. I had For Energy put installation in my attic. They put in 18 inches of cellulose in and foamed some areas to seal them and sealed the ducts. When all done I still had leaks in my condo and failed the energy star standards and paid $4000 for the work. It made NO difference in my energy bills and I was promised to see a $40 reduction every month. I called several times to reach Adam and had to leave a message. Trent usually answers the phone. The cost of film on the windows is high. I don't think I got anything for the money I put in and still waiting to get my green energy certificate to show I had my condo attic insulated. read more

Update 1/9/16 The management came back and met with us a few weeks or so ago and are currently here trying to make things right. We shall see how this goes, but after so many times of getting things wrong with nothing but excuses offered I am not expecting much. We were given a refund of some of the cost and had some freebies thrown in to try and make things right only after my family and I spent a good time talking with them and listening to more excuses on why it was not done right the first 3-5 times. I can appreciate the refund and the free items, but it took a good bit of negotiating on our part to gain them. The crew showed up today to fix the work, they didn't have everything they needed to do the job and had to send someone out to get it. (I happened to overhear this otherwise I would have never known.) Still unprepared it seems, disappointing. While the crew works, the management called us out to talk once again. They offered their apologies then swiftly went into asking me to take down this review. I offered to update it, but that didn't seem to be enough. I believe that reviews should be updated so that potential consumers know exactly what they are in for. They should see the good and the bad. The fact that a company wants consumers to remove reviews makes me think they are only interested in one thing. It is amazing how quickly they got to work after this review reached them. After receiving a phone call soliciting an energy audit, I agreed to and scheduled a free home energy audit. They sent me an email confirming the appointment, two voicemails and a second phone call to confirm the appointment details, a text message to confirm the appointment and then they didn't bother to show up. How do you make all of this effort to schedule and confirm the appointment and not show up! I had to call them to say the guy didn't show. Total waste of my time. They called again to reschedule. The person on the phone said he didn't have control over what happened but he could guarantee it wouldn't happen again and when I said "no thanks" he hung up on me. read more

Excellent SRP energy audit from Heat Thermography (Jason O) prior to the work recommended. Costs were very high on this, probably over normal pricing, but the work done does appear to be (and tested out to be) very good. Communication was good, though a bit disjointed at times. I would recommend getting secondary quotes from other suppliers, but don't hesitate to recommend a quote from AES, either...for any work that needs to be done. Be sure to research the work recommended and determine your own directions first! read more

People don't believe what this company sells you. First, they say they will install solar panels for your home with no upfront fees or down payment. Then they give you a presentation about how much energy you can save and want to run your credit so you can apply for a 25 YEAR LOAN WITH 2.99% interest. They make you believe that you will only pay FPL to have your account active but your FPL bill WILL go up when you are not using solar energy if it's cloudy, rainy which it always is during the Florida summers. In addition, they say that you will get a 26% tax credit/government incentive but when you read the contract IT'S NOT GUARANTEED!!! The whole thing is a scam to lock you in a 25 year loan with interests so you might only save a very small amount of energy for what they are selling you and making you believe you will save more a bunch which is all a LIE!!! You have to deal with 3 companies For Energy, Titan Solar and Loanpal. Cancelling with Titan and LoanPal was a breeze but when we wanted to cancel with For Energy they would ignore us and give us the run around. I don't put no stars because I can't!!! read more

They stayed and ensured that the promised work was completed and added in several more things that were not in the original work order to "make things right". They even compensated us financially for all the times I had to take off work. We were looking to insulate our attic because it's almost 50 years old and was completely bare in some places. I called 4 companies to get quotes but the decision was easy. Jen came out with Tyler and did a full inspection for free. Tyler took pictures and videos and Jen went through them with us and explained what exactly we were looking at. Tyler then came through the house and checked the return for the A/C as well. After she showed us all the pictures, she went through our options. In the end, we had them cover and seal all our recessed lighting, reconnect and seal the duct work in the attic, seal all the framing and gaps in the attic and wiring in the framing, seal the registers and return in the house, and blow in insulation that they guarantee not to settle below R38 in the attic. For all that, I paid slightly more than what other companies were going to charge for just sealing the recessed lighting and blowing in R32 insulation. Because the are SRP and APS certified, they were able to get me rebates on the work and it is guaranteed with a pre and post energy audit. Their crew was great. They showed up on time, took care to clean up their mess, and were very respectful. Adam and Jeff kept us informed every step of the way. I can't say enough good things about this company and their work. If you are looking into making your home more energy efficient, give them a call. You won't be disappointed. read more

I purchased a duct seal and duct movement from rafters to attic floor. Their employees came out to our house and only sealed ducts without informing us that they did not complete the job. I called them after I discovered they did not successfully complete the job. I tried to get them to come back out to fix it. They claimed they would but they sent someone to check work but still did not do the job and they have failed to recontact me. read more

AES did awesome work on my house. They applied their E-Shield window film to the kitchen and living room that received a majority of the daily sun. This has cut down the heat drastically in those rooms. They also sealed our A/C vents for maximum efficiency and wrapped the water heater. All this combined with a new, efficient A/C unit has cut down energy bills quite a bit every month. read more
