Why do they always lie and say they contacted you that glasses are in, when they haven't reached out like they're supposed to? If they did text or call, guess what, I would have a record of it on my phone. Instead, the glasses sat there for OVER A WEEK and no contact from them! Just admit: you're being lazy, and nobody bothers to make the call, because the customer will always come looking for items they've already paid for. There are too many other places to get glasses in a timely manner to deal with this waste of time. read more

I used For Eyes because they take my insurance and it was around the corner from my home. For accuracy purposes I want to state that I purchased the lens and not the exam or the frames. Because I didn't like the frames that that they have in stock I purchased a pair of frames made by Versage and brought them in. It took 16 days for the glasses to arrive. I called twice and both times they told me that the glasses were in quality control but on the 16th day I received a phone call. I looked over my glasses and they had dirt residue around the lower part. They took them in the back and they cleaned it, I put them on my face and because I was concerned about my vision and the adjustment to my eyes I didn't even bother to look at the frame once again. When I got to work I notice a shiny reflection from the top of the frame and I noticed that the top of the frame was all scratched and damaged. I called the store and spoke with Roberta the manager and she said she wouldn't do anything about the frames because I signed a waiver that had no cash value and could only be used for a pair of frames up to 89 dollars purchased at the store. She said she would replace the glasses and the frame with one of theirs up to the 89.00 dollar value which one of their lowest priced frames. She mentioned the policy over and over none stop and she didn't care about what I had to say. I even offered to purchase another pair of frames and have them reimburse me the 89 dollars and she said no and continued to talk over me and quoting the policy and the more I talked the more she talked. No customer skills whatsoever. I'm a customer and right or wrong she shouldn't argue with me and be apologetic. She never apologized for damaging the glasses not even once. Bad management. Bad service. I will never go back to this place. Worse quality I ever received on a pair of glasses. Not right that you receive this type of service from a store chain like this. I love the doctor but it always takes forever to get through a checkup here. They also push selling glasses a lot but since I wear contacts it doesn't make a lot of sense for me to buy glasses each year. The doctor is very accommodating when I forget to renew my appointment in time to get new contacts (oops). read more

This in a poor location in a shopping plaza that is difficult to get in and out of. There is frequently a long wait for service and different workers give different information. I was told I could bring contacts bac if unopened but when I got there they said I could not. Their paperwork showed my latest exam was in August when I had one on December. I would not give them.one star if I did not have to. read more

I checked in for my appointment at 3:00pm and sat in the waiting area (4 lounge chairs in front of the desk, a tight space to begin with). I swear, I got multiple wafts of a pee smell. May have been someone next to me, but may have also been the chairs or the rug. I stood up and waited. I wasn't called until 3:40pm, and the doctor didn't see me until around 3:50pm. The doctor was very nice, but I hated the wait time, and the facilities felt a little run down. I don't think I'll be going back. read more

My appointment time was at 4:30. I checked in with the girl at the front desk and was told it'll be a few minutes. An HOUR later around 5:40 they finally call me up just to tell me that there is an issue with my insurance and I will have to pay way more than I originally thought for my exam. The doctor is very nice but they always waste my time and there seems to be an issue each time. The bathroom is also very gross and smells bad. This For Eyes is very busy on the weekends. This tends to make the wait a little longer, however, the service of the employees never digressed. They were polite, quick, and professional. When I was called back for my exam, it took all of 15 minutes from start to finish. When picking out my frames, the woman assisting me was very attentive and aware of my style preference and size. She was actually able to get glasses to look good on me! Thank you! I hate the idea of putting in contacts every day! I received my glasses in one week and even though my prescription is very small I can see a noticeable difference. Overall, great experience, but be prepared to wait a little if you're going in on a weekend. read more

Well, this was my first time at For Eyes... I usually go to Pearle Vision on Aramingo in Philadelphia I guess you could say Pearle Vision spoiled me, when it comes to the contact lens exam. When I called to schedule my appointment at For Eyes, the appointment was made for the same day. The person who took my call, asked if I was coming in for a eye exam, contact exam or both. I stated I wanted to get an exam for glasses and a contact prescription to fill elsewhere. I was told over the phone that it wouldn't be a problem! When I came in for my exam, I completed the routine paperwork. I was taken to the back, where I asked more questions about the contact exam, because I was being told it would cost anywhere from $115-125. Pearle Vision included it in their basic exam and it costs me $0. The technician informed me that I would get better information from the doctor, granted I hear the two of them discussing it in the hallway, my hesistance towards paying the $115-125 (the cost of the fitting). The doctor came in to tell me that cost was around $84 for the fitting and that I would be given samples to take home and solution and yada yada yada. I bought in to it... Big mistake! The fitting was of demo contacts -- DEMO is clearly written on the contacts and it is quite visible to anyone looking you directly in your eyes. And not only are they clearly marked "DEMO", they are non prescription. And I was only given one pair... so, if your looking to change you eye color great... if you want to be able to see in the DEMO contact lenses... Forget about it! The doctor informed me that I could purchase my new contacts in office, because they had them in stock, all I had to do was go through the optical part, because she only completed the exams, she had nothing to do with the glasses or contacts. I paid $84 and waited to meet with someone who handled the glasses and contacts. Well, I found a cute pair of glasses, that I was happy with... I just wasn't happy with the fact that they don't do the work at their location. I have to wait five business days, because the order is shipped to Florida and then sent back overnight to the store! That sucks... and the contacts... well, they don't have contacts in stock, like Pearle Vision had... she told me that they would have to order the contacts... But, they could price match it... Well, what's the point of me ordering through you, when I can order through tsomeone else for the same price and have it delivered to my home versus through the store... It made no since at all... for two boxes of contacts they quoted me around $80... I was able to get two boxes for each eye @ Vision Direct for $90! Go me! Needless to say, I won't be doing For Eyes anymore... I'm going to stick with what I know... and go to Pearle Vision... I've never gone out to get glasses and not be able to have them the same day or the next... or get contacts that are with my new prescription to wear while I wait for my own... I truly feel like I paid $84 for nothing... Well, you learn something new everyday... and this all taught me... to stick with what you know! And with the holiday coming up... that whole five day business thing is probably going to be two weeks... My contacts will probably get here, before I go to pick up my new glasses! read more

Two young women were extremely helpful and this past weekend one of the nose pads came out, I went in Monday night and a gentleman helped. First let me start off saying that my husband and I up until recently, went to for eyes for our exams and glasses HOWEVER because of recent events with my son w will not be going there anymore. As it was some of their receptionists were rude. Whether in person or over the phone, just rude. The eye doctor is very nice but she tends to rush through exams and doesnt listen much to the patient. Matters were made worse last month when I called to schedule an appointment for my children. I have 2 young boys ages 4 &5. My 5 year old is very mature for is age however my 4yr old is a bit immature. He's not violent and doesnt have tantrums but he does get emotional and crabby if pushed too hard or he'll just shut down. I asked for an early appointment as I needed the eye doctor to be patient and thorough with my little guy. Thanks to his pediatrician we already new he had issues seeing through his right eye. Now we just needed to know how bad and if glasses would help. We took our 2 children to for eyes for their 4pm appointment. My oldest was seen at 5:15 and my youngest at 5:30 although I'd asked that they take my youngest first. My oldest was rushed by the eye doctor to read the letters on the chart but rather then get upset he just read through the letters as quickly as he could. Still with some lines, she wouldnt let him get past the first 2 letters before switching it to the next line. My oldest was so frustrated once he was done he left the room and didnt say good bye to the doctor. My kids are very polite and will talk to almost anyone so for him to not say good-bye or thank you shows how mad he was. Thankfully he got through it and we already knew his eyes were fine (from the pediatrician). It wasnt that smooth for my youngest though. First the doctor didnt believe me when I told her my son knew his alphabet and would have no trouble with the regular exam. After much arguing she went with the letter chart. I'd told her she'd have to be patient with my son and if he said he couldnt see or didnt know a letter then to ask him to guess or do his best because he will give up and want to get off the chair asap. She asked him to read the first 3 lines. By line 3 he started having trouble. She'd asked him to read line 4 and because he wasnt reading it fast enough she got loud with him so by that point he didnt want to be there. She asked him to read the next line, he said "I cant" (as he wasnt looking at the chart at the tie anyway. I told my son to look at the chart and try and just as he started reading the letters the eye doctor flipped to another line. Now my son's looking around and telling me he's want to go home. So the eye doctor decides to put the huge eye glass thing on his face. Doesnt tell him what it is or its purpose. Of course as it is she barely spoke to him at all even when he tried to tell her about the toy he'd brought with him to help him not be afraid. So naturally my son didnt want this thing on his face and started squirming. She starts telling him (loudly again) not to touch it in case he has germs on his hands so he doesnt make it dirty for the next patient. Yes, she said that. At this point I just wanted to take him and leave but my crappy insurance only pays for this eye doctor in our area and I couldnt afford someone else at the time. So anyway, she rushed through the exam, determined he's almost blind in his right eye and gave him a prescription which we got filled and picked up a week later. Now on to 3 weeks of my son crying, feeling sick to his stomach, with headaches and insisting he can neither see nor walk in these glasses. Finally last week we got our tax return so I took my son to a different eye doctor in our area. They not only were very patient and friendly with him but they also took a look at his previous prescription and were surprised at how strong it was. I was pissed and relieved to find out that my sons were not as bad as the doctor at for eyes had said. We got the new prescription and glasses the same day, paid for everything with cash at put the glasses on my son. He absolutely loved them. He said "look mommy I can see with my new glasses". I was almost in tears at the thought of what he'd gone through and how happy he was to be looking around at everything. He's worn his new glasses everyday for the past 4 days and has yet to take them off his face or complain about having them on. NEVER NEVER NEVER AGAIN will I go to For Eyes. I'd rather pay the extra money out of pocket for good competent exams than save money for inadequate ones. read more

I purchased my eyeglasses in September and ordered progressives I could not get use to them I went back in and they changed them without hesitation. The staff is super friendly and professional from picking out to picking up I have never had a problem. I will recommend this location to everyone I know that needs glasses. read more

This is my second time going here. I like it the fees are up from I went to pearl vision on rt 130 and the fees were crazy. However to each his own. The wait here can be a little long but I called today and she was able to get me an appointment within the hr. This was after calling a couple other places who outright told me that they had no available spots today. So a little wait doesn't bother me and wouldn't bother anyone who was down to their last contact and it was ripped. Don't knock a place that gets you in quickly and the Doc was nice and so is the staff and my kids are not at all quiet. read more
