I kept the name of the store in a note for when I was ready. I didn't renew my glasses for a long time and finally decided it was time. The shop is small but choices abound. I was greeted warmly, though they were busy with other customers. I noticed that Nicole greeted everyone who was there or who came in after me by name. I told her what I was thinking of trying. She welcomed me to try on anything and everything. And so I did. There was zero pressure. Nicole helped me with fit and size and I narrowed it down to a pair I fell in love with. Nicole was busy but she checked in on me often. Nicole will tell you if a pair of glasses isn't for you - which I really appreciate, because it's a big purchase! By the way, Nicole learned my name early on and used it. This is not something you see much these days. I felt welcomed to be their customer. I selected my frames and Nicole told me about their upcoming vacation, not sure if they would have them ready beforehand. I wasn't in any rush, but I did learn that they make the glasses in-house, which was nice to know! My glasses were ready in just a few days. When I went in to pick them up, I was greeted with, "Hi, Megan!" My glasses were beautifully made. When I tried them on, I was a little unsure because they didn't seem like the right prescription - I had waited too long to update my Rx! Nicole assured me that if they didn't feel right and my eyes didn't adjust, they'd remake them within 30 days. My eyes adjusted in one day and I'm thrilled with my new glasses. Nicole also adjusted my sunglasses (not purchased there) for free, and they've never fit better. I can't say enough about my wonderful experience at Fortuna Optical. You have a customer for life. Before every procedure I confirmed with them if my insurance will cover it and they said yes but after 6 months I started getting bills for hundreds of dollars and now they are threatening me with debt collection calls. Today I popped into the Cherry Hill store with a strange request, my late father's sunglasses were badly mangled and unusable and I was curious if they had any advice before I tossed them. After warning me they may be unfixable, Mallory spent the next 15 minutes mending these glasses and making them usable again. And in the process, she restored a tangible and sentimental link to my late father. And afterwards, she wouldn't let me pay her! I'll never forget her kindness and I will always be grateful for Mallory's incredible craftsmanship and hospitality. I am picky when it comes to my glasses, and I was happy that they provided honest opinions on how the frames looked on me. The office itself is very nice; it's clean, modern and has a good selection of frames. Dr. Staab was great. My eye exam was quick and thorough; the doctor explained everything and even showed me pictures of my eye on a monitor (something an Optometrician has never done for me before). They scheduled my appointment same day, had no wait, and overall provided an outstanding experience. I'm looking forward to going back next week to decide on my new frames, again, it's great to know I will get unbiased honest advice on the fit and style.
