The caramel macchiato was great too, and the cinnamon scone was the surprise winner. We also tried the pistachio croissant, which was good, but I'd pick that cinnamon scone again in a heartbeat. Service was fast and friendly. Order at the counter and they bring it to your table. There was a baby shower happening while we were there, so it was a little loud, but it didn't take away from the experience. It's a charming spot in an equally cute, walkable neighborhood. Great place to stop for brunch, coffee and something from the bakery case.

I got the gluten-free bread option though, which was a focaccia bread. Talk about a pleasant surprise! It was light and airy. The sandwich had a fried egg, a little runny, with avocado mash, bacon, and some aioli. It came with sausage, but I got it without. Oh and it had a side of grits...super creamy and filling! I also had the pistachio cloud latte with oat milk. I dined in, and it gave me an opportunity to check out the bistro. They have indoor and outdoor seating. They also have wine and mimosas. I got some carrot cake muffins and blueberry crumble cakes to go. They were truly delicious!

Whether it's cupcakes, cakes or cookies, we were satisfied with just about every item bought. It has been a minute since I've done a review, so it was time to see what they've been up to. I was the only customer inside when I walked in when one of the workers said 'Hey, where have you've been?' You know it's a great thing when staff knows who you are even if they don't know your name. At first, I was going to buy a Strawberry Cake bomb. But I saw they had Strawberry Shortcake with whipped topping. They've had it for months from what she told me. So, I decided to give it a try. The cake itself was really good. Moist, not too sweet and flavorful. Sophia used to make strawberry shortcake for years and liked this one. I actually gave her half of mine which she saved up for the next day and it was still delicious. Another win for Scratch Bakery. I know for sure I can rely on them for much needed treats. You know we'll be back again soon :)

They are located next door to Lormnava Afrik Cuisine. Female-owned and black-owned....two huge pluses in my book. Upon entering, we were greeted by the hostess behind the counter. They have side seating but it's mainly a takeout spot, which is completely fine with us. You can also smell food from the back once you enter. Truly a great presence for fans of sweet treats. I ordered a cinnamon roll stuffed with caramel apple. One lady ahead of us ordered the same thing I picked for someone else. But once she opened up her case and smelled the goodness, she was like 'I know I ordered this for someone else but I want to eat it!' So she ordered one for herself as well. Ha! Anyway, onto the order. I can say I was impressed. The stuffed roll came out hot and ready to be devoured once we got home. Very sweet and savory. The caramel apple topping was very good. The only slight negative was I would've liked the roll to be a little more soft when you break it apart, but nonetheless it was good with every bite. Not a bad first time if I say so myself. This is bound to become a new favorite spot for yours truly. Till next time :)
