I took my dog in for grooming, as I normally do. However, the person I had specifically requested did not groom him. I'm not sure if the person who handled him was new, but it was a man I had never dealt with before. When I picked up my dog, he had blood around his eye. The owner cleaned it with a cotton pad and told me that my dog had injured himself. Once I got home, I realized he also had an injury on one of his ears and another injury on his leg. The injury on his leg later opened up and started bleeding. His condition continued to get worse on Sunday, and by Monday I had to take him to the veterinarian. He was prescribed antibiotics, pain medication, and a topical cream for the wound. Since Saturday, my dog has had to wear a cone and take medication because of these injuries. When I went back to the grooming business to request reimbursement for the veterinary expenses, instead of handling the situation professionally, they threatened to call the police. The owner also told me that the man who groomed him wanted to take me to court. In other words, my dog and I were the ones dealing with the consequences of what happened during his grooming appointment, yet somehow they acted as though they were the offended party. Initially, their proposed solution was to send me to a veterinarian in Hialeah, which I declined. During this situation, I was called dishonest and a bad person. They only agreed to reimburse part of the veterinary bill after I asked about their insurance. Businesses that provide grooming services should have insurance to cover accidents like this, which left me wondering whether they actually have appropriate coverage. The veterinary hospital even had to contact them directly and send them photos of my dog's injuries. They also had to change the name on the invoice in order for the grooming business to process the reimbursement, and even after all of that, they only reimbursed part of the bill. This has been an extremely upsetting and disappointing experience. I am sharing the photos taken at the veterinary hospital so others can see what my dog went through. I sincerely hope no one else's pet ever has to experience something like this. read more

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me; Yesterday was the second time in two years my dog has been injured during the grooming process here; both times the situation has been poorly handled by the attendant; first time he tried covering but when confronted he accepted and later the owner called me to apologize; we decided to continue supporting the business; Yesterday a big chunk of her ear was taken, and all the attendant (same one) was able to say was "it is not our fault, the dog moved..." needless to say that yesterday was the last day we took our dog to this business. read more

I wish I could put 0 stars, My beautiful golden retriever went here for a trim, He came out shaved, it was the worst cut I have ever seen on a dog, they took all his hair off him. I went there and the owner only said sorry, They have no idea what type of grooming certain dogs get, they just shaved, it will take a year for some of his hair to grow back. This is absolutely the worst place I have gone. I took my dog there this morning for them to cut his paws and just give him a bath. I got there to pick up my dog and he was anxious. Once I get home my dog is crying and licking his parts. We go and see why he is licking so much and my dog was bleeding. There was absolutely no reason for them to touch him with a razor down there. This place is so unprofessional and I don't recommend it to anyone in Weston. I called to speak to them about it, they did not own up to anything they did. I would not leave my dog here for one second. On Tuesday, 8/6, I witnessed a man beating his dog outside this place (in the back between Walgreens) and when I called the salon they acted like complete idiots and had no care in the world that a small, tiny dog was just beaten and being brought to their place of business. read more

I have taken our Maltese-Pomeranian there for a while. Nothing but good stuff. She loves coming here and when she comes back it is like she had been out playing with doggie friends. They care for our pet as if it were a human customer! They are also very good in following up with us if we haven't taken her to be groomed in a while. All around it is a professional and courteous staff that makes FPO the only place we trust with our baby. read more

My son took the family Labradoodle to "For Paws Only, 1681 Bonaventure Blvd, Weston FL" for her usual grooming. When my son returned home, the dog had a large patch of hair missing down to the skin on her right side. The area was 6 in long by 3 in wide, just about the size of dog clippers. Something happened while the dog was getting groomed. We took the dog to our vet to make sure her skin was not damaged. He said it was ok, but the hair would grow back dark brown not the light beige color of the rest of the coat. When we bought her we paid a premium for a Labradoodle with a uniform beige coat. Now we have a Labradoodle with a large dark brown patch on her light beige coat. When we returned to For Paws Only, we were met by nothing but denial. "Oh no...not us"... "The dog came in that way." What! Every excuse in the book, but not one apology. The owner down right denied any problem. Her groomer would not do that she said. When the groomer said that's how the dog came in, I knew was dealing with a very poorly run, dishonest business where the groomers lie right to your face. They do a good job but they take way to long. I usually drop my dog 60lbs with medium hair around 9am an I won't see her back until 5 5:30. The place has some serious time management problems. read more
