My daughter and I had an appointment here today and met with Stacy (sp?). She made us feel welcome and at home from the moment we walked in the door! We spent over two hours with her and my daughter tried on about 10-12 bridal gowns. She was so helpful and sweet and made our joyous event of shopping for a wedding gown together even more special! Stacy encouraged my daughter to also step out of the box and try on some gowns that were out of her comfort zone. She brought veils and belts to give us alternatives looks for the dresses. I knew I was in the right place the minute I walked through the door! As the mother-of-the-groom I knew I was in for a challenge; I had done this only 5 years ago for my daughter's wedding, both for her dress and mine. Gabby greeted me with a warm, pleasant smile and asked me a few questions to get a feel for what I was looking for. I told her I had many challenges this time, including a recent mastectomy and not being that size 6 younger mom like the ones in all the photos online. She was so positive and said, "we'll find you the right dress". We looked at many gorgeous gowns, the selection is one of the best I've seen and covered many body types. We found 4 I liked. When I questioned different things about the dresses and worrying how they would look, she said, don't worry we will make it work. Kathy, the alterations expert, came out many times to answer questions since my dress would need some extra work and to tell me what she could do. I had a great experience trying on wedding gowns here with my mom. We had a reserved appointment time so that our consultant could give us individualize attention and we had the entire shop to ourselves. They have a large inventory with up to date styles, headbands, and veils to try on. Although I didn't find 'the one' here, I highly recommend checking them out! read more

All I have to say is DO NOT GO HERE!!! First of all I'm now $400 deep in a dress that is maybe worth $150. They lost our measurments after we tried on the dresses. Then ordered me a size too big. I came in tried it on and they charged me $198 to be altered, mind you my dress was $178. Then I go back today and the dress is still too big! And want to charge me another $35 to take it in more!!!! So they are continuing to charge me for something they did wrong in the beginning!!! I am so mind blown at how pathetic their business is!!! read more

This is seriously the best bridal store to go to, for everything! I went into the store about a year and a half before I even had a wedding day picked out just going "I'll get an idea of what I like, and then go somewhere bigger later." As someone that is bigger (size 16 normal sizes) I went in "knowing" that if I did find my perfect gown I would need to have it ordered because stores don't typically carry the sizes that I would need. This store however made me feel wonderful about my size and my body and really took into consideration what I was looking for in a dress! I found my gown! And it is perfect in every way. I was even able to buy it off the rack, which saved me some money in the long run! When it came time to get my dress altered, there were no hiccups in the road. I went in for my 3 fittings and walked out on the third fitting with dress in hand ready to go! My bridesmaids and mother/ grandmothers did not purchase their dresses here, they went to a department store just because they really couldn't spend over 100 on a dress which is understandable. Still, Wendy (the owner) was flexible enough to allow us to get the dresses altered in her shop even though they were not purchased here! It was such an amazing experience from start to finish. For anyone looking for a bridal gown, or just s special occasions dress I will forever say, "have you been to For the Bride yet?!". I called Wendy on recommendation from my wedding venue to possibly have my dress steamed for our destination wedding on Fort Myers Beach last month. Wendy was great and said to just call her when our plane got in and I could bring it to her on the way to our venue. When we arrived, I definitely needed her help! She was so great! I dropped off my wedding dress and my husbands clothes and she had them steamed and ready for us to pick up a couple hours later! I had the most terrible experience here. First, when I went in for my fitting, the seamstress scarred me with pin needles. She didn't even apologize or offer me a slip. Then, after I scheduled the date for my alteration completion, they dropped the ball and had the audacity to tell me that my dress hadn't even been touched yet. Her excuse was that they had dresses scheduled on back log!!! My dress should have been ready for my upcoming wedding. Do not dare go to these people if you need someone dependable or accountable. Bad experience -- these people are rude. We went just to look at 3 dresses and make future appointment -- my girlfriend had been in the previous day and saw some good options. We were told as we walked in the door that we could not even look at any dresses because there was a "trunk show" and many "buyers" would be arriving soon. My daughter bought her gown here. However, I have to say, we were not impressed. Other reviewers mentioned Wendy and how great she was. I don't think we had any contact at all with her. Other staff were not particularly knowledgeable. The seamstress gave me the impression she was not interested in making the dress fit. My daughter wears a sz 2 dress and has a great figure with tiny waist. So I was not happy to have the seamstress tell us "That's just the way the waist fits" when we asked for adjustments. Wendy and her staff have a gift. We had picked a gown elsewhere and had it "on hold", so we really didn't think we'd be buying at For The Bride. First of all their dresses are bea-u-ti-ful. This was almost a problem for me, because you are admiring the detail of the lace, etc..and forget that the dress needs to make the bride look beautiful too. However, they know what styles will look good on a body-type and they'll somehow get you in that dress that makes you look amazing even if you come into the store dead-set on a different style. Beyond dresses, Wendy and staff are like your girlfriends. We never felt rushed and I think we were probably keeping them past closing time because we were hanging around and chatting and getting advice on everything from the grooms attire to how to handle wedding stress. read more

Bad experience! This shop was highly recommended so I called and made an appointment with Wendy. We arrived early for the appointment so we looked around a bit. We did acknowledge we were early so we perused the dress options. Wendy was finishing with a bride. Meanwhile Rosie who was phenomenal and earned For The Bride the one star had us pick 5 dresses saying that Wendy would help us find the perfect dress and fit. Rosie then came back 20 minutes after our appointment time to get our experience started. All the while Wendy had finished with her bride and never came over to our appointment. Wendy was rude and never acknowledged that she was running late or even came to the fitting area to assist the bride with the consult. Wendy went to the back of the store and never came out. Not even a smile or apology for never showing up for the appointment. We had a family member come from out of town to come along with us for this important day. Don't go , Wendy the owner is rude. I had anxiety shopping for a dress and knew that I am not the smallest and skinniest (I wear a size 8 normal woman sizes) and wedding dresses typically come much smaller than that. What an amazing experience! I loved everything about the boutique!!! The selection of bridal gowns, bridesmaids gowns, mother of the bride... just amazing. Wendy is amazing, I didn't buy my dress from her but brought it in to get fitted. She made my bustle happen the way I wanted but I don't love the way Carol her seamstress is with customers I left there upset more than once and they don't call you before making adjustments to make sure it's fine. Flowers were added to my dress to do the bustle and I had no idea and wasn't too happy being I didn't even have flowers on my dress at all. Also she doesn't listen to you on how the dress fits I had to tell her three times she pinned my strap and then stitched it too tight I couldn't move my arms at all!! Seemed like the things I wanted fixed was an inconvenience. Bone was supposed to be put in the front, which was never done as well. After I found out she has a second seamstress I recommend going to the other lady and not carol. read more

I had pretty much the worst experience ever at this store. I agree with most of these reviews, MOST of the staff are great. I, unfortunately, was stuck with a horrible person who made me feel like the fattest person alive. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you aren't supposed to feel fat while looking for a wedding dress. I almost started crying at one point. While I don't remember her name, she was an older lady with blonde hair who would not put me in any dress that I picked out to try on. She repeatedly said that I wouldn't be able to fit into dresses and kept telling me to look in the plus size section "because there's no way you'll fit into any of these dresses". SOMEHOW I found my wedding dress while I was there, but you can guarantee I did not buy it there. I bought it at a wonderful bridal store in Bonita where the lady said "I actually cut open a dress one time so that this girl could try it on". So if you are looking for a wedding dress and don't want to be ridiculed for not being a size 2, don't go to For the Bride. read more

Reviews were very misleading and I can almost guarantee the owner wrote them herself. I went into "For the Bride" earlier today with 4 of my bridesmaids. I was looking to purchase my wedding dress as well as 8 of my bridesmaid dresses. A lady by the name of Stella was helping us and she was AMAZING! She was very sweet and really took her time with each of us. However, this review is getting a 1 (I would've given it a zero if I could) all because of the owner of the store , Wendy. She was EXTREMELY rude to her employee, Stella in front of me and my 4 other bridesmaids. All of us were in complete shock that someone can run a business while treating their employees the way she did. I have NEVER witnessed anything as unprofessional as what she did. If it wasn't for the way the owner spoke to her employee, she would've gotten a lot of business from me today (8 bridesmaids dresses and a wedding gown). That being said, she left the worst impression on me and my bridesmaids and I will defiantly NOT recommend this store to anyone. Some advice for the employee Stella, (as well as the others if there are any) please get out of there and know that you do NOT deserve to be treated the way your boss was treating you, no one does. read more

As the mother of the groom, I knew I would have trouble finding a classic style somewhere between "matronly" and "prom" as I prepare for my son's August wedding. However, it took me only one stop and one dress before I found exactly what I wanted. Dianne had lots of experience and advice as we ordered my dress, and she was very helpful with decisions about color and size. If everything else could run this smoothly for THIS groom's mother, I could relax. I recommend them for mothers' dresses and for special occasion dresses (based on the ones I saw). Wendy the owner helped me to find the perfect veil and hair piece for my wedding! She took the time to work with me one on one. She was able to look at a picture of my wedding dress from my phone, find me the most perfect veil and hair piece, and was willing to customize my veil to my liking.
