Everything appears carefully considered and efficiently executed. The layout is purposeful, the operation is remarkably well organized, the space is impeccably clean, and the presentation of the products is both attractive and inviting. The restaurant's steady stream of customers throughout much of the day is hardly surprising. There is an obvious rhythm and efficiency to the operation, yet it never feels rushed or chaotic. Instead, there is a sense that every component of the business has been thoughtfully orchestrated. The staff further reinforces this impression. They are exceptionally friendly, courteous, and accommodating, but what stands out most is their knowledge. They are able to answer questions, offer guidance, and navigate the extensive menu with confidence, making the experience both comfortable and enjoyable. And the menu itself is a destination. It offers an impressive range of choices, with an appealing variety of meats, sandwiches, sides, and beverages. There is far too much temptation to reasonably expect one visit to be sufficient. In fact, choosing what to order may be the most difficult part of the experience. Their version of the muffuletta an outstanding of the original. Particularly their version of the bread, which was fresh, and warmly toasted renders it a cut above. Cochon Butcher is therefore a restaurant best approached with the intention of returning. One visit gives you an introduction; several visits allow you to truly appreciate the breadth of what they do. The combination of organization, cleanliness, quality, knowledgeable service, and an extensive menu makes Cochon Butcher a particularly impressive example of how a busy restaurant can operate with both efficiency and character.

We noticed a guy sitting by himself and offered to buy him a beer if he'd let us join him at his table. He said yes, and it ended up being part of the fun experience! The food was excellent. We ordered the Cochon Muffaletta, which was huge, packed with flavor, and definitely a must-try. The mac & cheese is an absolute MUST--creamy, cheesy, rich, and easily one of my favorite things we ordered. The beer was great too and paired perfectly with the food. The atmosphere is casual, lively, and exactly the kind of place you want to experience while in New Orleans. 5/5 -- great food, great beer, and absolutely worth the visit. I would definitely come back!

I recently met a gentleman from Lil Butcher Shoppe at my local Rouses who was cooking up smoked…read moresausages and handing out samples. I tried several different flavors and my favorites were the pineapple and jalapeno. They are now making their sausages available here and I picked up some right away. Lil Butcher Shoppe is located at 1910 Broadway Dr in Hattiesburg, MS, and has been proudly serving the Pine Belt region since 1991. This family-owned and operated "olde-fashioned" butcher shop offers a wide variety of fresh, high-quality meats, local products, and excellent customer service. From its humble beginnings at Tip's gas station to its current thriving location, Lil Butcher Shoppe has become a beloved fixture in the community and now making their sausages products available in stores. Their history, brothers David Lawson and Steven Dyar founded Lil Butcher Shoppe over three decades ago, drawing inspiration from their family's history in the service industry. Prior to opening the butcher shop, David worked at Tip's, a gas station named after their mother, Christal "Tip" Lawson. The family managed the various locations from the years 1974-1990. David had worked in the family's gas station business his entire life, where he learned business management and customer service skills. After serving in the Navy, Steven Dyar began working at Carroll's Meat Shoppe, Patricia (Trish) Dyar's family butcher shop in Jacksonville, FL. This is where Steve learned the butcher trade and fell in love with Trish, whom he married. In 1990, the couple decided to move back to Mississippi. Lil Butcher Shoppe boasts a vast selection of fresh, hand-cut beef, pork, chicken, and seafood. Customers can also request custom cuts to suit their preferences. In addition to high-quality meats, the shop offers a range of homemade items, such as: * Stuffed Potatoes (6 flavors) * Bratwursts * Boudin * Meatloaf * Smoked Chicken * Stuffed Porkchops * Stuffed Chicken * Gumbo * Mardi Gras Pasta Sauce * Casseroles * Stuffed Mushrooms & Peppers * Crawfish Pies The shop also stocks an assortment of cheeses, homemade jams, and various ready-to-bake dishes. With such a diverse array of offerings, Lil Butcher Shoppe truly caters to a wide range of tastes and culinary needs. I have already prepared a number of dishes for breakfast and dinner using several of these sausages and I'm a fan. The pineapple flavor is very good just grilled on a bun with a pineapple slaw and the jalapeno one is great with beans. I have more ideas and there's lots of ideas. Bottom line: Lil Butcher Shoppe has stood the test of time as a family-owned, community-oriented establishment in Hattiesburg, MS. Offering an extensive array of high-quality meats, homemade dishes, and local products, it remains a go-to destination for residents and visitors alike who appreciate quality and exceptional customer service. Customer service here has been going downhill. The first strike is when I ordered turkey breast for…read morethe holidays and they gave me the whole carcass with just the breast on it. So they basically charged me for a carcass that I can't eat. Who gives you turkey breast with the carcass attached like the whole rib cage. I just got a meatloaf from there and it's not all meat. Now they add SOY to their meatloaf to cut down on their cost for them, but still charge us a premium price for the meat. Soy does not belong in a MEAT loaf. I will no longer order their holiday turkey breast because they're charging me for A carcass along with the breast. Now I will no longer order meatloaf because they're charging me for meat and yet they cram SOY in the so-called meatloaf. It's getting pretty close to the point where I just won't shop here anymore. There was also a time where they re-wrapped meat with a new date on it and forgot to remove the old date. That's not really legal. I don't know who is doing all of this, but it's not how little butcher shop used to be. Whoever is in charge now needs to stop it immediately before they get turned in to the proper authorities.
