In Feb of '22, I started having trigger finger and visited my doctor who gave me a steroid shot. That wore off after about 6 months and was basically told that surgery would be the next move since I didn't think another round of steroid would be effective. In Dec I started to get treatment at Forest Acupuncture. Initially I went weekly and then eventually spacing out my treatments. After about 10 treatments my trigger finger was resolved. Short version: this is an affordable clinic with compassionate, gentle owners who have good instincts and can set you up with a treatment plan that will provide significant relief. Truly excellent bedside manners and a healing touch. Long version: As someone suffering PTSD from medical traumas, I'm not exactly the best at seeking out help or visiting a clinic I've not already heard about through folks around me. I'm so glad that I gave Forest Acupuncture a chance, though. I went in due to discomforts in my abdomen and chest caused by ongoing digestive issues that seem to have escalated into something I'd never experienced before--in short, it was a scary time. But the two owners of the clinic were gentle, compassionate, and just above and beyond in all ways. It's not easy to put me at ease in a medical setting, but I have to say, Dr. Kim's bedside manner is genuinely top tier. I could tell he was very careful and considerate in the way that he gave me the rundown of my diagnosis and treatment plan. He explained every touch he had to make and made sure to check in with me throughout the different treatments. And can't forget about the money aspect: there are places that have done much less for me and charged thousands. Forest Acupuncture does not overcharge you, and the costs of their treatments are transparent. My recommendation is that you ask upfront what the estimated out-of-pocket costs are and what you might need to pay with insurance. Be sure to note that once you give your insurance information at the front desk, they may not get the chance to call your insurance provider and find out your exact benefits, your deductible, and etc. until you're done with your treatment. So just be communicative with them, and they'll do their best to set accurate expectations for you. If you've got pains, give this clinic a shot! read more

This is such a great place! I threw my back out and they got me in right away and helped me tremendously! I was nervous about needles and they went slow and made sure I was ok. A nice relaxing atmosphere and clean rooms. I also loved that they didn't try to get me to come back for follow ups once I was better just to get extra money. I first saw Dr. Kim in January 2022 when I had Bells Palsy. The traditional treatment is anti viral and steroids and and maybe up to 4 months for recovery. My (short) story: I tried Forest Acupuncture after receiving a diagnosis of inoperable Dupuytren's disease in my left hand. For those who don't know, Dupuytren's is the growth of fibrous tissues in the hands, and it can present in a number of different ways and can progress differently, at multiple time scales, among different patients presenting the disease. In my case, the disease had produced three distinct nodes in my left palm, which was chronically inflamed and consistently "locking" or freezing the mobility of my 3rd to pinky fingers. All symptoms of intermediate-to-severe Dupuytren's. Little is known about how to cure this disease in Western medicine; my own diagnosis was simply to wait until the disease progressed into locking my fingers at a 90 degree angle, then undergo surgery to remove as much of the growth as possible.
