I went to Dr. Chang for my shoulder and back pain. I had shoulder pain for about an year and back pain for 7-8 years. She created a treatment plan with multiple exercises, sitting posture improvement, vibration therapy, activator adjustment instrument, massage and hot/cold gel. After about 10 visits, my shoulder pain was completely gone. My back pain issue improved a lot. She didn't use acupuncture as my insurance didn't cover it. June is great too. Her massage was helpful part of the treatment and is easy to communicate for appointments and followups. Highly recommended. read more

Saved my life! Dr. Chang is the first doctor who listened to my chronic pain issues and actually took it seriously. I had two major car accidents that left my lower back weak and caused bad TMJ. After dealing with dentists, chiropractors, PCPs, and ENTs who blew off my pain as "all in my head" I was desperate. Under my Kaiser insurance I had two free acupuncture appointments a month, so I decided to try it. After just 2 visits, I finally started to feel less pain in my lower back and neck. Dr. Chang really is thorough and kind, she wrote down all my complaints, and checked in with my pain level at every visit. She made me feel like I deserved to be healthy. Dr. Chang really paid attention to my mobility issues (I am only 32) and was able to request more visits based on the severity of my condition. I have been going to acupuncture about once a week and it has reduced my average pain level from a 7/10 to a 3/10. This is huge as it has reduced my anxiety and allows me to exercise more and made bigger steps towards losing weight and changing my habits. It is also a really relaxing experience. I had no idea acupuncture was so calming and healing. I was able to release a lot of my pent up pain and frustration caused by the pain and lack of mobility. I will keep going to her indefinitely - acupuncture has been the most effective tool in my health journey. As for the office - safe location in Glendale, free plentiful parking in the building, not too busy, clean office (you go in and use a touch-less thermometer and hand sanitizer in the lobby) and there is a clean restroom on the same floor. A friend referred me to Dr. Chang after she was cured of pain in her calf muscles. My first visit with Dr. Chang was a very positive experience for me. I left their office with increased mobility in my shoulders; a warm feeling from the smiles of Dr. Chang and the other female Accupuncturist; and the confidence that Dr. Chang will be able to restore my shoulders back to normal. The only reason I didn't give a 5-star rating is because there were more add-on charges that I felt should've been included in the accupuncture service, i.e., heat lamp fee (applied for 2 minures - $5), massage therapy fee (pressure points applied for about 3 minutes - $30), and $10 for 2' of tape. A friend of mine recommended that I go to Shin Acupuncture after his wife had excellent results. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and started to experience a flare up after having been in remission for a couple of years. I started working with Kyo Kay Chang to not only get myself back into remission but also to counteract the negative side affects of my Rheumatoid Arthritis medication. I had excellent results. I've been to Shin's clinic for two sessions so far and my experience was highly disappointing to say the least. The person who treated me had a very poor knowledge of English and was barely able to understand my issues. How is it possible to treat an ailment if you are not able to comprehend what the ailment is in the first place? I also found the staff (especially Dr.Chin) extremely impersonal, curt and abrupt, not willing to discuss any changes that my body might have gone through since the last session. After paying nearly $150.00 the least I expect is a minute of time to explain what my needs are. Insurance covers, but the doctor would tell people that their back or neck is very messed up and will require a massage. The tricky part comes in when the doctor will say that is an extra charge of $45.00 and not tell you about and will say the co-pay does not cover it. When you ask why they'll tell you it's because you required a messaged. Thank you be INCLUDED in the cost! I would not recommend this place. The doctors will try and charge patients extra without telling them. This is not a trustworthy place. read more

I had never had acupuncture so had zero experience when I went to see Dr. Chang. I had shoulder and neck problems that were limiting my mobility and causing a lot of pain. Dr. Chang combined deep-tissue massage treatments with the acupuncture and in just a few weeks I have experienced huge relief. The pain is much reduced and the mobility has really increased. Really surprising results! I did everything the doctor recommended and was willing to experience the discomfort of the deep-tissue massage which was an ideal setup for the needle treatment.
