From a Portuguese man that's been having churrasco from all around the United States, Brazil, and Portugal, I'm extremely disappointed in you guys. I don't know if my chicken was pulled from the bottom of the charcoal pit or if this is how you want to serve your Chicken. The cooking techniques of Forest BBQ are not what I'm use to at all. I got a smoked soggy bbq chicken instead of a rotisserie style. The skin was not consistent with a crispy barbecue style. Yes, there is such a thing as smoked bbq but I know this is not what you're trying to achieve. I will say the flavor on both the rice and chicken were good. The rice was undercooked slightly. You also forgot to give me fries with my order. You did follow directions and gave me a side of hot sauce. Also, what is going on with your health rating? I read the comments from the health inspection. You folks need to get your business in order. I haven't written a review less than three stars in awhile. You are truly giving Portuguese Churrasco a bad name. I hope one day I can trust you again, but for right now, it's a no go for me. small and quiet, staff seems very friendly and helpful. Food was very bland and not made with any kind of love. The past reviews that I've read about this business is partially correct. The chicken was dry and over cooked, plus the beef ribs had too much seasoning to taste the quality of the meat. This business has been in the area for a long period of time and for them not to take customers reviews and comments seriously only leads me to believe that they need to work on customer service and satisfaction in the quality of food they're putting out. I spoke to the manager Eva, she seemed interested in my reviews of the meal I had, but not sure if they're going to make any changes to how they do business. Got the lunch special two pieces chicken with rice and beans, beef rib, chicken & cheese empanadas and fresh passion fruit juice. The chicken was well seasoned with crispy skin and not dry. The beef rib was freshly grilled. The empanadas was ok. The fresh passion fruit juice tasted like it came from a powder mixed. The service needs a lot of improvement. The person taking order barely speaks English. We waited over 15 minutes for the beef ribs and she forgot my chicken, rice and beans until we asked her. Great food to be had here. The place is small with a few tables in side and a small menu too, but what they lack for a size in Menu they make up for great food. Their BBQ chicken is very well season as their BBQ ribs ( the chicken literally falls off the bone ). I recommend getting their mini comb. It comes with 2 pieces of BBQ chicken and two pieces of BBQ ribs. I recommend rice & beans to go along with that and don't forget a side salad it compliments the meal well. read more

On one of our random location nights we went here! The place is small but does have some seating. I do suggest take the good to go or for delivery as it gets really hot in the location. Upon our arrival we were immediately greeted by the hostess. She was extremely kind, attentive and patient with us as she went over the menu with us. We ordered a lot of food. The empanadas were great! As for the BBQ food We absolutely loved the pork! The chicken was good as well. We weren't thrilled with the beef. The rice and beans were also very good. Tonight was my first time eating from this restaurant and they were really nice squeezing my order in and delivering to us. By talking to the lady in the phone you can feel the warmness of this people. I love Portuguese BBQ style because this is the food grow up with but the food at this restaurant was just ok for me. The portions are huge but the meat and chicken were dry and too well done for my taste. Ribs you can't cook and put back in the grill - - - reheating. I guess I need to go to them and eat over there. I would love to be reviewing the food right now but it never showed up. I ordered my food around 5:15pm and it said 6:15-6:20pm delivery which is fairly normal. The delivery time came and went so I gave the restaurant a call at around 6:30pm to check on it. The person who answered the phone said "sorry, lots of deliveries. I apologize." I said okay, no problem. 7:15pm... still no food. I was able to cancel the order via the delivery app I ordered through and they took care of it. The restaurant never followed up and the food never came. I was excited to try the place since it's been around for so long but how can I try it if you can't get me my food in fewer than two hours? And then you don't even call back or check in on me to let me know what happened. There are restaurants where this has happened to me and they call me to apologize and offer a discount or simply just say it won't happen again. Radio silence here. There's plenty of good BBQ places on the island, I don't need one that can't make my food and deliver it in a timely manner and then not even call to apologize or own up to it. Horrible. read more

Slightly expensive for the portions you receive, this is a Portuguese BBQ I think but not sure they do a rub instead of drenching your meat in sauce, but you'll receive a decent sauce on the side. Overall it's a friendly place, you'll receive a smile at the door and everything is very clean. I had a hair appointment next door and reading the name made me crave some mac n'cheese and ribs so after I got my hair done I decided to get food here. To my surprise, this is not a Southern bbq place- it's Portuguese! I have never had Portuguese bbq food, but it was delicious! It is a small place, seemingly family owned and operated. The workers were so sweet and happy that we liked our meal. I shared a full rack of ribs with white rice, black beans and tostones. The portions were really big, we even had leftovers. The ribs don't have bbq sauce on them, but they give you a squirt bottle with bbq sauce. I was very delighted by my experience and I will be back! read more

The food was pretty good. The name is pretty misleading though lol. It's more of a Latin food restaurant, however it is legit bbq. The spare ribs taste just like dad's ribs straight off of a grill. I was excited about the restaurant after seeing and passing it numerous times, because I love Brazilian/Portuguese food. Recently one night I was hungry and anxiously stopped by to try the food. I was very disappointed to see the "Grade Pending" sign from the health department in their window. WTF! Grade Pending means that they failed their inspection by the Health Department and were not clean enough to get an "A" grade. After a not so good inspection by the health department, restaurants have the choice of posting a less than "A" grade such as a "B" or "C", or "Grade Pending", which means they are waiting to be inspected again and hopefully will get better results. If you go on the NYC Health Department website you can look up the restaurant name and see what violations they received and why they did not get an "A". I do hope that they get their act together soon, because I would really like to try their delicious looking and smelling food. read more
