Bakery is a hit or miss with quantity of items. Most days I stop in, they have what I'm looking for. Never ate in, always ordered out. So happy we're not far from here cause I'll definitely stop in. Gives me the Chinatown feel without being in the city. They also serve roast duck which I'm a fan of and can't wait to try. Baked goods are delish. Pork buns are cold, but just throw them in the microwave when you get home, and they are sooo good. Staff is friendly and wanting to help. I'll be back for a dine in. read more

I've been coming here for a while to get congee for myself and my family. Today, I went to grab an order of congee with fish and the fish just tasted rubbery and inedible. First time experiencing this and it did not leave a good taste in my mouth. I love their congee but after this one experience, I'm not sure if I want to go back. read more

I got a notification that there is a new authentic Cantonese restaurant/cafe/bakery in town in Staten Island. So I have to go check it out. At first glance, the space is not large. You enter and tables are right inside. This is probably one of the first most authentic Cantonese places I come across on the island. It is unique in a sense that it tries to accomplish so much and accommodate many populations at the same time. I can't tell you if I should call it a restaurant or cafe. For instance, right when you walk into the restaurant/cafe, you get a sense that if you want to sit down to eat and dine, you can expect services. Though, this is not typically how you'd feel if you were to walk into a Cantonese bakery. In a regular Cantonese cafe, you are not expecting services. Rather, you can buy a cup or milk tea or a Bao, and you can chill and gossip with your friends. To sum up, just know that you will get service if you are getting a meal here. The waitresses are incredibly nice and warm. In the left side of the room or straight ahead from the entrances, there are counters specifically for takeouts . I ordered 1lb roasted pork, Cheung fun, a honey tea, and a Bao. They are pricier than Manhattan and Brooklyn, however, all are incredibly delicious and authentic. I recommend it. read more

A cold morning's google search for best congee on Staten Island (I didn't really have high hopes) turned up 1468 Hylan so we gave it a try I am so glad we did as it's been a favorite visit for the last few months. If it was in Manhattans Chinatown it might have seemed good but ordinary (other than the warm and welcoming service) but for Staten Island Cantonese it's fantastic Favorites include roast pork, roast pig, noodle soups, congee (be sure to try with some of the slightly sweet soy sauce on the table), buns and egg tarts. This cafe has authentic Cantonese food and it is SO delicious! The star of the show is their 3 combination: roast pork, roasted pig (crispy skin), and roast duck leg dish over rice. Other items we ordered: Asian vegetables (choy sum), beef fried noodle, shu mai, shrimp rice noodle, and chicken feet. They have sauces on the table for you (soysauce, chili oil, hot sauce). They do sit down (4 seaters and a bar stool area) or take out. They also have a selection of steam buns that you can take home to steam (bbq roast pork bun, pork bun, chicken bun etc), we got the steam pork bun and it was delicious! It had bits of shrimp in it too! We microwaved it at home. They also have baked goods like pineapple bun, custard pineapple bun, hot dog bun and so on. Prices are reasonable! I will come back! The staff are so nice and attentive. When you come here you MUST get a roasted meat with rice!!! Staff speaks English, Cantonese, and mandarin. They have parking lot. My Chinese family has been waiting for one of these restaurants on Staten Island for a long time, and we were so excited when we stumbled upon this place during a google search. The place looked pretty nice and well kept online which held to be true once we arrived. The inside looked very clean and new, which aligns with the fact that they had just opened a month prior. When we walked in, we were afraid that they didn't have any more of their bbq left because we only saw the roasted pig in the window, but when we asked, they had everything. Even though we were taking out, the service was still exemplary! The waitress was kind enough to let us sit at one of their tables to wait for our food, pouring us tea and refilling it as needed while we waited. They were all super nice which is a breath of fresh air from your typical chinatown restaurants. We ordered a little of each bbq item (char siu, roast pig, roast duck, chicken) and a couple of their other dishes (they have a bunch of different baos, dim sum items, noodles, etc., just ask for their menu) and were pleasantly surprised by how good it was. The meat was tender and was not dry at all, which is a common complaint of my family when we order from other places. We have also been trying to find a place on Staten Island with good chow fun, and this one was pretty good. Overall, we will definitely be returning to this place again! read more

one of the rudest restaurants I have ever been to. we are chinese and the waitress was extremely rude and yelling at us. that is not the way to build your customer base. I would gotten up, told her off in chinese, and walked out if we didn't have to stop to get food. this is the last time I will go to this trashy restaurant. we had also came here when they first opened for take out and their soy sauce chicken and cuttlefish was taste. don't come. read more

I was actually informed of this spot by Yelp, so thanks for the info. 1468 is an interesting mix of bakery, takeout, and dine in Chinese cafe style. It even has the fresh roasted meats that hang in the window. Not something you see often in Staten Island, so we were happy to have this available locally. It's somewhat small, but has an assortment of popular food items. Their cooked menu is larger and is in line with higher prices these days, and I thought the dim sum menu was pretty extensive with better prices. I thought the food needed a little more flavor but this wasn't a deal breaker. The staff is friendlier than those in other parts of the city. They kept our cups filled with hot tea and were happy to explain the food menu with us. They even have a kiosk where you can order your food and pick up at the counter. Just like other more western fast food eateries. It's located conveniently on Hylan Blvd and I would certainly be returning. read more

The food has no flavor whatsoever Thay gave us Large portions that unfortunately we gave to the dogs. We ordered the three separate platters that were hot on the bottom and room temperature on top which the meat is on top of the rice. The duck the pig and chicken were barely seasoned the rice was dry and tasteless the bok choy needed some garlic but was good because I like vegetables but that didn't save the rest of the meal. Update! This business has installed new signage. The previous sign was a leftover from the business that used to be in that location. I'm happy to report that I'm officially obsessed with this restaurant because of the freshness of the dim sum & the wide selection on their menu for both eat-in and takeout. As I previously mentioned I still am not a fan of having to wait for a tiny table and eating in such close proximity to others. We're still going there to choose our food and bringing it back home to eat in comfort. read more

i order bbq pork with rice and I got totally something different. It was fairly simple what I ask for and they couldn't get it right. horrible service and don't recommend going. read more
