Love going to Cast Iron Pot, but was getting tired of hauling out to the Signature past Fort Lee. So I was pleasantly surprised to find one closer to me in SI! Service was prompt-- we were seated almost immediately once our whole group was gathered, and immediately began to be served. Meats came out fast. They have a 3 meat at a time limit here, but given that they're doing most of the cooking for you, it helps keep things fresh and things are coming off the grill pretty quickly anyways, so the limit does not really come at the cost of velocity of consumption (if you're that kind of AYCE eater). Service here is pretty proactive, coming by regularly and taking orders promptly. We got a mix of meats and sides throughout. Pork belly is a winner, both slabs and slices. Beef intestines were not as we remembered from other locations, but nonetheless good. Sliced beef brisket and jowl are also good cuts for folks looking for something new. Not too much of a fan of marinated meets, but I'm sure they'd live up to the same level of quality too. One huge plus about this particular chain (for which you do pay a bit of a premium in the price) is that they have pretty amazingly efficient grills and vents, such that you can largely avoid smelling like your AYCE KBBQ afterwards. So glad this KBBQ spot opened on the island !! I had a fantastic time here taking my friend out for her birthday dinner. For all you can eat, the pricing is unreal and the quality of meats to choose from is fantastic. There are so many options for side dishes as well including soup, noodles, steamed egg, and more. I was so delighted that a cast iron pot opened in SI and I don't have to travel to queens to have this. The lunch price is unbeatable with great cuts of meats. The japchae and crab soup was the highlight of my meal. Bulgogi and pork belly were another must haves. Friendly staff, large comfy tables. Everything was made fresh upon order. I started with the Soju Sunrise drink, and that was good. The next drink was the Soju bottle drink original, and that too was good. For food Vincent cooked for me and I got the Marinated Chicken, Spicy Chicken, Japchae noodles, Butter squid, Spicy squid Bean paste stew, and the Spicy tofu. I stopped by to try out the all you can eat Korean BBQ option after hearing great things from a few friends. I'm glad I gave this place a shot, because now it's my new go-to. For the all you can eat option, you have a 2 hour limit, which in my opinion is more than enough time. You can choose 3 proteins at a time, and unlimited sides. The servers are helpful and attentive throughout your meal. Our server answered any questions we had, and made sure to check-in anytime he saw we were running low on food. They cook the meat for you and the grill pan is swapped out fairly regularly. They don't have Galbi on the menu which was a disappointment. Glad there's finally more Korean spots in Staten Island! This place is AYCE and has 19 meat/seafood options to order from for dinner. You can order 3 meats at a time and have around 2 hours to eat. The staff will cook all the meats for you! The marinated meats are a lot better than the non marinated meats. Service is fast, they switch the cast iron grill every 3 meats. The restaurant is very spacious and great for groups. The parking lot isn't very big and is shared with IHOP. I have been waiting for this spot to open! I've been to other cast iron pot locations and don't remember being this impressed with them. I'm definitely a fan of this location. Solid AYCE KBBQ experience. Only complaint is that everything is slightly too sweet. (Sauces and marinaded meats are all too sweet.) They do have jigaes and stews which KPOT doesn't (though they offer a AYCE hotpot option.) We were really looking forward to a nice and decent KBBQ in Staten Island, but unfortunately the quality and service left so much to be desired. Firstly the service. Our server John, was very slow and not attuned to our needs. He left our meat cooking for too long where pieces were left burnt and crisp. There were also no tongs left on the table for us to cook ourselves, so we can only try to flip the food with our wooden chopsticks. Keep in mind you're only allowed to order three selections at a time, and when we tried to order more, John told us to wait as he went to take the check of one table, then cook for a few other tables before coming to put in our order, which then took time for them to prepare and made us wait even longer. Keep in mind they do have a good amount of staff, but for some reason some tables are better taken care of whereas others are tossed to the side, which unfortunately made us feel forgotten. We also had to repeat our order a few times for sometimes they forget to input it and sometimes brought us the wrong meat. The Mexican/spanish busboy staff were more diligent at their job and actually helped get us what we asked more often than the Korean staff that cooked the meat, so definitely ask the busboys if you need something! Ambiance: restaurant is spacious and has television all around playing music videos of various Korean bands. Pretty comfortable so no complaints there at all. Now onto the food: Beef brisket: like many other reviewers, the brisket was nothing special and since they left it cooking for a while without attending it, most of the pieces were overly charred which made it even less enjoyable. Hanger tender steak: also nothing special, for the texture was only somewhat tender and the sauce didn't really enhance its flavor profile. Garlic cube steak: lots of people recommend this and it is definitely very tender. But the garlic flavor was a bit off to me, kind of reminded me of the flavors of escargot. Not a bad pick so definitely worth a try. Top blade steak: chewy and not tender, don't get it. Cast iron steak: definitely one of the better selection, for it's tender and flavorful when combined with the sauces and spices of your choice. Get this if you like steak! Marinated pork rib: this is just mediocre for us, for its sweetness overpowered the flavor of the meat. It's tender but that's really it. Bulgogi: just a very sweetly marinated beef dish, too sweet in our opinion and doesn't taste that good. I'd skip it. Sides: Japchae: overly peppered where it overpowered the entire dish. We really couldn't taste anything else asides from black pepper.. Rice cake: decent where it's chewy inside and crispy outside, not bad. Steamed egg: typical average steamed egg with lots of scallion. Bean paste soup: very salty where we needed to add water to dilute its saltiness, don't get it. Overall, the only food that was remotely tasty, was the cast iron steak. Nothing else was that good and the service left a lot to be desired. They can definitely improve by having one server attend to only 3-4 tables and put a little more effort in their work, for a few of them just kept walking around leaving only one server to take care of 7 at times. Also, it would be nice to give customers tongs so they can cook themselves, and also tell diners when the food is ready, they often just cook it and leave it and it appears done but there's no interaction so it's just up to us to guess and try it ourselves. We've been to many KBBQ where the servers are very attentive and lets us know when it's done and even ask how we like it cooked. Thus, this experience was probably one of the worst I had in KBBQ and for its dinner price tag of 40 bucks per person, it's totally not worth it and I wouldn't recommend it. If you do give them a shot, best of luck and I wish them the best in improving the quality of their meat and the quality of their inattentive service. Loved trying out this place with my friends! Food was good for sure. Our server was pretty cool and attentive to us. Only bad comments I have is that I think our server initially forgot to put our dumpling order in when we asked in the beginning, so we had to ask again, but they were delicious after we finally got them! I tried the spicy beef soup for the first time and it tasted a bit bitter, but I don't really have any other spicy beef soup to compare it to, so I'm not sure if that's what it's supposed to taste like. Nonetheless, the actual bbq items were delicious and I'd love to go back again to try some more! I have been to the Cast Iron in Queens and I was happy to hear that a new one opened in staten Island since that is much closer to me than Queens. We decided to come here on a Saturday evening and we did not have to wait for a seat! Our waiter was super friendly and nice and very informative about the menu. Overall - you order three meats at one time but you can order as many sides as you want - the reason for this is that they change the grill ~every three meats so once they change the grill you can order for meats. For the protein and side options we tried a while variety of items: -Spicy Squid: honestly much better than my expectatinos; very tender, and the flavoring was delicious -Marinated Shrimp: This was okay - they actually cook this in the kitchen and not on the grill in front of you -Marinated pork rib: HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I've never had a bad experience at a Cast Iron, and this new one is great - especially if you're getting from Brooklyn to NJ through SI. Service is friendly and attentive, and the server is happy to walk through the menu if you're not sure what's going on. Honestly, really great deal for the protein focused individuals. Parking can be problematic due to small parking lot shared with a very popular IHOP. We took a risk (tow zone) and parked in the shopping center behind the restaurant - so do you. If you have social anxiety like me, here's the low down a head of time if you're not familiar. AYCE KBBQ (both marinated and non-marinated proteins), 3 servings of whatever you want per round. The AYCE menu also includes sides (fried dumplings, japchae, etc.). The server cooks at your table, don't expect them to toss shrimp at you, this is not hibachi. Hope this helps! We came here as a party of 9, with small kids for a celebration. To be honest, the food and ambience were great but the service and management needs improvement. Service was slow and not welcoming, except for the hostess who was really nice and the busboys who were attentive. - There was a 2 hour eating limit and at the 1.5 hour mark, we were told it was last call... so we ordered a few last things. When the server (John) got to the last plate of meat to cook... this is how the conversation went. Him: Do you still want me to cook this? Us: Yes Him: Are you sure you'll finish? Us: Yes, we will Him: You know we charge for any left over food, right? Us: Yes, don't worry. We will finish it. Him: You sure?? Us: YES, you can cook it. We'll finish it. We finished it. I don't understand why he was so persistent with asking us. The more appropriate way he should've addressed this from the start would've been "Just wanted to remind you guys we charge for any leftovers, did you still want me to cook this?", let us answer, and left it at that. He wasn't pleasant from the start, and anytime we wanted to order anything, it seemed like we were a bother to him. If you are worried people won't finish things and want to let them know of the fee for leftovers, then this should be disclosed at the beginning when the server introduces himself before we order. If you don't want to be bothered with people ordering things since IT IS AN AYCE, then invest in the option to let customers order from a device at the table. - I called beforehand about bringing a cake and was told there is no charge and they can even cut it for you. So I brought a cake for my friend's celebration and told the hostess it was going to be a surprise. I taped two candles on the box. I asked the server (John, again) if he could please bring out the cake at the end. He replied "you only have 3 minutes left..." with the check already in his hand. I told him "it's a surprise for my friend, can you please make an exception? There is no one waiting" And he said "I'll talk to my manager" Manager comes over and his first words were "hi I'm the manager, what do you need?" At this point, the friend we were trying to surprise is already wondering what's going on? I get up and redirect him to the front desk so we can talk in private, and he reminded me there is a 2 hour limit but since nobody was waiting, they will let this one go. Great, thanks. I probably would've appreciated it more for John to have asked us if we were ready for the cake towards the end, you know, when he was so strong on reminding us that we had to finish everything. And after all that, they brought the cake out still in the box with the candles taped on the outside. We looked at my friend and was like "surprise?" I had to ask the hostess for a lighter and the busboy for plates. John never came around to say thank you or say goodbye. He looked like he didn't even want to be working on a Friday night (which is TOTALLY understandable, who does?) but then don't work and ruin other people's Friday night. I went with a group of 6 and was seated very quickly on a busy Saturday evening. The food was delicious and a nice experience. When you make your order the waiters actually cook the food. They tell you when it's ready to eat. The garlic steak and chicken was my favorite. The waiter/cook seamed really busy but manager took over to help until another waiter/cook to come in to help. Came here yesterday (2/17/25) with my family and service was really terrible. We were promptly seated and we ordered a Coke, hot tea, Shirley Temple and Mango Lemonade with the waiter (KK). Coke and hot tea came quickly but the other two drinks didn't. After waiting over 20+ minutes, we asked our waiter, where is our drinks. He said they are coming, so we waited. After waiting another 10+ minutes, we still didn't get our drinks. We asked again and our waiter said they are making it. So we waited again and we still didn't get our drinks after waiting another 5+ minutes. Later we asked our waiter how much more longer we have to wait for our drinks since our kids had already had a full meal and were thirsty.
