The place is small, with a primitive interior, cheap utensils, and paper plates. It has a food smell that soaks into clothes if you choose to dine in. IMO, Tandir Rokhat should be considered as a takeout only. The food left mixed impressions with some dishes being excellent but others - far from so. Overall, I may recommend Tandir Rokhat as a takeout place for excellent tandir samsa, manti, baklava, and perhaps lulya kebab. Food ordered Samsa Tandoori - delicious! Tasted great and fresh, plenty of meat and flavor. Belyash - it was pretty good. I wish it was made right on order rather than reheated but it was still good. Manti - excellent! Juicy, thin dough, flavor tasty filling. These are huge! Pumpkin Samsa - pass on this. Under salted and lacking flavor. Lulya Kebab with Potatoes - very good, flavorful, but somewhat over salted. Side of roasted potatoes with caramelized onions was excellent. Chicken Kebab - tasteless :( Pass on this. Kimchi Salad - ok Carrot Salad (morkovcha) - too much vinegar and too little flavor. Eggplant Salad - ok. This just a mix of roasted eggplants with the "carrot salad" + few roasted peppers. Baklava - perfect! Fresh, soft, how it should be! Fatir with Butter - good!

For our main dishes, we had the traditional Uzbek plov with lamb and the Farida ground beef roll with tomato. Everything was flavorful and cooked to perfection, but the traditional Uzbek plov was definitely our favorite. The lamb was incredibly tender, and the plov had amazing flavors. We really enjoyed our meal and our time here. Highly recommend!

We ordered the mini umka puffs (three beef and two cheese), and they were very oily and soggy on the bottom. The beef filling was mostly salt and pepper with no real depth of flavor, plus lots of fat and gristle. The cheburek was almost the exact same experience -- same filling, same sauce, and again not very tasty. The Uzbek plov was also very, very oily. The meat in that dish was better than the others, but overall it still lacked flavor. The steak manti was honestly close to inedible. It tasted bad, very fatty, and what initially seemed like juicy filling inside turned out to just be condensation water. The Kazan kebab was especially disappointing because the picture on their website looks incredible. In reality, it looked nothing like the photos -- the meat was basically boiled, extremely fatty, and pretty unpleasant. Thankfully, the tender beef short ribs were the best thing we ordered. The meat actually had flavor, and the potatoes were good. The lemonade was also very good. I went in expecting Uzbek food to be less heavily spiced than other cuisines, which is completely fine, but this was beyond that -- the food just felt low quality and poorly executed. For four people, with only one lemonade and no alcoholic drinks, the bill came to about $260, which felt insanely expensive for the quality we received. The atmosphere was nice, but the basement dining area was also extremely hot and uncomfortable. Overall, this place did not live up to the hype. Check the pictures for the dishes we ordered.

This was our first time in an Uzbek restaurant and eating Uzbekistan's cuisine. We were very curious. The menu was in Uzbek. Although there were some English on the bottom, we still didn't know which picture represented which item on the menu. The waiter was very helpful in telling us which picture was which food. We ordered one tandir samsa, one avocado salad, two lamb kebabs, one manti meat (which looks a lot like xiaolong bao), one glass of kombot berry juice, and one cup of black coffee. The food was delicious. We loved and finished everything. The beef in the tandir samsa smelled so good inside my mouth. The avocado salad was so fresh. The two lamb kebabs were my absolute favorite. They're not dry and burnt like the shish kebabs you get at fairs and festivals. They were very juicy and not burnt at all. I love the gaminess smell of the lambs. The manti meat looked a lot like a Chinese dumpling, but it's bigger and they have a mixture of beef and lamb inside. It was so delicious. It came with a white, thick dipping sauce that looks like yogurt. The kombot berry juice reminded me of a delicious plum juice that I had in Beijing. It was so good! The hot coffee was also delicious, similar to the morning coffees in Mexico. Overall, we loved the food and service here. We were so glad to have tried something new today!

There was a birthday party going on when I came which turned out to be a lot of fun. There was a live music and a lot of the patrons were dancing. While I didn't participate the festive atmosphere was fun to be around. They don't serve alcohol so I brought my own bottle of wine which was no problem. No corkage fee. For food we ordered veal cheek stew, a bulgar wheat pilaf, and a platter of spreads such as hummus, labneh, baba, and an eggplant spread that I can't remember the name. Food was fantastic. The veal was very tender and savory. The Mediterranean veggie spreads were amazing. Probably some of the best I've ever had. There are a lot of other things on the huge menu I want to try so I need to go back. Service was great too. I've heard that Russian restaurants are often not very friendly to non-Russian people but I didn't feel that to be the case here at all. I felt perfectly welcomed and service was friendly and prompt. It was a little pricey but I was so full when I left I immediately passed out on the couch when I got home. Overall it was a great experience and I'm looking forward to going back. From what I understand this restaurant is under new management and they're doing a great job.

They also have avocado bruschetta which was also really good. The avocado was nice and ripe. We also got samsa and it was really good. The dough was nice and flaky and crispy and on the inside the meat was really nice and juicy. It was my favorite, but it was definitely still good. For the main, we got a huge mixed grill platter that came with a bunch of different meats like chicken, shish kebab and lamb kebab and it was so good. The meat was really nice and juicy and flavorful and it was cooked really well and all of this also came with a side of chips which were a great pairing and a little bit of a different twist compared to regular french fries. The kompot was great it was nice and sweet and flavorful. The service was nice the waiters were really attentive. The ambiance was just a classic Russian/uzbek restaurant. Waiter was rude and never apologized for the delay and the raw burnt over priced food. Then there was a loud argument because the delivery guy was waiting about 30 minutes after being told that it'll be ready in 5 minutes. No respect for someone's time and job. I hate when people are trying to do their jobs and someone sabotages them. Apparently it's not the 1st time. And hungry people at home are also getting bad service and long wait. Overall, it put stress on everyone. Ruined many people's evening. I regret not leaving earlier and gone somewhere else. I feel like they were giving good service and respect to their countrymen in the restaurant, but not to people of other nationalities and races. Do they deliberately sabotage food and timing because they don't want us to return?! Are they deliberately delaying the delivery orders to get delivery guy to lose his job? It' seems to be happening a lot from the Uzbek halal restaurants. Too much of a coincidence. Will not recommend them to anyone. I wonder if the owner cares about losses in revenues or he's a bigot. Very disappointing.
