This gym rains purple (cues corny reference to Prince's Purple Rain)…read more Let me preface by saying I've only ever been to one gym years ago for just a few months (LA Fitness in Tukwila). For reasons that evade me, that didn't last long but I did enjoy the ability to get in a variety of workouts that included options for the sauna and showers. Press the [FF] button to 5-10 years later, I come across a gentleman named Florexis Velasco on IG, who also happened to be a nutritarian vegan natty body builder (BB). Vegan BB are out there if you just use the damn internet to run basic searches. What stuck out to me was that "Flex" was local AND Filipino (vegan, body builder, Filipino, local... hell yeah!)! And thus, it inspired me to follow him and his progress opening the new Lynnwood AF location. I eventually signed up there all thanks to this newfound inspiration to join a gym, once again. Since it is far, I only drove up weekends until the FOB grace period passed and now stick with mostly local locations in Seattle. But that location is very solid. Clean and good condition (give it a few months/years, lol), great equipment variety for all levels of fitness, spacious facility and parking. Awesome perks for this growing suburb. The staff that got me setup were kind & positive examples. Good data tests and the phone app looks nice. If you're into the group class, or heck just curious, go for them. They look promising and I've read good things about them. Besides, let's be honest, it's always motivating getting the camaraderie support to getting our asses in gear while having sweaty fun. Feedback: porous rubber mats in the shower portions for comfort. Walking on the cold bare floor is no bueno. I think they should've took tried-and-true lessons from other gyms (for example, LA fitness had rubber porous mats along the shower walkway). The handicap chair is too "sterile" looking (plain vinyl/plastic). Other older AF locations have wooden handicap shower seats for a better aesthetic). The space is a bit too cold for my preference, especially during Winter. I'd leave the fans on low when high tempo classes are off and traffic is low. Glad I met Flex online and eventually in person, too. Very excited for what the future holds at this gym. And for those asking, it's totally possible to be both vegan and fit AF.

I changed gyms from planet fitness to here, first question I asked if it is safe for me as a woman…read moreto be working out without the possibility of being harassed and their response was a yes. Obviously, which I shouldn't have. I took their word for it and not even a month in, there's always a man that waits in his truck for me and my boyfriend to get there and walks in the same time, does the same exact workouts and follows us and watches us the entire time and as we leave he makes sure to lock his truck 6 times in a row because us 20 years olds are such a threat. The cherry on top which made me never come back, is that there was a homeless man with his hands in his pants, recording me outside the windows which had no curtains when i was walking on the treadmills NEXT to my boyfriend (which is in the front of the building where all the windows show out to the street) We called not once but twice and didn't get anything and decided to end our membership. It's obviously not their fault but as a woman, I do not suggest this place as it's getting more and more busier in that area because of the train and the transit station:/

She said she could teach him to swim. On the very first lesson, she instructed him to get into the pool, where he could barely stand, and hold onto the side. I expected her to get in with him, right after, but she didn't, and continued to try to teach him from the side. Turns out she doesn't even get in the pool with kids!!!! I can understand this as a coach for people who already know how to swim, but it's ridiculous to think he would ever learn to swim without her in the pool helping him, especially since she knew he had had a bad experience before and was afraid. She could have at least told me her method of teaching BEFORE she took my money for the lesson. If you are thinking about using her for a kid who doesn't know how to swim, I HIGHLY recommend you use someone who understands kids, like Swim Guru. Coach Carol there is excellent!!

They would walk us places for adventures during the week and Yost Park and Pool were one of the places we got to adventure. I enjoyed it then and still enjoy it now over two decades later. The pool itself is well built to be child friendly. It is in a stout 'L' shape with 25 yards in shallow to mid-depth waters. Very nice when one is young. The water as I remember it is cold, not a bad thing just a shock to the system to those who were not accustomed to it. Above the pool there are tennis courts, picnic tables, and a playground. There is also a sloped grassy area around the pool, but not one to play sports on really. I most recently visited Yost Park on Wednesday the 8th of July 2020 with my mom. Steep trails can freak her out a bit. One of the nice things about the trail system at Yost is that railings are provided in areas where the trail is steeper. Helpful in keeping one's balance and providing support while going up or down a hill. Signage along the trails provide warnings to heed especially when it is rainy and the trails can be slick as well as historical information about the park. We saw a chipmunk, a variety of birds, squirrels, and different plants on our visit last Wednesday. If driving here, make sure to check under your car before you leave so as to not run over and kill any critters who might be under it. I found a gray squirrel exploring under my car when my mom and I went to leave. Happy to wait for the little critter to continue on its way before driving off so it can live. Fun place to bond with the wildlife!

The park itself is great for exercise as several of the trails have good incline so you can get a bit of a workout. I stopped short of giving 5 stars because I have encountered screaming groups of children several times who trample the vegetation off-trail and in the dry creek bed and it is very annoying that the adults supervising them allow this. One of these groups is a nature group/school for children. I am attaching a photo I took at Yost
