    Ice rink

It's a wonderful place for a fun little public skate, they also hold birthdays and what not. I had a great time.

This was an awesome place... for people who know how to actually play tennis or ice skate; in which I don't do either. I got 2 free tix so me and hubby decided to give ice skating a try. Well, more like me wanting to give it a try and dragging hubby to come along because I don't wanna look like an idiot by myself. So we get there and there's not much to look at as far as outward appearance. It's a huge parking lot, abundance of parking spots and when you get inside, you are facing the back of stairs where you have to slightly walk around to the right in order to see the ticket counter. You get your ticket and enter the double doors where you see the skates rental counter to the right and the actual rink to the left. There are benches around the skate rental counter where you can change shoes and then there are small lockers behind you to put belongings in there, (lockers are $0.25) otherwise you can leave your things under any open bench. Now I can only speak on MY OWN personal experience with ice skating, and my opinion is... I'm never going ice skating again. The rink itself is fine, but ice skating is just not for me. I could walk around in my skates perfectly fine on pavement outside the rink, but when I got on the actual ice... I think I saw my life flash before my eyes. It is just too ridiculously slippery. Hubby felt the same way as far as calling it quits at the rink! Like I said, the place is awesome if you know what you're doing. Otherwise you will just be wasting your money. Fortunately for me, my tix were free! I'm glad I could say that at least I tried it, but I can also say... I'm not trying it again lol!

Came here to ice skate with my gf and her brother. We did not know what to expect when we came here and possibly prepared for the worst. Since that it was located in Tacoma, we thought it would be ghetto or something. Anyways, our experience here at sprinker was great! The lady at the counter was really nice and didn't mind us not paying for the extra cents we did not carry in our pockets and let us through. The experience we had was smooth, we didn't encounter any problems throughout. We had a lot of fun and the staff was really helpful when you fell (I know because I did twice). Admission was only $6.02 per person! Which, btw is really cheap to go ice skating, with rental.

This is one of the best skateparks I have ever been to. They also have an ice-skating ring and an indoor tennis.

Tacoma Lawn Tennis Club - Pickle ball court is great

TLTC has been so great for our family. After 18 months on the waitlist, we paid our initiation fees…read moreand have never regretted it for a second. There are two permanent indoor courts and 6 beautiful outdoor courts. During the winter, 4 of the 6 outdoor courts are put under bubbles for 6 total winter courts. Membership is capped so that court availability is excellent (thus, the waitlist). The pool is very nice and surrounded by nice gas grills and tables. During the summer, everyone grills and enjoys the pool and the weather. There is a dedicated Pickleball Court, a playground, and a full gym, which currently includes a club Peleton membership and two Peleton bikes.. The people at TLTC are great. I've made great, lifelong friends since we joined in 2017. TLTC has USTA tennis teams at just about every level and frequently sends teams to Sectionals and, sometimes, Nationals. The club supports these team, paying for team away court fees to encourage participation. The club also has a rich history. The club was originally formed in 1890 and has been at the current location since 1903. The old photos as you walk in make you feel a part of something special. If you're looking for a club in the South Sound and are considering TLTC, don't hesitate. The waitlist can be long, but the wait is worth it!

The clubhouse at Tacoma Lawn is nice, and the locker rooms look great. But the rest of the club is…read morebelow average. It survives because it's the only higher end tennis facility in Southwest Washington. They have 4 indoor courts, 2 of which are in a bubble. The lighting is good, but you can find much nicer at equally priced clubs. So, it's really only worth the money in the summer when you can use their outdoor courts. By comparison, the club I joined also has a 4 court facility. It also has much lower initiation, but still maintains decent membership cap to ensure court availability. Tacoma Lawn has a gym and much better locker rooms, but the club I joined has nicer courts in every single possible aspect. It also has as nice an outdoor pool. So compared to tennis clubs in Bellevue or Seattle, Tacoma Lawn falls way short. For the price of initiation and dues at Tacoma Lawn, you could join Bellevue Club, and have significantly nicer everything (huge indoor pool, much nicer indoor courts, awesome basketball courts, a more modern gym, cooler member facilities). But since Tacoma Lawn only has to compete against Lakewood and Sprinker, it has a market for itself. Also, in my opinion, the people at Bellevue Club are nicer and more laid back. If I lived in Tacoma, I'd just play at Sprinker on weeknights, and use the money saved from dues to drive up to Boeing Tennis, or a better club in Bellevue.

Cancelling a scheduled lesson with less than a 24-hour notice, not because of an emergency, but because you're going to teach someone else leaves me feeling like Sprinker Tennis Center does not care about their clientele.
