There's…read moreone side of the restaurant that is the "fancy" side that you typically need a reservation for and end up paying a couple hundred dollars to dine at. This side faces the actual city. The other side is the bar side which I have never needed a reservation for and the side faces the Detroit river. The two sides have different menus and the bar side has like burgers and "normal" food that's actually not terribly expensive. Both sides are fun but I honestly like the bar side because you get to sit in comfortable couches and still have an amazing view. There's something called like Japanese bread that's pretty cheap and tastes fresh, and the ice cream is really good too. A few times we went we had something called a decompensated dessert which is a little bit odd, it's the ingredients that make up the dessert but spread out on a plate instead of formed into the actual desert. I included a picture of the decompensated cheesecake to explain. Honestly always so fun to visit here and the elevator ride up is cool too

They don't have very good signs directing you where to go in order to find the restaurant. Once you arrive the view from your seats is amazing. Food: The food was exceptional. We had the 3 course meal and upgraded to wagyu steak. The desert left a little to be desired but everything else was good. Service: The table service was excellent however, the bar service at the front was meh. Overall: The food was great but the desert was meh. The steak was worth the price but the rest was meh. I would go back for another special occasion. Again, the table service was great.

The corn beef has is FRESH and tender. The shasuka was spicy and savory and fabulous! I'm not leaving a review for every time I come here or else there'd be 100 reviews but if you're looking for a place to be a regular, Chicane is the place. There are specials almost daily and live music weekends. The menu updates seasonally so you're always being surprised by something new.

There was no question, I would see my friend. We had selected Chicane earlier, eager to try the new restaurant in a familiar setting, by the train tracks on Starkweather. This location was formerly Station 885, a restaurant my friend and I visited years earlier, when a toy train ran along tracks around the perimeter, delighting her young daughter. We arrived early, scoring a great table with a view of the large bar, lounge, and stage. The restaurant is glamorous, with gorgeous lighting and attractive furnishings. Musicians entertained the eager and appreciative audience. There are so few places that provide this level of entertainment and hospitality. I had already previewed the menu and was anticipating the meal ahead. The duck sounded amazing and is almost always my first choice. However, the short ribs were tempting, as were the scallops in a coconut curry broth. I went with my first instinct, the duck, paired with a French Onion soup. The medium-rare duck breast was perfectly prepared; I liked the sweet potato puree and slaw accompaniments. Incidentally, the portion was huge. My friend enjoyed her braised short rib, which was on the 2-course supper menu, available before 6pm. For dessert, I went with the chocolate cube. Unfortunately, I didn't even see the banana parfait, which was mentioned in several of the reviews here. Oh, well, I was content. The dessert had a bold, intense chocolate flavor, which paired well with the ice cream's more subtle flavors. I also appreciated the different textures on the plate. Service was fantastic: professional and helpful. Unfortunately, my car died during the cold, and TripleA was unable to help, given the number of people/vehicles in a similar situation. The restaurant staff went above and beyond to find someone (the Executive Chef, who was in the middle of service) to provide a jump; I am so grateful for the gracious hospitality.

From Hostess Kierra, to Christian G & Amanda who teamed up together; we were offered a perfect experience. Kierra decorated a quiet table, away from drafts (as requested) before seating us. Christian delighted us with the day's special culinary options. Amanda teased with wishes to be made. It was gentle and fun for my buddy. The house-made Grapefruit soda was declared "wonderful" by my companion who indulged in their signature Butternut Squash Bisque. He marveled at the delicately chopped apple in the middle. Delightful. Lobster Salad came out fresh and so beautifully plated. Large lobster pieces too! I thoroughly enjoyed Mini-Tenderloin Sliders along with a side of perfectly steamed broccoli. I regretted I could not order from their diverse wine menu this time. A red would have been the perfect accompaniment. We ordered two impeccably made, decaf Espresso coffees for dessert, but then... Amanda appeared with an unexpected, delicious, diet-busting celebratory treat. Thank you Capital Grille!
