This was a birthday surprise from my wife she kept telling me we weren't going anywhere nice but I still dressed to impress just in case she was lying, which she was. So this place has been on my radar for quite a long time and I finally got to go here. Let's just start with the fact that there was Valet as soon as you show up, it's $15 for Valet and they also let me know that you can't wear hats inside, I have a really nice Bowler hat but whatever, I didn't need it anyway. When you walk in the place just wows you with the magnificence of the environment you have just walked into, even the doors were fancy walking in. We had reservations and we were on the 2nd floor, as you are walking up there is so many photo Ops you can take on the way up it's crazy. The elegance of this place is amazing from the tables, the decor to even the cutlery. So we got seated and our waitress, her name was Dina, was on her game, if they had a star setting for waitresses she would be way above par, she was a 7 star waitress easily. For starters I ordered a Smoked Rosemary old Fashioned and you could taste the Smokey flavor from it, the Old Fashioned is made with an Elijah Craig Private Barrel which the owners from Sexy Steak go down to Kentucky and select some barrels just for the company then it is shipped to them and that is where the Old Fashioned comes into play. This drink was amazing. Then for an appetizer we had ordered the table side Caesar Salad and that is one of the coolest experiences I have had, the last time I had table side salad was Las Vegas but the taste is better than Vegas. The whole time making it Dina was explaining how it was made, what the ingredients were and just all the other locations that do this. Then we had the Focaccia Di Casa, which is the bread, it was amazing, so they bring out the olive oil, butter and vinaigrette but then the bread itself was buttery and bits of garlic and then the other side of the plate had bread had a marinara spread on it and it was delicious!!!! The bread was soft and the sides were crunchy. We also had the Roasted Broccolini which was Broccoli and it was roasted with crunchy tips and sautéed in a garlic and an Extra Virgin Olive Oil, it was VERY good. For a Main Course I had the 16oz Boneless Ribeye and I ordered it Rare and then cook it Blue Rare if you like that (not my style though), the waitresses explained that all steaks are dry aged for 55 days in Himalayan Pink Salt in a dry room. When the steak came out they tell you that the plate is heated up and really hot so not to touch it right away. It comes with a Roasted Head of Garlic and they give you a little fork to pull out the garlic cloves and spread them on your steak which was amazing and then it also came with a buttery spread which was amazing on the steak and then I had added jumbo shrimp with it which were juicy and full of flavor. Now, I have had steak everywhere from Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York City and even in St Thomas V.I. and I will say this, NO STEAK compares to this, the steak literally melted in your mouth the moment you chew it, even the fat on it was nice and crispy and full of flavor. My wife had the Chilean Sea Bass and it had a mushroom and asparagus risotto with it, it was delectable. I then ordered another drink which was the Sazerac, which was a really good drink but I also noticed they had a HUGE list of 2oz pours from every liquor you would want. Then we had a desert and we had the NY cheesecake which was sweet and soft and creamy. They also came out with an extra desert with a candle they lit for me to blow out for my birthday. They even have a guy that just comes and boxes up all the food for you. This place is Exquisite, I can only give this 5 stars but if I could give it more I would throw the Galaxy at this place. I couldn't find a better place to have a birthday dinner. Everything from the decor, the service and the food was amazing. I will say that they put a service fee of 20% already on the bill, also you can not wear hats in this place so don't wear your hat inside. This was a $400 dinner BUT it was worth Every Dollar. I'll admit I was a little iffy when my son chose Sexy Steak for his birthday. But from the moment we walked in the door, it could not have been more perfect. The service was outstanding perfection. The food was beautiful and delicious. And you've got to love a jungle-themed ceiling. The five of us ate family style so that we could try more things, and they were so kind about my son's friend's gluten allergy. Could not have been more wonderful! I'm giving three stars based on the customer service, the private dining space, and the additional charges. My first interaction was with Molly, the Private Dining Manager. She was pleasant and professional over the phone. Unfortunately, I never had the opportunity to meet her in person. While she was courteous, I found that email responses often took up to two days, even when I requested something as simple as viewing the private dining room before booking. As someone planning a once-in-a-lifetime celebration, timely communication and the opportunity to see the space beforehand were important to me. When planning my husband's 55th surprise birthday dinner, I had already received 25 RSVPs. My contract stated that the private dining room could accommodate 18-25 guests, so I believed it would be suitable for our event. The contract required a $500 deposit, which Molly requested within two days. I promptly submitted the deposit. I also shared my event flyer because the party colors were pink and green, colors I had noticed were reflected throughout the restaurant's décor. I finally had the opportunity to meet Tawny and view the private dining room about five days before the event. Upon arriving at the restaurant, I immediately noticed that the carpet outside the building appeared worn. As we walked upstairs to the second floor, I also observed worn carpeting and hardwood flooring, which did not create the upscale first impression I expected from a fine dining establishment. When I entered the private dining room, I was very disappointed. The room was much smaller than I anticipated and was not truly private. It was an open space adjacent to the main dining area, making it difficult to imagine our guests' enjoying conversations without competing with the surrounding restaurant noise. In my opinion, the room could not comfortably accommodate 20 guests, despite what was represented in the contract. There also was not enough space for the 6-foot treat table that Molly had assured me would fit. I immediately emailed Molly to express my concerns. I explained that the room was not the private dining experience I had expected and asked whether my party could be moved to the main dining room, where we could be seated in the pink and green booths. I also requested pink and green napkins and pink and green chairs to complement my event theme. Molly responded the same day. She informed me that moving the event to the main dining room was not possible and that the pink and green chairs could not be used because they were too large for the space. She did agree to provide pink and green napkins and offered to move a few plants to create additional room. Unfortunately, moving the plants did not resolve the issue. The room still could not comfortably seat 20 guests, and there still was no room for my treat table. Considering that my bill for 20 guests was approximately $3,850, plus an additional $50 to customize the menus with my event title and another $25 simply to bring in an outside cake (without the restaurant cutting or serving it), I believed the restaurant would make some effort to address my concerns or offer an adjustment in recognition that the private dining room did not meet the expectations presented during the booking process. Unfortunately, no accommodation or concession was offered. As a result, I made the difficult decision to cancel my event. While I was disappointed, I did not feel comfortable moving forward with a venue that did not meet the expectations established during the booking process. Went to a girl dinner with my friend Olivia and we loved sexy steak! The ambiance is absolutely stunning. We went full out on food, we got the oysters, saw someone get the meatballs and were so excited to try them, they didn't disappoint! We had reservations but there was an open door at the bar so we chose to sit there instead. The two bartenders were amazing!! It was incredible that they were so young and so wonderful at their jobs! What a magical dinner! My husband and I came to Sexy Steak to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We made reservations in advance, which I highly recommend. It was pretty busy for a Tuesday night. This was our first time at Sexy Steak. The building looks like a castle! Once you get inside, the attention to detail will blow you away! We were seated at a table in the center of the restaurant. Our server greeted us and acknowledged our anniversary, which is a huge plus for me since we put it in our reservation notes. We started off with cocktails. My husband's old fashion was smoked and so delicious. My margaritas was on fire and went down too easy. For appetizers, we started off with grilled oysters and waygu pastrami. Omg! So so good! Everything melts in your mouth. It was hard to pick what to get for dinner since everything looked and smelled so good. Since it's a steak house, that's always a safe choice. I was craving mushrooms so I went with the mushroom risotto and added filet steak tips. The risotto was sooo hot (temperature wise). The addition of filet tips was perfect. Our waitress Kylie was very attentive and walked us through the entire menu. We didn't have enough time for dessert since we were running off to a concert. Sexy Steak is hands down my favorite restaurant in metro Detroit. The atmosphere is always lively and upscale, especially on Saturday nights -- perfect for a date night or celebration. The food is consistently phenomenal. I've tried the Mignonette Oysters, Fritto Misto, Caesar Salad (served tableside), Pasta Carbone, Bone-In NY Strip, Filet Mignon, Truffle Parmesan Fries, Baked Mac & Cheese, and Sautéed Corn. Every single dish has been spot on. The steaks are perfectly cooked, the sides are rich and flavorful, and the Caesar Salad adds a fun tableside touch. And the housemade spicy ketchup that comes with the truffle parmesan fries is phenomenal -- I seriously wish they sold it by the bottle! Service is always great, too. Tommy was our server on our most recent visit, and he took it to another level -- super friendly, on point with timing, and just made the whole experience even better! They cut it for you so that you dont realize the cap is missing. It is drowning in butter so you dont realize what a terrible piece of meat it is. Very disappointed. Added the gratuity into a check for one when they saw I didn't eat the meal bc it was so bad. Loved my experience last night at Sexy Steak. The lobster scampi was a standout! the noodles were incredibly flavorful and perfectly done. Service was great, and the ambiance really set the tone for a nice night out. The espresso martini was a bit underwhelming it tasted a little weak and didn't feel house-crafted, more like a pre-made mix. I didn't get a chance to check out the upstairs area with live music and the bar, but I'd definitely come back to experience that next time. Overall, awesome menu and a spot I'd return to. First things first, the aesthetics are amazing. The outside of the building resembles a castle and emulates royalty. Once inside you can't help but be impressed by the floral wallpaper, neon signage, and contemporary art. There are two levels each with a bar, booths and dining tables. The service is exemplary. Waitstaff are very attentive and the table side Caesar salad preparation was quite the show The food is hot fresh and tasty. The steaks are top tier and the mushroom risotto is chefs kiss. The cocktails were visually appealing but nothing to write home about and seemed kind of on the weaker side. I came here to celebrate a special occasion with friends. We were seated upstairs near a large party that felt very casual, which was surprising given the restaurant's dress code. The ambience and décor were beautiful from the outside entrance to the inside details. The overall vibe was romantic, chic, and sophisticated, which really set the tone for the evening. For my meal, I ordered the Rib Eye Cap Steak which was good. I also appreciated our server's knowledge of the menu and their ability to explain gluten-free options clearly. My friends tried the lamb chops, truffle fries, and chicken. They enjoyed the flavors overall, though one mentioned that the chicken could have done without the prosciutto on top. I did have a side of carrots which were good but parts of it were not fully cooked, it felt like they rushed preparing it. While the food was decent, I felt it could have been seasoned a bit more, especially considering the high prices. For the cost, I prefer dishes that stand on their own without needing adjustments. The drinks were also underwhelming, much too heavy on citrus and lime juice with little strength, so I wouldn't order them again. Another downside was the service pacing. Even though we were simply enjoying conversation like the larger party nearby, our table was approached four times by different staff with, "Are you done?" This made us feel rushed, which is not the experience I expect at this price point. Overall, I'd give this restaurant a solid 3.5 stars. I did not like my cocktail as much and I tried my friends margarita it was not that good- it tasted watered down. I did like my steak and the mushroom risotto. Our reservation was at 9pm and we didn't get seated until about 9:40, but the manager came by, let us know they were running behind, apologized, and even brought us a drink while we waited -- which we really appreciated. Food review: * Ribeye - 10/10. Perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. * Pasta - 10/10. Rich, flavorful, and one of the standout dishes of the night. * Corn - 9/10. This place had been on our list for a while, but could never get a table. We tried making reservations online for an early dinner, but nothing was available. My fiancé called and ensured them we would stay for dinner but be out without an hour and a half. We secured a spot and were very excited to try out a new spot. Walking up to it, the restaurant itself is in a beautiful old building. We were greeted and led upstairs to our table. We ordered a belissima and an old fashioned to start along with shrimp cocktail and oysters vinaigrette to start. The drinks were amazing and the appetizers were fresh and devine. If this was the start of the meal, we were really looking forward to our mains. I ordered the petit filet and my fiancé ordered the roast beef as his main dish. We couldn't believe a place like this would put this in their menu so he thought it was to be absolutely delicious. He was right. The flavors were unimaginable for both dishes. We were wanting more, but we had an early dinner to stay out and have fun. We were finishing our meal and the manager came by to make sure all was at our top expectations.
