Sexy Steak absolutely delivered. From the moment we walked in, the place had a wow factor. Being inside the historic Grand Army of the Republic Building gave it so much character, and the soaring ceilings, chandeliers, and overall design made it feel upscale and memorable. The service was excellent all night. The staff was attentive, welcoming, and made us feel taken care of without being overbearing. Even the details stood out, including the stylish jackets the servers wore and the beautifully designed bathrooms. Food-wise, everything was on point. I had the ribeye cap with a lobster tail, and it was an incredible combination. Perfectly cooked, rich, and full of flavor. We also shared the crab cakes, mashed potatoes, and truffle parmesan fries, and every dish was delicious. The margarita was so good I had two, which probably tells you everything you need to know. If you're looking for a Detroit dinner spot that feels special and lives up to the hype, this is it. Great food, great atmosphere, and a night out worth remembering.

Another incredible meal! Amazing food and attentive service. We had so many good things! Started with cocktails. I had an extra dirty martini. We got table side Caesar salads for 6. Then we got the Smokey pastrami, shrimp cocktail, spicy shrimp diavolo and crab cakes for apps. For the main course I had a filet with scallops. My husband had the surf and turf. Others in our party got various other steaks and tomahawks. For sides we got mashed potatoes, truffle fries, broccolini and carbone spicy pasta. Everything was delicious! For dessert we got the chocolate tuxedo cake. Love this place!

Where do I start?? I have been wanting to come here since they opened. Our list of restaurants is enormous so it's hard to get to everything! Well this was worth the wait! We had reservations but there was an open door at the bar so we chose to sit there instead. The two bartenders were amazing!! It was incredible that they were so young and so wonderful at their jobs! We ordered a filet and the breaded chicken. Holy smokes!!!!!!!! Ridiculous!! I mean absolutely delicious! Both dishes were so good! The chicken came with a side of green beans but the steaks were ala carte. We ordered mashed potatoes and carrots with it. Definitely enough for two and so yummy!! I wish we had room for dessert but that wasn't happening. Hahah.

I really enjoyed myself here. The service and atmosphere was great. Very professional, I love that the staff kept the table clean and my cup full of water. Everything came out in a timely manner. I had the filet medium well from the flavor the taste and the texture was perfect (chefs kiss). The broccolini was seasoned perfectly. Everything had great seasoning nothing was bland nor over seasoned. The gratuity is automatically included no matter the party size. Lemon drop was made perfectly. The Caesar salad was amazing. I will come back whenever I have extra change to spare.

What a magical dinner! My husband and I came to Sexy Steak to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We made reservations in advance, which I highly recommend. It was pretty busy for a Tuesday night. This was our first time at Sexy Steak. The building looks like a castle! Once you get inside, the attention to detail will blow you away! We were seated at a table in the center of the restaurant. Our server greeted us and acknowledged our anniversary, which is a huge plus for me since we put it in our reservation notes. We started off with cocktails. My husband's old fashion was smoked and so delicious. My margaritas was on fire and went down too easy. For appetizers, we started off with grilled oysters and waygu pastrami. Omg! So so good! Everything melts in your mouth. It was hard to pick what to get for dinner since everything looked and smelled so good. Since it's a steak house, that's always a safe choice. I was craving mushrooms so I went with the mushroom risotto and added filet steak tips. The risotto was sooo hot (temperature wise). The addition of filet tips was perfect. Our waitress Kylie was very attentive and walked us through the entire menu. We didn't have enough time for dessert since we were running off to a concert. We did enjoy an espresso martini and a key lime pie martini which comes with coconut gelato before we left. Great anniversary dinner! 20% gratuity is added to your bill too. Definitely would go back for a special occasion.

LOVED THE FOOD, and the experience! service to the ambiance sheer perfection! we went for a birthday! and we had an amazing time! the only annoying part was we couldn't be seated until the whole party was here.. and had to hang out in the bar area.. we will be back! Food: 11/10 service : 8.8/10 ambiance: 10/10

Loved my experience last night at Sexy Steak. The lobster scampi was a standout! the noodles were incredibly flavorful and perfectly done. Service was great, and the ambiance really set the tone for a nice night out. The espresso martini was a bit underwhelming it tasted a little weak and didn't feel house-crafted, more like a pre-made mix. I didn't get a chance to check out the upstairs area with live music and the bar, but I'd definitely come back to experience that next time. Overall, awesome menu and a spot I'd return to. They offer coatcheck at the front as well.

We had a great dinner at Sexy Steak. They really pay attention to all the little details from their attire to the pepper grinders everything is thought out. The drinks are amazing, our steaks were so good. We love going to amazing steakhouses around the country and this one is definitely one of the best.

Sexy Steak is hands down my favorite restaurant in metro Detroit. The atmosphere is always lively and upscale, especially on Saturday nights -- perfect for a date night or celebration. The food is consistently phenomenal. I've tried the Mignonette Oysters, Fritto Misto, Caesar Salad (served tableside), Pasta Carbone, Bone-In NY Strip, Filet Mignon, Truffle Parmesan Fries, Baked Mac & Cheese, and Sautéed Corn. Every single dish has been spot on. The steaks are perfectly cooked, the sides are rich and flavorful, and the Caesar Salad adds a fun tableside touch. And the housemade spicy ketchup that comes with the truffle parmesan fries is phenomenal -- I seriously wish they sold it by the bottle! Service is always great, too. Tommy was our server on our most recent visit, and he took it to another level -- super friendly, on point with timing, and just made the whole experience even better! The vibe, food, and service make Sexy Steak the full package. It's lively, luxurious, and consistently excellent. Easily one of Detroit's best dining experiences. Can't wait to be back!

This restaurant is gorgeous. I love the green and pink theme. Our server Ryan was very attentive. I couldn't decide on the appetizer so we just went with some focaccia. I did not like my cocktail as much and I tried my friends margarita it was not that good- it tasted watered down. I did like my steak and the mushroom risotto. The knife had engraved "you're so sexy" -that's so iconic. Also the bathroom is gorgeous and a red and black color theme. I would definitely come back.

Had such a great night at Sexy Steak! Our reservation was at 9pm and we didn't get seated until about 9:40, but the manager came by, let us know they were running behind, apologized, and even brought us a drink while we waited -- which we really appreciated. Food review: * Ribeye - 10/10. Perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. * Pasta - 10/10. Rich, flavorful, and one of the standout dishes of the night. * Corn - 9/10. Really good. * Shrimp cocktail - 8.5/10. Fresh and tasty. * Mashed potatoes - 5/10. A little bland compared to the other dishes. * Creme brulee 10/10! The ambiance was great and our waiter was very helpful and attentive throughout the night. At the end of the meal the manager stopped by again to apologize for the wait and even comped us another round of drinks, which was a very nice touch. Also -- the restroom was beautifully designed and decorated. Definitely photo-worthy! Thank you to the amazing staff at Sexy Steak for a fun night. We had a great time and will definitely be back.

This is an excellent special occasion restaurants. I went for a friend's birthday celebration. Valet parking is available. Reservations are highly recommended. First things first, the aesthetics are amazing. The outside of the building resembles a castle and emulates royalty. Once inside you can't help but be impressed by the floral wallpaper, neon signage, and contemporary art. There are two levels each with a bar, booths and dining tables. The service is exemplary. Waitstaff are very attentive and the table side Caesar salad preparation was quite the show The food is hot fresh and tasty. The steaks are top tier and the mushroom risotto is chefs kiss. The cocktails were visually appealing but nothing to write home about and seemed kind of on the weaker side. This would've been a five star experience except that I thought it was very overpriced compared to other similar places. And they don't offer complimentary desserts for birthdays which I've found to be a standard offering at most other high end places.

Exceeded expectations everything was delicious and service was great. We had grilled oysters, spicy shrimp, risotto, and rib eye. We didn't go for the ambiance but it was comfortable. Parking is close but it's not free and valet was available. I would (will) definitely go again!

There was a 2 top table at the back that we were seated at - we could have sat at the bar also - and it was a great spot. We ordered the tasting menu and WOW, every course was amazing. I'll post pics because the presentation was gorgeous for each item. They have a small cocktail and wine and beer selection, but that was fine. My son got their Shrub Mocktail and I got the Shrub with Sake. Both were delicious and so interesting. I can't pick a favorite item because they were all so good, but the Torched Mackerel and Poached Bosc Pear were tied for #1, followed by the Salmon, Oysters and the crazy good Blood Orange dessert. The shrimp toast was just ok for me, not bad, just not as good as everything else. Additionally the service was outstanding. For a tiny place they did everything right. They explained each course, brought out fresh utensils for every course - YEA! - and made sure we had good pacing. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly and enhanced our meal. I really want to come back and try the oysters and some of the tinned items. I'm so excited I found Mink and will be back for sure.

As others have mentioned, seating is somewhat limited, but that only adds to the excellent service and intimate experience. I wish I remembered the names of our server and the manager because they were incredibly kind, accommodating, and helpful throughout the evening. One example of the thoughtful service: I was torn between two white wines, and since my partner ordered one of them, our server offered to bring a small sample of the other so I could compare and choose what I liked best. We also mentioned that we had never tried caviar before but didn't want to commit to a larger portion. They suggested a "bump" for $5 each, walked us through how to enjoy it properly (on the hand, letting it warm slightly), and made the experience feel fun and approachable. We were seated at the bar, which gave us the opportunity to chat more with the server and manager and watch the team prepare dishes for other tables. It genuinely felt like sitting at the chef's table. We both opted for the tasting menu, which changes from time to time, and we were very happy with the selection. We also added the lobster roll, and our server thoughtfully timed it so we could enjoy it alongside the warmer course. The meal began with two different oysters, one topped with caviar, giving us another chance to enjoy it. Next was the shrimp cocktail, which included wasabi--but not in an overpowering way. The flavor was present yet balanced, allowing everything else to shine. The escargot course was especially creative and delicious, paired with basil oil, pepper jelly, and hints of balsamic. While it might sound unusual, the flavors blended beautifully. I expected the pepper jelly to dominate, but it was surprisingly subtle. Next was the potato pavé served with a scallop. The textures were remarkably similar, and the scallop was cooked perfectly. The lobster roll was very good, though I personally found the bread a bit denser than I prefer--I usually like a more buttery, Texas-toast style--but my partner loved it. The turbot followed, accompanied by a chestnut beurre blanc that was incredibly silky and flavorful. It paired wonderfully with the king trumpet mushrooms, black truffle and the fish. The final tasting course was the petit fours: three small cakes--matcha, red velvet, and ginger molasses. They were slightly dense, but still a nice way to end the meal. We also added the house-made basil ice cream (because the basil oil earlier was so good), and that was an excellent decision. Although my birthday had been a few months earlier, once the staff heard we were using a birthday gift card, they surprised me with vanilla ice cream, sprinkles, and a candle--such a thoughtful and unexpected touch. They also treated us to a small glass of dessert wine. By the end of the night, we knew we had found our new favorite place to celebrate. The overall experience is absolutely worth the price point, and I only wish more places were like Mink. We can't wait to return.

My first impression: Noisy! Lots of hard surfaces. Difficult to hear the hostess, server and my wife. The tables were appropriately spaced for diners and servers to work with no bump & grind. We started by sharing a dozen oysters and the pear/walnuts salad. The oysters were a bit small-ish; but otherwise, excellent. Server took a drink order from my wife, but skipped me. Eh? I flagged down another server to order a Pino. It took a surprisingly long time to arrive. On the plus side, I was offered a taste to insure it was satisfactory - it was. The pear salad w/walnuts was excellent. The pears were sliced paper-thin. One of the joys of eating a properly ripened pear is the juicy explosion and thinly sliced pears defeat the juicy explosion. If the pears were fully ripe, perhaps cube them? Weirdly; the two sides (mushrooms, potatoes) were served before the entrees. The server noticed, seemed surprised and withdrew the sides, returning with our entrees (lamb shoulder, steak). Then the side returned. Both entrees were warm-ish and the sides were hot. The 14-day, dry-aged steak was ordered medium-rare and was seasoned and prepared as ordered. Again; warm-ish, not hot. I expected better beefy flavor for a dry-aged steak. One end was a bit chewy. Tenderness improved as I got to the other end of the steak. I ordered it with horseradish. I will admit to being a weirdo who loves spicy horseradish (and wasabi) that will clean the sinuses - this was "Ohio-spice'd" horseradish ... not creamy, but less spicy than Arby's Horsey sauce. The mushroom and the potato sides were served hot from the kitchen. Both were excellent, no complaints. The presentation of the steak needs improvement. It was a properly prepared, lonely lump of brown, served on a white plate with cracked ceramic glaze. The lamb shoulder was the better entree. For some reason, my wife was expecting Middle Eastern seasoning. The menu did not mention Middle Eastern seasoning and she did not ask, so that's on her, not the kitchen. I thought it was excellent. Gripe: After the entrees arrived, our server did not return to ask if the entrees were satisfactory. She did return later to ask if we wanted a second round of drinks. We did ... We were offered dessert and ordered, but never asked if we wanted coffee or an after dinner drink. Both desserts were excellent. Will we return? Probably ... not. With tip; dinner for two was $286. At this price point I expect better: Less noise, better beef and flawless service.

They were too cheesy in my opinion. I was looking forward to getting some sushi. But was informed they may be doing away with the sushi. The drinks were excellent The bartender even had an extra punch-- a little went a long way. The ambience at this location is nice cause you're looking out to the water from the Detroit Riverfront. There is parking across from the entrance where you can get exchanged for a validated ticket, this would be nice to know when making reservations. There are only select garages that they will validate. I enjoyed my birthday dinner. I was a good meal.

The fried catfish, yams, greens, fried chicken, dark maple hot wings and anything that hit the table was exceptionally tasty. With classic tastes like grandma used to make, but with that extra touch of love. Inside the dining area was super clean and upbeat. Gorgeous artwork and a speakeasy type vibe. Met chef Aisha and she was wonderfully sweet. So were Miss Lisa and Brandy. Huge shout out to brandy as she was the mixologist. That Mr Bowie was the best!

OMG- I lived in the metro- Detroit area for 15 years and never turned on this street ever. I wanted…read moreto try a restaurant that I had not been to and saw this one on FB and decided to do something different. I have never been so disappointed in a restaurant before. First, the restaurant is up two flights of steps and there is no elevator. I injured my knee and walked up the stairs. Second, when I was seated and shown the menu, I was shocked at the very limited options. They only offer white- meat chicken, no rice or plain sides. I was going to try the greens but the server said they put vinegar on them which I don't care for. The Brussels sprouts with corn is a hard pass. I had no other choice but ordered something that I would never put together as a meal: fried catfish, sweet potatoes and Brussels sprouts with corn. The fish was fried hard and needed seasoning and the sprouts were forgettable. They brought out hot sauce on the side assuming all people want hot/ spicy food. I wanted tartar sauce and they didn't have a traditional sauce- they had a " Cajun- style sauce." My friend had a crab cake for $25. When I called about parking, the hostess mentioned the cash lot behind the restaurant and.a parking structure across the street. She didn't mention that it was extremely expensive, I paid $24.49 for 1 hour and 6 minutes in the structure. Oh, I almost forgot that they added a 20% gratuity automatically for a party of 2! So, overall, my catfish dinner, 1 crab cake appetizer, and $2 up charge for the Brussels brought my bill to $74. Plus, the $24.49 for parking was a $100 night with no liquor only to have to leave and go eat elsewhere as what I wasted money on left me hungry and unsatisfied for sure.

From the outside, the building doesn't exactly scream "5-star seafood" -- I think it may have been an old Pizza Hut -- but don't let that fool you. Inside, it's cute, a little kitschy, and most importantly, clean!! There wasn't any type of fishy smell at all! The husband-and-wife owners are absolutely working their tails off, and it shows. The service was warm, attentive, and truly top-notch. You can feel how much pride they take in what they do. We each ordered crab boils and didn't leave a single thing in the bag -- every bite was incredible! Some of the most delicious seafood I've ever had. I almost hesitate to share this hidden gem because I selfishly want it all to myself, but they deserve every bit of recognition. We can't wait to go back and are definitely adding this spot into our regular restaurant rotation!

Let me say, this was such a fun experience, great company, great food and great service. Cibo Detroit has such an amazing vibe, well lit, bringing in a peaceful but fun energy and great art decor, making it feel very upscale. The food matched the ambience, everything was delicious. The brussel sprouts had the perfect amount of char, the steak was very tender. This is definitely a place we'd go back to at some point!

We came around 5pm so it was still during their new happy hour (4-6, M-F) we ordered some cocktails which were tasty. Cocktails were all $12 during happy hour. We also got two apps from the HH menu, and one app from the regular menu. The pizza tasted like it came from a pizza oven which was great, the palomino dip was rich with flavor, and the shrimp had a great flavor to them. For entrees we got the salmon, meatball, and crab orchettie, probably spelled wrong lol all had good flavor. The polenta with the meat ball was a bit flavorless but over all good. When our bill came we noticed there was 15% gratuity already added and a 5% "service fee" also noticed the HH prices weren't applied. Our waitress did fix it quickly, which was appreciated. Overall a good dinner and will be back to try the brunch.
