I'm 80 years old, and on the day of my appointment for my 6 month cleaning, her office called to say she would no longer wanted me as a patient because I would not concent to tooth scaling and root planing. Because my teeth were not bleeding and the expense was prohibitive I told her I just wanted my teeth cleaned as usual. She said she would not do that she did not want me as a patient and that her dad no longer worked in the office anymore. When the day of my appointment came, the staff were really nice. I had my X-rays done and explained everything I wanted, including a filling and possible future procedures. After that, I was told to sit and wait to be called. I was then taken to an office where someone informed me that they do not work with my type of insurance. I asked why, considering I had already scanned and submitted my insurance information before coming in. She told me I would still have to pay $150 for the visit. I asked what exactly they had done for me to justify that amount, especially since this seemed like their negligence. She replied that it was for the scan. I asked for a copy of the scanned documents, but they could not provide them. I sat there feeling very frustrated. I explained to the woman that I only had $50 on me at the time, and I paid that amount even though I honestly felt robbed. Now they keep sending me payment reminders for the remaining $100, despite the fact that they never actually worked on me. I truly feel these people are not acting professionally
