First time to this small market owned by an Afghan family who has lived in the area for many years . Pretty good options for a small market including Halal chicken from an Amish farm in the freezer. We picked up some fresh veggies, rice vinegar for their small Asian section, Labni cheese, heavy cream and ordered from their food truck. The food was great and good prices. Excellent place to find interesting and tasty food to try from other cultures. Stellar service and welcoming atmosphere of good energy every time you walk through the door. Fresh vegetables and fruit every time I've been there, refill water station available, snacks, candy, great selection of teas, spices, dates, nuts etc and the staff is polite, friendly and helpful. Tiny market, big selection. Don't let the minimal environment fool you. If you're looking for East Asian and Near Eastern groceries, this is the place to go. I'm not sure who their source is, but I find their stone fruits to be really excellent. We can't seem to stop eating the white peaches this past season. I don't think you can go wrong with some of the produce offered. It's extremely helpful for my wife and I to procure things we normally would get in San Jose. It saves us the trip just for black vinegar or chili crisp for dumplings, or finding a proper Thai curry paste. We get our basmati rice from here too now. We're also part of the Greek church, so finding groceries for Mediterranean goods makes it easy. We really enjoy the accessibility of Middle Eastern breads, grains, spices, and...desserts as we found the rose ice cream to be stellar. I'm also glad I don't have to struggle to find Chinese eggplants! I have yet to try the hot food in the chafing dishes, but it looks promising. read more

Recently was advised by a fellow Persian food enthusiast to check out this place for its ingredients. Formerly I'd been sending all the way to L.A. for spices, et cetera. Now close to home, I'm finding everything I need for my culinary delights! This place is clean, well-lit, and has the most friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff. They even have Persian style ice cream! The produce is very fresh (including those sweet little Persian cucumbers) and the conveniently frozen halal meat is beautifully packaged and butchered. Speaking of frozen, there is a fine selection of ready made Middle Eastern meals in the freezer compartment as well. Persian tea selection is as good as I recall from when I spent 2 years in Iran and fell in love with real Ceylon tea. The real deal is here, folks. Just remember you park in the back, by driving between the two little buildings. Plenty of room back there and you'll be delighted by the Kebab Express wagon where you can buy a hot meal to go. Now they are having a FABULOUS Persian cook Come Sats 10-1130 or 1230pm for takeout food. I cannot remember the names of all the foods We ate. However each dish better than the next!! We had 2 eggplant dishes, 2 different meat dishes and Persian rice with tahdig(sp) the crispy bottom to die for. I bought some incredible Persian flat bread and baklava for dessert! Wow! We've found a hidden gem in this little market. Sal is always friendly and helpful. The plethora of different ethnic foods has us exploring different countries cuisines. The array of produce is colorful and healthy. We tried their Halal chicken and were surprised at how flavorful it is....our new place for chicken!! Produce, teas, desserts, sauces, etc a chef's delight! Family owned and a local mom and pop----plenty of parking in the back. read more

I visited for the first time just a couple days ago. The owners are super nice and quite enthusiastic about receiving feedback from their customers. If there is something you would like to see them carry that they don't currently have, just ask. The store is clean and there is enough parking around back behind the building. They carry so much more than just produce. It's more of a combination of a convenience, international and produce market. I love that they carry many of the international items I have not been able to find without visiting a specialty market. They also carry some basic convenience products so its a one stop shop - for example bread or milk. They carry organic produce and it looks quite fresh. Again they carry produce you may not find in your local generic grocery store. I found the prices to be quite reasonable as well. I love that this convenient little shop is close to home. Next time I need something that is not carried in Safeway, Androncios, etc, I will check here and save the trip to the international market in Seaside. I'll definitely be picking up reasonably priced fresh produce here as well. Always nice to support our local small businesses! read more

The store was super clean, the produce looked great (but my mom said the produce seemed dirtier than at the grocery store. No worries just wash the dirt off!), the prices were very reasonable, the owner was really nice and friendly, and they had all kinds of international products you won't find elsewhere in PG. This is a great new option for getting high quality, fresh produce at very good prices. Because the shop foregoes the plastic boxes, mesh bags, and other packaging that Trader Joe's (for instance) uses to protect its produce, you can hand pick exactly the best artichokes, pluots, peppers, etc. in just the quantity you need. As a bonus, the store offers Middle Eastern and Asian specialty packaged goods and fresh produce (mangos, bok choy, etc.) as well as freshly prepared hummus and hot samosas. A not-so-hidden gem, across from Trader Joe's in Pacific Grove. They carry Near, Mid, and Far Eastern, as well as Hispanic and European specialty products. They also have both regular and specialty produce, as well as halal meats, including some cuts difficult to find elsewhere. If you're fortunate enough to visit on a Saturday, they have home made Persian food in the hot trays. They also carry some home made Afghan chutneys and turshi (pickled veggies). And, of course, specialty sweets from all over. Best place to buy naan, pita, lavash breads, as well as specialty spices. It's family owned and operated by caring, kind folks, who remember your name. Very Disappointing. The store was clean and the owner was nice enough, but the fruit was disappointing. It was just like the fruit across the street at Safeway, it looked fine on the outside, but the taste was bland, and lacked sweetness, because they picked it too soon. This is my go to market in the community! Products and produce are good, easy parking, friendly owners. Ned and Sal always make me feel welcome and I love supporting family businesses. This store is clean and professionally run but still manage to have a laid back feel. I probably stop in a time or two a week just to grab a couple of tomatoes or something I need to cook with knowing it will be easy to get in and out and that they will likely have what I need. I took a peek at this over the holidays when the other stores looked over run and I'm so glad I did, I needed celery and garlic and wow! I was able to get bread, bouillon, tea, saffron. Super clean, plenty of parking in the back and the staff was eager to add anything we might want in the future. They specialize in ethic food and fresh local produce and the prices were amazingly. Very clean store, friendly staff and some interesting spices, flat bread, etc. Unfortunately, some produce looked like it was ready for compost. Flat bread was also a bit old and moldy, very disappointing. Still, their tomatoes, dill, and herbs looked fresh.
