    Outside our cabin
    Dawn S.

We stayed in the Adirondack cabin for 2 nights earlier this week. It was our first time in this area and our first time staying at a campground. I was apprehensive to say the least. I was blown away! The view outside our cabin was breathtaking . The cabin itself also was amazing. Absolutely beautiful !! We loved the campgrounds and we got to see Elk in Elk County! I was so impressed how clean everything was and how nice the owners were. We will definitely come back next year. Thank you for all your hospitality !

We reached out to the 24 hour number we were provided and were advised that nobody was onsite but to ask the people to move. We ended up on a FaceTime call with the manager who after a while told us to move to a different site that was severely un level and muddy. When we couldn't make that site work because it was only 30 amp and too small for our fifth wheel. We were told to move to yet a different site and we would figure it out in the morning. The next morning we were texted and told that we needed to move back to the original site. My wife walked over and all of the items were still in our site. The campground instructed us to tell the people to move. All though that shouldn't be our responsibility to do we did. The people said they would but instead left. After all of the issues we divided to leave. Nobody seemed to care at this point so we moved to a different campground. It was quite an experience. I would absolutely not recommend this place which is a shame because a year ago we had a great experience here. We were informed that the owners were a corporation and it truly shows. Campers paradise is an ironic name as there is nothing paradise about this place.

Waited but no response, no call, no Email. Called back 48 hours before our reservation and finally got a person who said they'd "leave a note for the woman who handles that." Got a cancelation email 24 hours before the reservation with explination of the non-refund. Called to see if we could explain how things went to see if they'd make it right. Started out very calm and professional, but after being told we didn't make that call to cancel (even after offering to shown them the phone records,) we were told "I'm not going to argue with you about this, call KOA if you want!" I did call KOA to report them for not upholding the KOA refund policy by the way. In the end they decided that their incompetent communications were justification to abuse the KOA refund policy and keep our deposit. If this is how they treat their guests I'm really glad we canceled even if they did keep our deposit. We love KOAs, but not this one.

The fire tower is an absolute must, and although there are trails to take to reach the fire tower, I love the drive through the forest, the best. Since many are visiting the fire tower along with Seneca point I always try and visit earlier in the mornings when there's not a lot of people. I also am a fan of the lodging in the area. The cabins (River & McBeth) are very affordable & comfortable and sometimes we even stay nearby in Brookville. A lot to book up fast but they do have availability from time to time so even if its last minute, still check their websites. The sawmill is so fun to shop at as well as Parkers Indian trading Post. We love Cook Forest & will always return!!

If you're the hiking type, there are 52 miles of trails to explore. If you're a birder, you'll definitely want to grab your binoculars and check out different parts of the park, as numerous birds inhabit the forest. If you prefer spending a day on the water, you can go swimming in the Clarion River, as well as rent kayaks, canoes, and river tubes. It's not hard to find a good spot to fish, and in the winter you can also enjoy cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, sledding, and ice-skating. In my case, Cook Forest is just a couple of hours away - a day trip isn't out of the question. Still, it's so much nicer to spend an entire weekend in this beautiful place. Fortunately, that's pretty easy to do! Campgrounds and log cabins alike are available within the park. The cabins are very popular, but have no fear: there are hotels within driving distance of the park as well. Do keep in mind that cell service is not guaranteed here; this is totally OK in my book, but it does mean that having a rough idea of where you'll be driving is essential. Grab a map or write down some directions from Google Maps - then go forth and enjoy your time in this beautiful place!

The campgrounds I had been to before here did not have nice wooded spots, you were just out in the open. Oil Creek is nothing like those! The roads to get to this location are very rural, and you travel back into the woods. I was so happy pulling in here and so excited to finally camp in a wooded area. We checked in at the office and from the start all the staff were so nice and helpful! Our site was a pull through site so it was pretty humongous for a little tent. Who wouldn't appreciate that though? All the sites were very level and almost all the tent sites were surrounded by trees. I was very happy for our site! There are several bathrooms that have the step to flush toilets, and a shower house. They were clean for a Campground, not the best, however I will take that for the besides sites and area any day! Also on the Campground is a fun disc golf course. It is very short, but it is a fun activity! They also have a fishing pond, pool, playgrounds and a game room. THE BEST PART THOUGH, are the ALPACAS! Who doesn't love their sweet, soft, cute faces?! I was so happy to camp with some alpacas!! I can only imagine how excited a kid would be lol! I love this Campground! I can't wait to come back here and enjoy every bit of this amazing place!
