We bought buckets of blue and white flowers with various green fillers. The drive to the farm was picturesque and part of memorable experience. Deena had everything waiting for us when we arrived. The flowers were so fresh. Not one of the centerpieces we created wilted in a four-day wedding trip. The centerpieces were the highlight of the wedding and we'll never forget the experience. I even recently purchased seeds for two of our favorite flower varieties. Hoping to grow them in the yard. Thank you, Deena, for your help and service!

As the months went on, I got nervous because the weather was cooler than normal, and the flowers were growing slowly. So I added 400 stems of bulk flowers to my order for insurance. Deena was awesome. She was super willing with great information. I LOVE her event software that tracts your proposal, order, payments, etc. We were always in the know. As the wedding got closer, she kept in close contact, making sure we were all on the same page. We had the bulk flowers delivered the day before so that we could prepare the table arrangements. We picked up the other arrangements the day of the wedding to make sure they were super fresh. In the meantime, my flowers kicked in and were amazing. It was a wildflower-themed wedding. We kept our flowers in pots, and didn't have to worry about them wilting, etc., while we kept Sweet Roots Farm flowers cool to bring out at the last minute. The flowers stole the show. It was a huge success. The house was not landscaped. There was a lot of brown.....until all of the flowers showed up. It was beautiful! The bouquets, boutonnieres, and other arrangements were perfect! Thank you Deena for a beautiful display!!!

We worked with Molly of Dinner Bell Farm for our July, 2016 wedding and could not have been…read morehappier! She had been recommended to us by a friend who had also worked with her for her wedding. Pros: -For our ceremony in the redwoods we didn't need any flowers to make the place beautiful, but we did ask for a chuppah (for the groom's Jewish culture) adorned with batik cloth and jasmine flowers (for the bride's Indonesian culture). The chuppah was made out of beautiful wood, and even though the specific species of Jasmine flowers used in Indonesian weddings was not available, Molly came through with a local flower that looked almost the same. -We both love succulents and wanted to have them be the floral look of our wedding and reception. The bouquets, corsages, and bride's hairpiece were creatively made out of succulents and all looked gorgeous -For the reception, we wanted the tables to have potted succulent arrangements as centerpieces. Molly delivered, big time! Each succulent display was different and beautiful in its own way. -The mother of the groom was very involved in the preparation of the centerpieces, acquiring and hand-painting seventeen pots for the arrangements. She and Molly worked VERY well together in making this happen. -Great value compared to some of the other florists we considered Cons: -None All in all we were very satisfied with Molly and recommend her highly! Review from my mother in law : Working with Molly was a total joy. I live across the country from her, and we communicated by phone, text or email in regards to the flowers for my son and daughter-in-law's wedding. She ended up custom-growing plants for specific containers that I mailed to her. Those centerpieces, in addition to the bridal bouquets and a custom-designed outdoor chuppah ended up making a lasting visual statement! She is a superb listener and a beautiful artist. As an artist myself, I can totally endorse Molly to get the job done in a memorable way!

Molly is incredibly easy to work with and her prices are very reasonable. I had a hard time articulating what I wanted but was able to share some concepts with Molly and she worked to bring them to life. I loved all the arrangements she made for us and we received numerous compliments on how beautiful the flowers were. If you are getting married in the Auburn/Grass Valley/Tahoe area I highly recommend Dinner Bell Farm as your flower vendor.

Jaw dropping bouquets at wholesale prices. And I've yet to see arrangements more beautiful anywhere…read moreelse. LOCATION & DECOR: Located right in the heart of downtown Grass Valley, on main Street at one of the busiest intersections in town. A hop skip and a jump from the main strip. Always full of the most beautiful flowers, bright natural light, and industrial types of decor like brick and wood panels. FLOWERS: -They pick their flowers up mostly from a San Francisco market, but all flowers are local and beautifully maintained. They've got roses of every color, lilies and gardenias and an assortment of things I didn't even know were considered flowers. Flowers that look like they were transported from an alien planet. An avatar world. PRICE: $$ -I usually get a bouquet around $40 to $50 wrapped in craft paper with a cute bow tie and they are gorgeous! If I had seen these bouquets in the window, I would think that that was an $80 to $100 bouquet. SWAG/AMENITIES: -Pre-orders -Custom arrangements -Craft wrapping paper -Vases -Color themes -Quick response STAFF & EXPERIENCE: I usually call ahead and it's Mark who answers. Kind, friendly and professional demeanor. I don't make the mistake of selecting the flowers myself. I choose a color theme and the amount I want to spend and allow for magic to happen. It's not just Mark who makes the bouquets because I've seen others working on mine before. And when I arrive to pick up the bouquets, they are absolutely panty dropping! At this point I have purchased flowers for three different women and each of them had said that the bouquets were the most beautiful they had ever seen! And as I look around at other bouquets, I would have to more than agree. And since I'm known for making my own classic arrangements and building ceremonial altars, I can't just show up with any old bouquet. These are fitting for a Taurus Moon/Libra Sun/Libra Venus who's all about beauty. They make the kind of arrangements that make a dozen roses alone look like child's play. I don't pick up flowers anywhere else because why would I?

Two Hardware Stores, in our area-- And a Few Thoughts:…read more We're fortunate to have two hardware stores in our area -- convenience matters, and I genuinely try to keep my spending local. The staff is consistently helpful and knowledgeable, and that counts for a lot. Supporting local businesses means keeping our neighbors employed, and I don't take that lightly. But let's talk about the elephant in the room: pricing. I've done the comparisons. Many items here run 2x what you'd pay online -- and increasingly, I'm seeing things priced at 3x the online equivalent. I understand local businesses can't always match the big online retailers, but markups at that level make it genuinely hard to justify shopping here regularly, even when I want to. For my fellow seniors: there's a 10% discount available -- but only one day a week. Here's the thing: we're seniors every single day. To their credit, the other hardware store in our area offers no senior discount at all -- so this place is at least a step ahead there. But a modest everyday discount, even at a lower percentage, would go a long way toward building loyalty with a customer base that shops consistently and values local relationships. It would be worth exploring. I'm not here to organize a boycott -- that's not my style. But I will say this: if the pricing gap keeps widening, more and more of us are drifting to online options, not out of preference, but out of necessity. It's worth noting that seniors are a very different customer base than they were 5 or 10 years ago -- nearly everyone I know has learned to shop online, or has someone who does it for them. For those of us on fixed incomes, finding a better price isn't a luxury, it's a necessity. The goodwill is there. The staff is great. Meet us halfway on the value, and this place could really thrive.
