I used to love this place, but I have not been impressed with it since they changed owners. That was pre-pandemic. First of all my dog would get terrified every time I left him there. He even peed on the desk twice! But ok, I thought that was just my dog. Then I saw the following: 1. My dog cowering in terror because a big dog was barking all night (I came to pick him up in the morning); 2. owner pulling him along on a leash (when I asked about this she replied "oh it's only because he needed to go out, we don't usually pull on him"); dog hugely thirsty every time he came home, as if they hadn't given him any water. That's just what I saw, who knows what really goes on... All I can say is, people, listen to your dogs. If they are going in terrified, it's probably for a good reason. I am just sorry that I waited so long to take him to a different place. read more

We have been boarding our dogs at Forever Puppy for a few years now (from short weekend stays to 10+ days boarding annually for our overseas vacation). It's safe to say that we are very happy with our choice! When we first moved to OC, I specifically searched for a local/family owned facility that won't board too many dogs at once. Our family has moved all over the country and my smart older dog has experienced all sorts of boarding facilities in the past. If she doesn't like a place, she WILL let me know. Every time we drop the dogs at Forever Puppy, they can't wait to jump over the gate and go to "their room" at the back. That tells me that they like this place. :) Personally, I don't need a boarding facility to be too fancy or high tech. I just need it to be clean, has loving/caring staff, at a safe/convenient location and reasonably priced. Forever puppy checks all my boxes. Lyn and her staff know the dogs by names. They are very accommodating with pickup/drop off schedule. They are also very responsible on reminding the vaccine updates. I usually check on the dogs via email when I'm on longer or overseas trips. Lyn always responds very promptly and provides me dog updates in details. People here truly care about the dogs' wellbeing and I feel very confident and comfortable to leave my fur babies with them. Here are some examples: Example#1: Due to my older dog's past experience of being attacked at a dog park, she's very nervous around dogs that are bigger than her. So I usually opt out for the day camp when boarding her. After observing and learning about my dog's mellow personality, one time Lyn called me during my dog's stay and suggested me to allow her to hang out with another sweet pup Hank, a black lab. My baby had a great time and made a new friend during that stay. In case you are wondering, I wasn't charged for the day camp that time. Lyn said she just wanted my poor baby to enjoy some play time too. Example#2: Later I adopted my younger dog, which has a complete different personality from my older one. This little one is needy, loud, and annoyingly active, lol! Since she had severe separation anxiety when she was a puppy, I would board her in the same suite with my older one. However, Lyn had to separate the little one from my older one from time to time because the puppy would bully my older dog and eat her food sometimes. Lyn also gave the puppy some play time to burn her puppy energy even though I only paid for one suite for 2 dogs and opted out for day care. These examples have shown that Forever Puppy is NOT a corporate profit driven place. Dogs ARE loved and cared here. I can see the reason why my dogs enjoy going there. Great friendly, safe place! Lyn is super nice and dedicated. I took both my schnauzers for the Xmas weekend holiday. I was torn inside by not being able to bring them up north with us, but had the best piece of mind with a happy picture of both during their stay and a good updtate from Lyn. I didn't feel the need to video call. I knew they were fine. When we picked them up they were super happy and at some point it seemed that one of my dogs was thanking Lyn for taking good care of them. I've taken them to a bigger place with many many dogs, but leaving them at Forever Puppy felt as leaving them with a caring family member or friend. We had a piano competition in our home, so we had to find a place for our furbabies and I'm so glad we found Forever Puppy!! Their location (off Alicia and Via Fabricante) right on the way to the freeway couldn't be more convenient. The staff was so helpful! I have an older "alpha" female collie and a submissive "problem child" sneaky shepherd mix The staff was GREAT with both. The facilities are set up for all situations, right down to the rubber on the floors so that my old collie didn't have problems walking or getting up and down! They literally thought of everything! My "problem child" sneaky shepherd mix even did great. I could watch her from an online camera and even call for updates. They were really patient with her eccentricities and they gave me a full report when we picked her up. I used the day care package because of my "problem child" but I'm thinking about trying the day camp next time. They also have Boarding packages that seem really reasonably priced. I'd much rather leave my dogs here than some vet where they'll be in a cage most of the day. read more

I have left all 3 of my dogs with Forever Puppy multiple times. I'm consistently very happy with how they operate. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. What I really appreciate is that they email me pictures of my dogs (without me even having to ask), while I'm on vacation. It really helps ease my mind when I see the pictures of my dogs playing at the doggie day camp. Along with the emailed pictures, they give me a quick update on how my dogs are doing. My most recent boarding was on December 26th through the 31st and one of my dogs was taking two different medications. Ordinarily, I would have worried about leaving my dog with another boarding facility when medications are involved. I didn't worry once with Forever Puppy. I knew they would make sure she got her meds and on time. Indeed, I was right in not needing to be worried. They checked in with me to let me know that she was taking her meds. We left our 2 dogs at Forever Puppy over the Thanksgiving holiday. Our daughter left her dog there over the same period. The owners are very friendly and knowledgeable. They took time when we checked in to get to know each dog and their food preferences etc. We had to drop off and pick up our dogs outside of regular business hours due to our travel schedule and the holiday. The owners were very accommodating about meeting us during off hours .(There is an additional fee for this service, which is fair). The facility is small and very clean. I especially liked that the dogs got to play at doggie camp all day instead of being locked up most of the day. We will be back! read more

We left our two small dogs with Forever Puppy for several days over Thanksgiving. Our dogs, a shih Tzu and a 4 lb, 15 year old Yorkie seemed happy, healthy and stress free when they came home. We had a negative experience a few years ago at another pet hotel where both dogs were extremely anxious, filthy and acquired respiratory infections, so we had been using in-home sitters. After a sitter lost the elderly dog (she was found a day later), I explored more hotels. We selected Forever Puppy because of the smaller hotel size (fewer dogs), calmer atmosphere, flexibility to customize the experience, and the staff made us feel confident our dogs would receive attentive care, which we believe they did. They held the Yorkie and hand fed her when needed! We will definitely return to Forever Puppy! read more

Updated Review: Thanks to Lyn for responding publicly, but it still does not solve the communication issue they clearly had with us. It's unfortunate they did not let us know when these incidents occurred instead of continuing to tell us he's a sweet dog and "everything is fine, we just can't keep him alone." If they had told us that in person instead of over yelp, we would not have bought another package and would have found a more appropriate facility. Original review: I would rate them zero if yelp allowed it. Do not take your puppy to Forever Puppy. And if you have a larger dog, definitely do not take them to Forever Puppy. We took our dog to day camp and boarding for the past 6 months on occasion for socialization and for two short overnight trips. The only feedback was and i quote "he's really friendly with the other dogs, he just barks when he's left alone." We asked if this was a problem and were told no, not for day camp (and he adjusted after the second night of boarding). However, apparently they give you ZERO warning when they decide you need to pick up your dog and cancel your remaining stay. Our dog was newer to boarding (and 18 months old) and were told ONE time a couple days prior, "oh your dog had to be separated because he humped another smaller dog and got a scratch (on himself)." We asked if it was a problem and were told "No, he's a real sweet dog, see you next week!" Then I receive a call ONE HOUR after dropping him off for a three-day day camp stay saying he needs to be picked up because he was humping another smaller dog. What place does that? Sure it's not the best behavior of a dog, but he's been there for one hour. Put him in the kennel or place him with larger dogs. And zero warnings? Why would you say one week "it's ok, he's a sweet dog" and then all of a sudden you're told to pick him up immediately? He did not hurt any other dogs, in fact, another dog scratched him and his eye was bleeding! Shame on you Forever Puppy, you have a complete lack of professionalism, clearly with larger dogs and puppies. read more

I have left my two 10 year old Cocker Mixes at Forever Puppy for boarding over Christmas, and my 6 month old Cavalier has gone to forever puppy for daycamp many times. I have always been incredibly impressed with the owners, the staff, and this facility. I loved getting an e-mail when I was boarding my two pups over the holidays with pictures and a write up about how they were doing. It really helped keep my mind at ease. They were also lifesaver for me when I was suffering from Strep Throat and didn't have the energy to entertain my 6 month old puppy. After the first day of dropping Molly off at the daycare, she started crying with excitement every time we pulled up. She just ran straight up to the door and started jumping up and down to go inside! I was so glad to see how happy she was going there....some days, when I went to pick her up, she didn't want to leave! Plus, $15 for 4 hours of camp was such a deal! It completely wore out Molly, which helped her 'Mommy' get some much needed rest at home. I will definitely be using them again in the future. Especially since Molly is such a fan! read more

I have been taking my dog Colby to Forever Puppy for over two years now and I wouldn't take him anywhere else! Forever Puppy is family owned and Lyn who is the owner has been so gracious and always accommodating when I had last minute drop offs(boarding). So we decided to give forever puppy a try because they had a yelp coupon- it's 25 extra dollars to pick up your pup on a Sunday but they charged us 50 instead for no reason. This was supposed to be cost effective boarding but for 2 nights cost us 100$. The customer service was terrible we had to call 5 times to get anyone to answer a phone and after leaving messages they did not return our calls. DO NOT recommend- they do not care about your puppy and will milk you for every dollar and fee they can think of. read more

I decided to try Forever Puppy after my family got a second dog. (I took both my dogs for an orientation at a different dog daycare facility and immediately knew it was not right for my dogs due to the extremely large number of dogs in the play area). I really like Forever Puppy for lots of reasons but mostly because of the small ratio of dogs to staff. All of the employees I have dealt with are very kind and genuinely seem happy to see my dogs when I take them there for day camp. My dogs come home tired from all the "fun and games" during their stay. I boarded my dogs for 8 days at Forever Puppy in January 2015 and I truly never worried about them. Took my puppy here today for her first time ever at a daycare. It was such a great experience. I had emailed Lyn yesterday and she told me to bring my 8 month old puppy in today. I dropped her off at 7am and the lady that checked me in was so sweet and accommodating. My girl was crying as I left but I was assured she would be fine. When I picked her up the girl up front was just as sweet and told me my girl did great. Kona is dead tired now which I love! She will definitely be back here multiple times a week. Our family took a two week vacation and researched numerous places to board our puppy. We felt completely comfortable with leaving our puppy with Carlo and his staff. They did and exceptional job taking care of our puppy and sent us an update every other day. It was such a comfort to know that puppy was in good hands. This place is great. We were looking for a daycare for our pup that was on the way to work for my husband and I and were lucky to find this. Our very large Shepherd mix has a ton of energy and loves attention so we were a little worried at the size of the facility, but he does great. The staff is so attentive and every time say that they played fetch all day long!! It is a nice break for him from being home alone all day, so we try to take him every other week. Picked my dog up after a two night stay and was very disappointed. I paid using groupon so all fee's were supposed to be covered. I picked her up on a sunday and was not told that there would be an additional $25 fee for this but it was expected when I got there. That wasn't even the big problem. The reason that I am so unhappy with their service is that my dog was COVERED in PEE and had poop on her butt when I got there. Make's me scared for what happened while I wasn't present. read more

We feel very safe leaving our Maverick here when we are out of town. Before our 1st boarding, they suggested that we bring him in to get acquainted with the place and to asses his needs, whether he wants to play all the time, or just wants to chill etc. They really try their best to accommodate his needs. We even get videos of his play time and we got to FaceTime with him! We miss him so much when we're gone, but we know that he gets a lot of love, care, and attention from the staff.
