Not sure why it's taken me so long to write a review for forever young. I have been coming here for years and Lucy just nails what I'm going for everytime. She listens to what you want and gives her input and guidence off of whataver inspo you're showing her. I'm usually someone that comes in with a picture of what I want and she will explain what's happening in the picture so I get a better idea of what to expect on my own hair or face. She so good with figuring out and safely experimenting to get you the results you're looking for and I highly recommend this salon. Lucy is a hidden gem!!! Her work is truly at the level of celebrity stylists! She did mine and my matron of honors hair and makeup and when I tell you that my hair did not fall, my MOH's curls did not go flat (always happens), and neither of our makeups melted in 90 something degree weather from 10 am all the way till 3 am!!! Like WHAT?!! This woman is a solid five stars, better yet, she's a solid 500 stars!! Her personality is so chill and easy going, she knew what to say to keep my nerves at a low. I'm happy with the way my hair turned out. I'm one of those nervous Nellies when it comes to getting my haircut because of many bad experiences, but she was a nice woman, did a quick job not rushed but not dilly dallying or wasting time either, and she did a nice job. I know some women like being fussed over but I'm not one of those. I like to be in and out. The only reason I didn't give her a full 5 is because it was a little shorter than I asked, but my hair was really quite long and could take the amount she took off without being too short. Last night was my prom and holy hannah, pre-prom was a disaster. I had set up an appointment with a salon at another local salon. They even said they had makeup service+hair service so I decided to go there. Boy, do I regret it. They were putting the makeup on like it was a joke. It's because they didn't know how to do it and asked me to do it myself for my prom. I decided to leave the salon looking like a clown cause I was so pissed off and started to cry of embarrassment. With three hours of prom beginning, I quickly tried to find a makeup service around my area. I'm so grateful I found Forever Young. Lucy welcomely took me in when I asked to get my makeup done at the last minute. She willingly did it, and it was so amazing. Thanks to her, I left like a princess at prom last night. I happened upon them since the woman I used to go to for my hair was so hard to get into, no Saturday appointments, etc. Just driving home one night many moons ago, they just happened to be open and I was desperate. I walked in and Rita had availability to cut my hair. She trimmed my frightening locks and I made an appointment for color for the next day. I've been back several times now and each time is a treat. I also had my eyebrows threaded and trust me, my eyebrows are CRAZY and today they look great. The nice thing is they always remember me and are so sweet to me. UGH! I went to this place in order to get my eyebrows threaded! Suffice it to say, I walked IN with a full nice set of brows (in need of cleaning up) and walked out with uneven brows with a LINE through the middle of my left eyebrow! The tech that did my brows was distracting due to her heavy breathing....I couldn't even muster up the words to say anything to her because she really thought she had done something special! I have been going to Rita now over a year. She is the stylist that not only cut my hair, but did my beard, mustache, and eyebrows for the same price. I tip her 50% since the cut is only $8! If it is in the morning she makes a coffee too. I feel taken care of and Rita does a consistently good cut. My wife goes there too, and if Rita is not available, Lucy does a great job too. I've been going to Lucy for Hair and makeup for years and she's amazing to say the least. From my hair color to my trims every six weeks to my makeup for special occasions she always delivers.
