DON'T TRY THIS PLACE ! I had a terrible experience getting a haircut here. The stylist, Rachel, completely messed up my hair. Even my regular hairstylist was shocked and had to fix the damage. She said the cut was uneven and done poorly. On top of that, my daughter went to this salon several times for highlights with Racheal , and every time the color came out different and damaged her hair even more. Her new stylist confirmed that the quality of work was very poor and inconsistent. This place is outdated, and the staff clearly lacks proper training. Finally made my way here even though my gal pals have been coming here for yeaaars. This place is like the hub, where you always run into someone you know. $45 for roots and $60 for single color processing. $20 for men's and boys' cuts. Will definitely be back. Hidden in the corner of strip mall next to taekwondo place. Maybe I'll enroll my son and come here in the meantime! Visited 4/2/16 Found out about this place through Groupon. Have driven by this place MULTIPLE times, and NEVER noticed it. Located in a strip mall. Shared parking. Open on a Monday which was GREAT!! Found out later that they are open 7 days a week. Small looking shop outside as well as inside. When I first approached it, my first thought was "geez, what did I get myself into "?!?! No customers. Waiting area not very nice looking. Plastic chairs. This shop DEFINITELY does not look as good as it use to be. The two women were speaking in Armenian but I was happy to find out we understand each other. Aida definitely knows what she's doing. I liked how she colored my hair. I told her no and she proceeded to ask me 3 more times if I wanted a haircut & I proceeded each time to say no . The hair dressers were friendly and knowledgeable. I asked for a very short trim and that's exactly what I got. My bangs are very short and uneven. I learned not never come to Hair Mode or let AIDA- who can be my grandmother to cut my hair. Not only did she lacked skills, she made ONE CUT across on my bangs and said she was done, because another customer was waiting for her. She left it like that. I will need to wait three weeks to have my bangs grow out and to look normal. AIDA should get fired for treating her customer like this. read more

I came in a couple months ago and let me tell you Helen really knows what she is doing. I came in with unrealistic expectations and she was very patient to figure out what to do with my hair. Let me tell you, my hair was beyond messed up. I have dyed and bleached it over 20 times this past year. Got the Groupon deal: haircut, deep conditioning, and partial highlight or single - process color for $55 only. Need to make appointment before coming here, cant walk -in because they are very busy. Made appointment Sunday 11am but came here 10am they still accommodate me and my sister. Helen is the one who helped me; cut my hair and did the highlights. Helen is nice but what she did to my hair and service is terrible. Helen did the highlights first before cutting my hair, I thought need to be cut first before doing the highlight but her techniques is different i guess. After applying highlights I have to wait 30mins while waiting she pull out this huge book shows variety of highlights. Helen asked me what kind of highlight I want and I picked the light brown highlight. Timepass, time for my hair to be wash, Helen notice its too light so she put a toner waited again 10-15mins again. Highlight is done and conditioning is done too, time for haircut. While Helen is cutting my hair, my soaking wet hair slap on my face and she didn't apologize. Later on, while shes blow drying my hair i notice nothing change on my hair except for my hair got shorter but my hair color is the same black. I told Helen nothing change on my hair, still look the same, i dont see the highlights, and she didn't say anything. Also, there toner on the side of my face, she didnt even clean it. Walked out in this salon with sad face and my face is a mess black toner. I gave her $2 tip only, actually i was planning not to give her any tip because of the service and what she did to my hair is extremely disappointing. I I dont like giving bad review but my experience here is horrible. I'm only giving two stars because of the Groupon deal and other stylist are very nice. read more

I've been consistently visiting Hair Mode since Summer (2017), and I adore my hair stylist Helen. I had been hopping from overpriced salons to overpriced salons for years, always leaving dissatisfied especially considering how much I paid. The cost also made it hard for me to keep up with new color and my roots always showed. Helen does amazing color, I get tons of compliments on my hair and I trust her enough to start experimenting with different shades. I highly recommend her especially if you are considering He yhighlights for the first time or have stuck to a natural look most your life. You don't need to go to a fancy salon and break the bank for great hair. Hair Mode is affordable and Helen is a pro! I went a little lighter last time and i I just love that I can trust her to experiment more with my hair. Update Feb 2018: uploaded new picture! I went in today and Helen suggested low lights and highlights to increase the contrast of my highlights (after many months of highlighting, my hair was very light all over and I was ready for a change). This is maybe a terrible strategy but I never know what looks good on me. Helen definitely delivered! I went into Hair Mode two days before Thanksgiving to get a much needed haircut. I explained to the woman who was to help me (who was the only person in the shop) that I wanted about "this much" (we concluded about three inches) off, side swept bangs, and overall blended layering. I had a picture of me with the exact bangs I hoped to get; shouldn't be hard with an exact picture of the actual person. The lady helping me was VERY kind, but was clearly rushed and had to stop at moments to help others. Not her fault. However, after my haircut I expressed that I did not feel my bangs were short enough, as they kept falling over my eyes. The picture I showed depicted side swept bangs laying at my eyebrow line. She assured me they were once styled, but snipped a bit more. She very kindly blew dry my hair with a round brush and showed me the finished product. I don't normally wear my hair all flipped and fluffed, so it was hard to tell how it would look straight (how I normally wear it), but she kept tossling it, assured me the bangs were good and not to go shorter, and took the hair cutting robe off me. I guess we were done. Almost immediately the next day I noticed my "bangs", well, were not. Not only are they far too long to stay sideswept, but they easily go back with a ponytail... Proof they are too long! They really are just an awkward length. I curled it for Thanksgiving, but upon wearing it straight the next day I noticed how horribly uneven and not blended my layers were. It also looks like just the middle section of the back is layered. Awesome. After expressing to her how much anxiety getting a haircut gives me, as I have had so many bad ones, the bad ones continue. I WANT/need to get it fixed, but am incredibly hesitant to go back as I felt I was very clear and I somehow got this (see picture in picture gallery). I can't get my money back as I paid with a Groupon... I feel out of luck... AND I now have to pay to get another haircut to fix it. UGH. While they were incredibly nice, I don't suggest taking a chance on somewhere new like I did! read more
