So happy this opened up in Lawrenceville. It's a great fast casual option for healthy vegetarian food. They also had meat options, but majority of the toppings were plant based. I got the mediterranean bowl which exceeded my expectations. For how simple it was, it actually was packed with a bunch of flavor. Will be back soon to try make my own bowl next time!

Delicious. Our new favorite spot in PGH. The vegan meat was amazing and tasted so good. Highly recommend.

There are so many ingredients to choose from that you can truly build a nutrient-dense meal that's customized exactly how you like it. Even though the bowl doesn't look huge at first, they really pack it full, and it ended up being much more filling than I expected. I also appreciated the variety of dressings, although I found the bowl so flavorful on its own that I didn't even need mine. I ended up saving the dressing to use with another meal later. I've only been here once, so I can't say too much yet, but my first impression was excellent. The restaurant was clean, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the customer service was great. If you're looking for a healthy meal that's both satisfying and packed with fresh ingredients, this is definitely worth trying. I haven't been here enough to make a fair comparison to Roots Natural Kitchen, but the concepts are similar. Hello Bistro seems to offer even more topping options, while Roots feels a little more focused on grain bowls. My favorite additions were the roasted beets and goat cheese, but honestly, there are so many combinations that you could come back several times and have a completely different bowl each visit. Considering how generous they are with the toppings, I think it's a really good value.

I've been back a few times for lunch (it's right near my work, so that's a win!). The bowls are…read morestill very noodle heavy. They have a nice array of healthier toppings to choose from, but I wish they would more clearly label which ones incur an upcharge. Last time, I got charged nearly $2 for a scoop of corn but nothing for broccoli, spinach, or tomato. Not the end of the world but a bit confusing. Piada recently added small 'pockets' to their menu, which I've enjoyed. The pockets are about the size of my palm and come in a few varieties (meatball, sausage/pepper, spinach/artichoke, and pepperoni). At $3-5 each they are a good sidecar to lunch or just a savory snack. The closest analogy I can think of is a single slice of pizza, but these pockets are more dense. One final tip: Don't show up between 12-12:30 on weekdays during the school year or else you will wait in a very long line of students.

Every thing was delicious. Portions are absolute huge. At first, you'll think the bowl is not full until you realize the bowls are huge. You could easily feed two people with a single entree. That means I haven't actually eaten inside Roots itself; maybe one day I won't be picking up my meal on the go? But until then, I can't comment on what a sit-down experience here is like. If the name didn't give it away, this is an eatery focused on "natural foods", AKA whole foods. So if you want a salad or a bowl, this is a good place to get one. They have a limited number of "set" menu items, and they let you make custom creations, too. This is where I reveal how lame I am, because I found my favorite order back in 2023 and I've never changed it up! If you see me here I'm probably ordering a Mayweather salad, which includes kale, bulgur, sweet potatoes, beets, red onions, goat cheese, and chicken. One day I might shake things up and try their cobb salad...but until then, I'll let the Mayweather continue to delight my tastebuds. Disclaimer that Roots is not the cheapest eatery on the block, but for me, it's my weekly treat. I could never make a salad as tasty as theirs, and a good (i.e. healthy and yummy) meal makes my in-office day a little better! I can't wait to pick up my regular order again later this week (although I might steal another reviewer's idea and get the BBQ tofu instead of chicken...it sounds good AND it would make me a slightly less boring regular!).

Everything on the menu is connected to mindful eating, loving and appreciating yourself, and improving your health and the way you feel about yourself. So, actually a guy at the information booth was eating something from here and I asked him where he got it from because it looked very good and he recommended them to me. So we headed their way. Tbh: Every place that we wanted to eat at had a line 25-50 deep and we were super hungry and their line was only like 5-7 people deep which was a blessing. First off, the service in general was kind of crappy, but I understand as it was a hot and very busy day and from what they told my gf at the time they were getting low on food as well and only had a couple items that were left from the menu. After deciding what we wanted which was one of three things my gf at the time ordered us the Mac and Cheese and a container of ranch to take home while I looked for a place for us to eat. So after they handed her our food we headed over to an area with tables and chairs to eat the Mac and Cheese. I must say we both thoroughly enjoyed every single bit of it and my gf at the time isn't even vegan. So that says a lot! I highly recommended it :) FYI: The person who took her order also forgot to give her the container of ranch she paid for. I wasn't made aware that she purchased it until afterwards because my gf at the time wanted to surprise me but they didn't give her a receipt so she had no proof. Oh well, you live and learn, sadly! The vibe on this day was on point so we let the little things go in regards to the crappy service and the shorting us of an overpriced container of ranch fall to the wayside and continued on with our wonderful day, smiling and enjoying the amazing festival and area. If I decide to stop by your food trailer again this year at the festival or whenever I am somewhere you are posted up in front of, I hope you make up for your mistakes from last year because that's the right thing to do.
